- Coleman CT200U-EX goes 60 MPH with a predator 212
Installed a Predator 212 with a straight chain on the Coleman CC200U-EX minibike.
Did a top-speed run to see the results of the swap?

A wise man once said, before you make a minibike go three times as fast, make sure it's brakes stop you 4 times as good.
Check out the CT200U-EX playlist. Have front and rear disk brake conversion.
Exactly. Way too scary at an older age. I don't heal as fast.
@Black66 you should paint it and replace the light with a skull and convert the storage into a gas tank and put luggage racks on it and handgaurds and new grips custom pegs and finally that's all I have to say
@@Metalcrystalmusic I'm doing some of the things you mentioned, I just put handgrips and CNC pegs on mine
@Shotifyz I tried doing some of them but not to long ago I left my bike out at my freinds all weiner it still runs but we were gonna fix the exhaust cause it broke off I fixed it today but now I just need to fix the pull start get a new exhaust and I'm gold
Awesome videos. I am 60 and I still like these minibikes. Big changes in speed though since the Tecumseh 3.5 that I had from Sears.
That still had more in it!!!! I have the same set up brand new bike and motor just not the cam n things which is coming!! Still so amazing what these little motors can do!! Thanks for ur vids much learned!👍🏾
Thanks!!
What clutch do you recommend using with the predator 212 when straight chain? Thanks
This is a good one for the #40/41/420 chain www.amazon.com/Bravex-Centrifugal-Clutch-Tooth-Chain/dp/B07HFXHNNY/ref=sr_1_14?crid=2084QFKAMRAQA&keywords=mini+bike+clutch+for+predator+212&qid=1649971577&sprefix=minibike+clutch%2Caps%2C314&sr=8-14
Great Video! 👍 and easy to understand 👌. thanks
Awesome 💪🏾
You're a braver man than me. On my lightly modified RB200 @ 45 mph I'm cringing about doing that on Chinese bearings.
What modifications did you do to it? I'm thinking of buying one and would like to get it up to some speeds like that

@@rcinful Bro, can you send me a detailed list of the parts and where you got them? My brother did a converter but it only tops 30, I'm trying to get at least 40-45.
My predator 212 that I took the governor off and got a modified carburetor goes 70😭
I wouldn’t doubt if he just has 5 212 predators mounted together for his car engine.😂
Hmmmm...great idea!!!
That’s funny
No,when u first get it already dose 30mph
I'm doing this right now to my bt200x coleman can't wait to try it out once it's done
It's gonna be a rocket ship!
I have a stage 4 predator on a drift trike and always thought about building another engine and put it on a mini bike...great build..
Thanks! I really like this combo
I know you've done torque converter comparisons before. I would love to see the comp on this bike. However, I really like the simplicity of the straight chain, and it seemed like it has enough power to drive around in normal traffic. In my town, we are allowed to ride on all the streets (except main street) with our minibikes and ATVs. If we get a safety inspection pass, then we can go on main street also. I want to get this same bike new, make it like yours, and put blinkers, mirrors, front brake, and street tires, so I can cruise town and go anywhere I like. I love this channel! It's like minibike school and so fun. Ride that beast!
Thanks, man! I am happy you like the channel. I have fun making the videos. Ya, I think a straight-chain would work really good on one of these bikes with a 60 sprocket on the back versus the 50 that's on there.
It is really cool you can ride all over town legally.
@@Black66 love your videos of these Coleman’s. Can you do another video explaining the difference in straight chain vs torque converter and 40 -60 sprocket ?
@@bt4b4 I'll get back around to working with the big bikes again.
That’s awesome what state are you from
That was awesome! Do you think the 196cc engine that comes with this bike could be made to do something close to that performance? What part of the bike was rattling when you go over bumps (fenders, kickstand, other)?
Check out my other videos with the 196cc. Ya, the fenders where rattling
Great video!!!!
Thanks! Check out the CT200O-EX playlist czcams.com/video/Up6TpJiopEo/video.html
I really appreciate this video and you telling me about this engine ✊
Hey I’m young and my dad just bought one of these I’m planning on working on it. What’s the first thing I should buy to increase speed but also not be a gas guzzler. Thanks
Just built an engine just like that can't wait to get it on my bike
Bro that thing is moving good
Not sure I really want to go quite that fast. FYI I made a springer seat for my CT200UEX . Much more comfortable. Hinges at front and springs on rear. I will be using info from your other video to tune my carb properly. Thanks again.
Hey bro! I love your videos and you seem very knowledgeable. Could I ask for some help? I just recently got into mini bikes, I wasn’t allowed to have “dangerous things” like this growing up so I’m not sure of some things. If I change from the stock engine to a predator 212 will the jack shaft plate work? Also will I need a new clutch? What clutch, if so, would you suggest!? Thank you in advance
Yes, the plate will work. You need a 3/4 shaft #41/420/40 chain clutch. Something like this www.gopowersports.com/10t-3-4-bore-centrifugal-clutch-41-420/
If you get a predator 212cc motor to put on it get a torque unit and a performance muffler remove the Governor from the motor and it'll top out at 60 mph fast and fun
Your videos are very informative and educational, could you do some uphill test so we can see more of what the torque is like on straight chain setups
Thanks! Ya, I have been wanting to do some off road stuff . I’ll have to do that .
Dan it's garbage on straight chain no power at all I've got a predator 212cc removed the revlimiter out of the motor and added a performance muffler and a torque unit and it's fast at 60mph and has lots of climbing power
@@Black66 OMBWAREHOUSE THEY WILL HAVE ALL THE PARTS YOU NEED
Hey black, it’s not about this video but I have a question I just order some street tires from sun F and their wobbling really bad at high-speed. I was wondering if you could show how we can speed balance our Mini Bike wheels
Just...DAMN!
Great video brother
Thanks! Check out the CT200U-EX playlist for many more combos with this bike. czcams.com/video/X0SmAZJ6qW8/video.html
Sweet!
Great video man you commented back on one of my comments super fast got another sub! Keep up the good videos and you will be a hit one day on CZcams
Thanks! Maybe, but if not that's ok too. It's fun doing the videos.
I put a built and dyno'd 16 hp ducar motor on my minibike, which is only slightly bigger than your Coleman c100 (it's an old 60s Montgomery). And the thing hits 60 on the dot with a straight chain within a couple seconds. The thing is a total death trap and I love it hahah
Awesome!
How tight should my chain be
Im impressed
Thanks!
Did you look at used 200 (+-) cc engines from the Big Four?
My first bike was a mini with a Tecumseh motor...gas was .35 cents an imperial gallon! Broke a ring and scored the piston and cylinder...that was the end of that. 50 years later...still breaking motorcycles lol
What’s the gear ratio on that mini I’m trying to decide on a good #40 chain ratio to run for my mm80 build I was thinking 10-40 it’s just a degoverned 212 with a header pipe vm22 carb billet flywheel and 18lb springs I’ve only ever ran #35 chains and not to sure about what gearing I should try first
I have the exact same bike I wanna buy the 212 tomorrow at harbor freight what else (piping) did you buy
I noticed you put to washers on before clutch. What size were those? Did you put the stock chains together? Or buy a new chain? And what length of chain do I need for it? Sorry for all the questions.
They are 3/4 washers. It is stock chain spliced together. If you Use a chain breaker and you can splice any length you need.
Do u half to change out ur clutch often with the straight chain 50 tooth? Cause usually when I have this set up especially with the 50 tooth my clutch usually goes out with in a month or so
Mine lasted for a while longer only because I'M light weight. It is definitely better with the 60 tooth for longevity. Check out the CT200U-EX playlist if you haven't already. I have tried many different combos with this bike. czcams.com/video/X0SmAZJ6qW8/video.html
Do you have the stock key for the flywheel?
Hey man can you make a bike dedicated to wheelies? Wanting to know the best setup and bike for em.
I used the clutch from the jack shaft as a straight chain set up and destroyed the chain the same day. Got any tips that might help prevent another broken chain?
Yes, I haven't had a problem. I think maybe the reason is I used 40 chain on that bike . Its a little beefier chain over the 41
Having an issue finding a clutch that will fit and work on my predator 212 it's not from harbor freight got it off of monster scooter moto I'm sure they get there engines from harbor freight but I'm having a issue finding a clutch that will fit and work any suggestions or ideas on clutches that should or will work
Woooohooohooooo brother this is insane 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 . Love your videos man i wish to see more. Merry xmas to you and family mate .
Just tell me if we could import that engine to mauritius island and how much it would cost please
Thanks! lol
I'm having issues with my chain coming off alot and I've now broke and lost my 2nd chain I've replaced any ideas on how I may be able to fix that and what chain would you best recommend that will work best?
Hey Man U did any clearance for the cam and stuff ? Or it all jus fit in
The 265 cam dropped right in.
Non hemi wont need any clearance with a 265, the hemi is hit and miss
Hey Black, I watch all your videos. Can you tell me what muffler you have on this bike? Thanks
Thanks! It has a header pipe with a Exhaust Trumpet . Here is the link for the header www.gopowersports.com/header-pipe-coleman-ct200s-mega-moto-212-tillotson-225/
Did you get the aftermarket carb on amazon? I have a minibike with a predator and want to get a custom exhaust and more performance carburetor for mine.
Links are in the description
Where did you get that stand work station?
Faster than the torch converter kit?
Got myself a ct200u ex today and also picked up a 224cc and recommend mods to it such as clutch, intake and header a good start for the 224 ? Did a top speed on the 196cc and I topped at 25mph haha
Check out the 224 playist for combos. I really like the 224 with a 265 cam. Video coming out soon.
Fantastic videos. Question if I mount DuroMax XP18HP 440cc. Which you think will be the speed on it. And do you think it’s good engine. Do you think will fit COLEMAN CT200U
Thanks, Ya, I think it will fit. With all that torque you should be able to put a high gear on it.
Bro you just saved me a ton of time dude. I just got a Chikuni and I haven't been able to figure out how to load it. Smfh
Glad I could help
What's the length of the Chain u used I want to do it on my bt200x
I have a 212 also and I’m wondering did you eliminate the governor in it or just put a 212 in with a direct chain?
I have done many engine and gear set ups on this bike. Check out the CT200U-EX playlist czcams.com/video/X0SmAZJ6qW8/video.html
hey i rode the same bike yesterday but it had enginge swap for race bike and a bunch of mods do you think they are worth buying without parts just taking the governer off?
It depends on what you want. Or how fast you want to go. It's worth buying if you can get a good deal.
But just a stock engine with the governor removed is fun too.
I have the same bike with a mikuni and header my best speed is 35 mph what do you do different ❓
So what are the bearings on those rated at I can imagine they're not for that speed I'm just curious if you've upgraded them or not
Stock bearings
Keep them greased lubed up
Is the Coleman mini bike like you got automatic
Great video. What do you use to get GPS speed and overlay on video?
Thanks! I use a dragy performance meter for 0 to 30 and digiHUD on the phone for top speed. Camera GoPro software for the overlay, Check out the CT200U-EX playlist for more combos on this bike. czcams.com/video/X0SmAZJ6qW8/video.html
what size sprockets are you using? also does the vm22 need jetted and is the head a direct bolt on?
We have used many different sprockets on this set up. Check out the Coleman playlist. The VM22 can be directly bolted on but could use a tune to get optimal performance. Check out the VM22 tuning videos. czcams.com/video/X0SmAZJ6qW8/video.html

You was out.Great job.
Could you send me in the directions for the part that your connecting the throttle cable to please. The part that your had to solder. Thanks so much!
Why a gx160 head? I have a gx160 me and my buddy just ungoverned and threw on a mega moto 80 frame i had and i was looking for ways to make it go faster and more torque. Other then governor removal, cheap intake carb kit, new clutch and #35 chain its all stock. It seems to have a ton of compression it's incredibly hard to pull but usually starts first pull.
Would the straight chain be ok with hills and dirt also is this a hemi or a non hemi
No, a straight chain is good for highway use but doesn't work well on hills. This build is a non-hemi. Check out the CT200U-EX playlist for many combos with this bike. czcams.com/video/X0SmAZJ6qW8/video.html
Mine vibrates like crazy at top speed with stock engine. How do you get around that?
Do any of you guys have issues with chain rubbing the clutch when using a straight chain set up?
No, it runs really well with the staright chain.
Are you able to sell the motor that you made because I don’t know how to build it?
I got 55 out of the ducar but was running the 10/53 and I got a few extra pounds got my 228 Tillotson apart tapping the block way to much crank case pressure at 9k rpm so much it blew my rear oil plug out on some test hits
Man I wish I was good with my hands like this
How are the brakes holding up with the increase in speed?
Surprisingly ok, but then again I'm using a lot of road to slow down. It wouldn't hurt to upgrade to a disc or something
What tools did you need?
I’m building one because of you
Ah sweet! Your gonna love that bike!
Do you have a billet rod or no n do you ride wide open for short or long distance n every day
yes,it has a billet rod and flywheel. No, its not wide open all the time. The bikes combo is

Black66, I think I saw recently where you put a hub on a ct200uex that will allow you to change the sprocket without pulling the axle every time too switch sprockets, what was that hub❓ pls. advise. Thank you. ✌🏻

@@Black66 yes this is the one thank you, will it fit a ct200uex or is it different? Where can I find one.? Thank you.
Does the GX160 head make a difference then having a stock predator head?
Ya, the GX160 14cc chamber bumps the compression. It makes it snappier for sure. If you are going to start modifying the engine the 212 head might flow better unless you port the 160 head. Here is an old video I did when I added the head. czcams.com/video/Xh0om5moxB0/video.html
@@Black66 awesome! Thanks for the reply!
How do I remove the stock long bolts from the manifold so I can install my new carb where it bolts into the manifold

Does the life span shorten without the Jack shaft when running the straight chain? Which one has better longevity overall between straight chain, jackshaft and torque converter?
I think the one with fewer parts to break is the one that should last the longest.
The torque converter helps the driveshaft and engine from loading up on torque. Basically a straight chain would wear out your motor faster
@@Dingbobber maybe but if you up size the rear sprocket it helps with the load

@@Black66 thank you for the reply! I appreciate it!!
Where can i get handlebar bushings for my baja warrior
What is the best gearing on the 200 ex straight chain for top speed?
I would say it depends on the weight of the rider . If you are a small rider you can get away with the stock rear 50 tooth but with a heavier rider I would use a 60 tooth sprocket. With a small sprocket ,heavy rider and the tall tires it is hard on the clutch . Also with the 60 tooth it gets the engine more into its RPM band like in this video...czcams.com/video/avdJE34nFIU/video.html
