    Remove the governor screw. I have the Ct100u Black one. Paid $399 at Tractor Supply. My son is 9 75lbs. Moves great for him.
    I’m 6’1” 240lbs. It moves me Fine even up little hills.

    • @BuckeyeBallistics

      I did. I can get it up to 31mph on flat pavement and it will climb small *paved* hills with me once it gets goin. In the grass? Forget about it, even flat ground. But that's why I also have the 200's...

      I'm sure it's a blast for smaller kids. It was bought for my 80lb 9 year old, but she went and broke her arm about a week before Christmas, so she won't be able to ride it until summer probably. I got videos of the larger ones comming up which actually move with me on top of them...

      She's doing alright. Tomorrow she gets to get her big rock hard and heavy cast cut off and get a more user friendly one that is half the size and weight, so that will be a burden lifted for her. Now I'm afraid she will break another bone when she get's on the minibike later this year if she crashes it. I swear I'm going to wrap her up in bubble wrap when she does ride it lol.

    Did you check the brake when you first got it? I have the cc100x and it moves (I’m 220lbs) with the mods I did. All the basic stuff we all know so when I got this one I was confused as to why it was soo much slower. I did the air filter and governor mod right off the bat and it was as slow as this one appears. After some digging to see why it was soo slow come to find out the brake caliber was adjusted to tight and was basically holding it back. After I saw that I adjusted it till the rear tire spun freely and it’s as fast as my cc100x now. Soo guys check the brakes make sure it’s not holding the bike back.

    • @BuckeyeBallistics

      Thanks for the tip. The brake doesn't seem to hold it back, but it does squak and groan like it is rubbing, so I will definately look into it.

    I'm about 170 and found that if you pump the tires up a little more it makes a world of difference. I think standard is rated at like 3 or 5 psi the tires actual max psi is surprisingly high tho. The harder tires make alot less drag it helps the poor thing quite alot

    • @BuckeyeBallistics
      @BuckeyeBallistics  Před 2 lety +1

      Indeed that would help some- I used to keep my pedal bike tires pumped all the way up when I was a kid because it was easier to pedal. But since the tires are effectively the suspension on this thing, it would be pretty bouncy off pavement unless you have a really smooth yard. But really at 170lbs, you are definately big enough to step up to the 200's with twice the power and then it wouldn't be an issue...

      @BuckeyeBallistics  Před rokem

      @Mario - The only thing you would be able to do is ride it on flat paved surfaces, and it would take forever to get up to speed and you would probably burn up the clutch regularly and strain the engine. I'm the same weight, so I'm speaking from experience. Literally completely flat paved surfaces only- it won't even move with me on it in the grass. You need the bigger one, and even those won't go up a steep hill with us on them...

      Hi Brandon. I just wanted to let you know I deleted your other comments in the interest of privacy. I occasionally state in videos and comments that I am in fact in Ohio, but the furthest I ever go in describing my location is by saying "southeastern ohio." I'm always excited to have people from my own state watching and subscribed, and I do find it kinda cool that someone familiar with some of the areas I record in watches. I have had several people that watch my gun videos for example, recognize the range I sometimes shoot at, because they have been there before too. It's awesome to connect with local people and I'm glad to have you as a subscriber. I only ask that you respect my privacy and don't include anything in comments that could aid anyone in finding my general whereabouts, because there are some crazy people out there afterall. You seem pretty cool, so I don't think you're one of those people lol. Matter of fact, I'm kinda interested in chatting with you and seeing if you grew up/live in the same area I do, age etc. In the interest of such, or just if you would like to follow me, add me on instagram if you have it and send me a message. @gunsandcarsyt
      In regards to a bug out vehicle bike, I always thought a Honda XR100 would be perfect (used to have one). You could indeed use the larger versions of these minibikes, and one version of them even comes with racks on the front and rear for cargo. However, external centrifugal clutches as they come with and belt drive systems people often put on these will not handle wet or muddy conditions very well, not to mention not having gears to select really hinders hill climbing ability (which I will be displaying later). Taking all this into account is why I think just a small (name brand) dirtbike would be a much better choice in my opinion. Also they are built much better and can handle a lot more abuse.

      You're good, I know you didn't intend to cause any concerns for me- you were just excited that you recognized what you saw. I stay away from most social media as well. I don't have facebook for example, and youtube was the only form of social media I had for many years. However, sometimes I get into engaging conversations with my viewers/become friends, so I downloaded instagram as a way to communicate with people outside of youtube without transfer of personal email or phone number. You can also upload pictures and short videos on instagram, as well as follow other users that share and post themed content of whatever subjects you like, like guns or go karts or whatever. For example, I post pictures of my guns and cars typically. Never used discord, but I will try to set it up to chat, but no garuntees I will keep it long. I graduated in 05, and I can't say I've ever seen a car in my area that says "mobile mechanic" on the back; but I don't usually follow people, I pass them. I may have seen the vehicle, just not noticed the decal. If you describe the vehicle make/model/color, then I could tell you if I've seen it. And I doubt we know any mutual people because I don't really know anyone in the area's that I record at.

    That screw is ment to be a govener. Limit speed. They do that as a limiter om case your putting a kid on it you can limit how fast they go. 5th grade i had a minibike and chopped up and modify the linkage like crazy to get more throttle. Most of these lil engines have a internal govener in the engine so you dont blow the moter, but i rip them out so i can actually go past 3/4 throttle, if its screaming just dont leave it pinned

      @@BuckeyeBallistics how long do they usually last if you maintain them well?

    • @BuckeyeBallistics
      @BuckeyeBallistics  Před rokem

      Well it depends on how heavy the rider is, the terrain it's driven on, and whether or not the governor or throttle stop have been fiddled with. Also just important as maintenance is proper break-in if it's new. And maintenance doesn't mean just simply changing the oil- but changing it on time with the proper amount of the proper oil, and performing the valve adjustments as per the service manual (I have a video on this, it's easy). Air filter too.
      But in general, if it's not modified, not abused, and properly maintained- they can last for decades. You might have to replace the centrifugal clutch every few years and the brake pads more often, eventually the chain/sprokets perhaps. Worse case scenario though, a new engine is only $100...

      @@BuckeyeBallistics how do you recommend doing the break in period I’ve had it running for close to a week now and I’ve driven it pretty hard for about a 30 minutes a day u recommend a oil change? And is it bad that I’ve went max speed a few times ? I usually drive it up to max speed alot of the time

    • @BuckeyeBallistics
      @BuckeyeBallistics  Před rokem

      Well you're already past the break in period then if you've been driving it that much. You are however supposed to change the oil after only a few hours I believe for the very first oil change, because there will be tiny bits of metal in it from the new engine breaking in so you want to get that out. Refer to the owners manual, but if I recall correctly, it's something like the first 5-10 hours of ride time you change it, then every 90 hours after that.
      They are designed to go full throttle and full speed without any issues (after break in) as long as you don't mess with the throttle screw or governor. I would not have recommended going full throttle and full speed as soon as you got it, but you already did that. Honestly it should be fine though because of the throttle screw and governor I mentioned- provided that they haven't been messed with yet. If you ever modify those to go faster (like I did), don't go full speed for more than a few seconds at a time if you want the engine to last.
