I feel like both Shimo and Godzilla were holding back, Shimo seems peaceful by nature and didn’t want to hurt or kill anyone, Godzilla seemed to just be trying to keep her busy and distracted while Kong dealt with Scar King, once she was free Godzilla didn’t attack her, so I feel like he didn’t want to fight her, but only did to make sure Kong could fight Scar King
I noticed that too when I watched the movie.
Well, when Godzilla used the atomic breath against Skar King he charged that like he wanted to reduce him to ashes, with Shimo he never charged it, and when hit her only did it for seconds, enough to stop her. Pretty sure both held back.
@@Drei.1Actually Godzilla was already using Supercharged Atomic Breath on Shimo. When Godzilla caught the whip he was still in his Supercharged form and when he used Atomic Breath he was still in that form. You can see the difference from Egypt and Rio when using the Atomic Breath and the color of his Dorsal Plate
They’re both iguanids (the kaiju version) Godzilla being a marine iguana, Shimo a Rock iguana. These are both not aggressive by nature, just big lizards. I think they held back too, and Shimo might be useful if fighting Destroyah as he is confirmed to be sensitive to low temperatures.

Godzilla either has no fear or just doesn't show it. Watch him in these movies....he never runs from Shimo....or anything else for that matter. I'm not saying he doesn't get whooped on a couple times...I'm just saying he never willingly gives his enemies a single inch of ground. He's a perpetual motion MACHINE who is always attempting to move forward and attack and has no reverse...even when he's getting stomped by Mecha-Godzilla. Never even attempts to run. I'm not sure I've ever seen any other character like that in any movie ever. It's awesome. For anyone who wonders why the 1998 Godzilla is a garbage Godzilla movie (but an OK silly creature feature) that's a big reason why. Godzilla running from helicopters? Please..
Speaking of the 1998 movie. It soawned a TV-Series, and the Godzilla Junior in that series truly lives up to the name.

Godzilla is one of the most based characters ever conceived
The only time we seen Godzilla exhibit fear was when he was getting his butt kicked by Mecha G while he was exhausted. Shimo can easily be one of Godzilla’s strongest opponents and perhaps did scare Godzilla at their first encounter, but it hasn’t been confirmed who won or if it was a draw, or even their reason for fighting in the first place.
What we do know is that she did freeze Ghidorah and it’s possible the Ice Age was the result of that. we’ve seen Godzilla can endure freezing temperatures and his atomic abilities can counter Shimos with ease. We even seen in the end Godzilla seemingly roaring a command to freeze Scar King and she followed, plus he was able to undo the effects of her Ice Age storm as well with her looking up in awe, meaning she probably didn’t even realize the strength of his atomic abilities.
Right now, I’m just waiting for more information on both Shimo and Godzilla to fill in the blanks.

In the novel, it is also mentioned that the evolved version of Goji is equal to that of Shimo. Maybe both of the alpha titans are aware that if they engage in a world ending battle, somehow, both if them think that it will be pointless because both of their powers can able to rip the planet apart and they don't have any home to dwell in if that happens. It's better tho that both of the reptile giants keep it civil. Shimo is gentle in nature and godzilla is just keeping the world in check.
Godzilla wasn't stated to be on par with Shimo just x20 stronger than his base form. Its apparentl cos even he couldn't keep a conyrolled Shimo in check...she just kept throwin' him off

The Novel mentioned that Shimo dominated Godzilla and she is the ultimate titan.
I think, shimo was indeed holding back if Godzilla was showing any fear it would mean that he was worried about being killed by her frostbite ability after all we're talking about the Ice Age which means there's more information about Hollow Earth like The Greenland Vikings

Respectfully I truly believe godzilla was powering up for something else (star eating kaiju) and just happen to run into kong, shimo, mothra. Essentially in the sequel we will certainly see why godzilla upgraded his power.
I respect that but in truth it was for shimu but maybe your right too but the fact is even if it was for anothe titan the fact that shimo can throw him around and nearly freeze him whole or nearly kill him and just have the strength to fling him around then that should say levels but still it stands she's rhe strongest titan in the monsterverse as of now

@@yoyomayneas far as i saw in the movie she was pretty much getting bullied by godzilla, constantly getting pushed around and physically overpowered. Idk about the novel but as far as the movie goes she seemed kinda weak when compared to godzilla.(although it was pretty clear she would bully kong)

5% of hallow earth has been mapped. Kong dropped one level down and found an entire Kong civilization with Shimo. Also we had that giant Titan skeleton bridge.
Clearly the deeper down you go in hallow earth, the bigger the titans will get. (They have now shown this to us) They have to be close to earth core radiation.

Preparing for a fight dosen't mean you are scared of someone, Its is called precaution Godzilla knew Shimo's strength and abilities so he chose to evolve as there is less hollow earth energy and radiation on the surface of the earth so hadn't much evolved as he was supposed to and compared to Shimo and Hollow Earth and Surface Earth have different timescales.

No it was for this occasion as the novel even states he did this to stand somewhat of a chance against her this may be a hard pill to swallow but as a godzilla fan you gotta accept shimo could have killed godzilla at any point in the movie and by no means was she weak
@@truefactsteller0947 oh, I don’t have any issue with the idea that something else could pose a mortal threat to Godzilla; rather, I just wonder if -Shimo’s real threat-level aside- there isn’t something even more insidious waiting in the wings (pun intended).
Also, not everybody’s going to read the tie-in novel, so I’d be hard-pressed to take anything contained therein as indefatigable fact when the franchise clearly has more rounds in the chamber yet to fire. 🙂

Shimo couldn’t even freeze Kong after he got the infinity gauntlet so to say she would easily kill Godzilla is just silly. She was able to tank Godzillas pink atomic breath and he was able to break out of the ice when she froze him up. I could see her being Godzilla jr’s mom tbh
@@platinumwarrior1309Godzilla evolved to deal with shimo ice breath, also doesn't mean he was completely resistant towards it. Mothra cut off shimo from freezing godzilla completely in hollow earth, she could've kept going untill she herself was close for a killing blow or something you majorly underestimating the power of that beam and what she could do with it
As for kong glove I don't know how it did better then the axe but we can see her ice was starting to over take the glove in the scene. In fact I'm pretty sure we see kong smack ice chunks off it afterwards.

There was no indication that was a command. Shimo looked dazed after being freed from the crystal control for so long. Godzilla likely told Shimo that Skar King is now in Kong's grasp.

To be honest the way the handled Shimo in this movie was underwhelming, for an ancient titan who started the Ice Age who is documented as the first titan, she acted mostly like a dog in this movie, when she was collared by Scarking, after she was released and was unsure on what to do when Godzilla essentially ordered her to freeze scarking in that final fight and at the end where Kong treated her like a mount and even pettes her. She didn't seem menacing at all, all the way to the end for me. Scarking however I feel like we was well executed, his intro was pretty memorable.
She was never MEANT to be seen as menacing, so I don't see your point at all 😂 scar king was and he was the let down

Idk about godzilla being scared the whole final battle he was very aggressive when charging he looked like he's been waiting to put hands on shimo and also when the crystal was broken and kong had skar king shimo was very hesitant on what to do and she looked at godzilla and godzilla roared aggressively with his eyes glowing extra as if he was saying to her "freeze him or else" so idk that's just my thought

My thoughts exactly. He didn’t look scared at any point throughout and once shimo was free it looked like Godzilla gave her the nod to freeze her captor. Idk man the novels are cool n all but they feel so disconnected from the movies it feels like the multiverse in the MCU 😂

It might be hard for Godzilla fans to accept, but he got juiced up more than The Rock, Brock Lesnar and Alistar Overeem combined and he still couldn't overpower her. Shimo, like Kong, obviously has no interest in being the "Alpha" so she had no intention of fighting to the death, luckily for Godzilla...

Some info for the people from the novels. Shimo is called the ultimate or quintessential titan by the iwi. She froze Ghidorah, probably by collateral as she caused the ice age. When Godzilla was frozen by shimo in HE fight, he was helpless as his powers calmed down immediately. Shimo hesitated and then mothra stopped shimo. Shimo can stop atoms. Supercharged evolved Godzilla(the purple glowing form when he was trying to blast skar king) is officially stronger than thermo goji as its stated to be the highest power ever shown by goji. Shimo tanked that attack with no scratches. Shimo and kong have bonded in a way Godzilla and mothra are bonded. She ain't a pet but more like a partner to kong.
Shimo had Godzilla stressed hence him killing Tiamet and taking radiation from wherever he could. Even with all that charge up he still couldn’t hurt her and if it weren’t for mothra he would’ve been frozen.
Godzilla never runs from anyone, not even Shimo. He may be defeated but he never tries to escape like a spineless being. Even Kong, as insanely brave as he is, sometimes tries to save his own life (against Godzilla in GvM and Shimo in this latest movie, sorry that he isn't as durable as Godzilla or Shimo or Ghidorah), but Godzilla never backs away (a proof for that is that he kept fighting Mecha even after the laser beam injured him big time).
He wants to either win or lose as a brave Spartan but never as a coward! In this movie, he is simply overpowered by Shimo and was in pain whenever she throws him or pushes him hard (which no other Titan could do). Shimo is physically much stronger than the base form of Godzilla.
Remember, kong never landed even so much as a single punch on Shimo whereas he punched and kicked Godzilla in GvM (same happened when they fought in Egypt). The reason for that is Kong is simply overwhelmed by the sheer brute strength of Shimo. Kong is an extremely strong Titan but to Shimo his strength is what a strength of a puppy feels like for a fully-grown human being.
To Godzilla, Kong's strength feels like a healthy and strong teen in his 16 fighting a healthy and strong man, the healthy man being Godzilla. The healthy man could beat the teen, but the healthy and strong teen can hand some good punches too!
Thankfully, Shimo doesn't have a horn like a Rhino!
Shimu, Godzilla and Douge are Gojira's. I think titans change drastically in adulthood evolving to better fit their needs
I don't think that shimo was the only one holding back, Godzilla didn't go full bezerk like he did woyh Scylla or even Tiamat, its like he wad trying to tackle or keep shimo down, i didn't even see him biting her, and ge had multiple chances to do so, i genuinely believe that the dirst ice age might have been caused by Godzilla and shimos first battle, tbey exarted way too much energy and eventually the planet just couldn't keep up, but unlike Godzillas radiation, shimos ice wouldn't dissipate as easily, and tgat is probably why they were both holding back in their fight also it's important to note that no one knows how long it took for shimo to completely cause the ice age, so keep tgat in mind

I think Shimon has her own natural instincts she has to go by the planet has had several meteor strikes, and the planet went through more radioactive states millions of years ago, and was heating up constantly seems like Shimo is the very titan that help the planet cool down. Just so happens Godzilla didn't like a titan not listening to him and he lost once seems pretty straight forward
I am a bit confused yes Godzilla and Kong hold different territories but there doesn’t seem to be any animosity between the two or there factions I am not saying a individual couldn’t raise up to cause a problem but I don’t know if a cold war between Kong and Godzilla is necessarily true even in the movie version of Kong v Godzilla Kong wasn’t fighting Godzilla to be the alpha Kong was just pissed Godzilla destroyed his new home and even in the new empire Kong only makes the alpha call to get Godzilla’s attention and ask for help I think it’s way more likely other titans such as Rodan or gigan if he’s in the hollow earth would be in more of a Cold War stage with Godzilla and Kong correct me if I am wrong though
I do like the fact though that there are other titans that can actually overpower Godzilla I know we had mecha Godzilla and gidorah and while I will give credit to mecha gidorah seemed to be an even match for Godzilla not stronger than him and with Kong he can rival Godzilla but that’s with intelligence and strategy all valid skills it’s just cool seeing that Godzilla is not the absolute and only pinnacle of strength with others only being weaker or at his level

In the lore, it’s stated that shimo is peaceful by nature. Also states even in the past shimo was being controlled by scar king but Godzilla beat them and improsoned them deeper in the hollow earth.

Possibly this version of godzilla wouldn't be afraid of her in the past godzilla was pretty awesome because he isn't strong and yet he trapped her with the scar king and i think he charged himself to face something more powerful than shimo

I don't know about this unless its confirmed in the movie novel. The reason for this is because just before Shimo blasts the Skar King with her ice breath she literally looks over towards Godzilla and Godzilla roars at Shimo and flashes pink (Imtimidation display as confirmed in KOTM) almost as if he was barking an order at her to blast the Skar King with her breath. Also there's the fact that Mothra knows that Shimo is active in the hollow earth albeit under control, yet godzilla doesn't look the slightest bit worried in Egypt where I assume Mothra would've told Godzilla who/what is happening below.
I do believe that both Godzilla and Shimo were holding back and that they definitely respect each other due to past events. It wouldn't surprise me if Shimo HAD to cause the ice age because at that time Godzilla wasn't anywhere near as powerful as he is now and was simply buying him more time to get his power levels up by essentially pausing the earth and giving him time to catch up by lessening his work load (either from to many titans getting to the surface or King Ghidorah terraforming the planet). However Godzilla wouldn't be happy about how it was executed by causing to much unbalance causing Shimo and Godzilla to eventually fight.
I think that's a good explanation. I'm also tempted to wonder if Shimo was alpha initially and passed her title to Godzilla when he fought her to a standstill in their first encounter.

Shimo was very weak at GxK because the crystal was causing her pain. If she were at 100%, her power will be far greater than Evolved Godzilla. And she can also amp herself to be even more powerful than she already is.

The Monsterverse Wiki & Goji Wiki state Godzilla imprisoned Shimo along with the Kong army in that Hollow Earth area. In addition, the creative team behind GXK said Godzilla didn't complete his evolution in the film, which means he wasn't operating at his maximum of his Evolved state...
The actual movie states this too..

Wikizilla is wrong. Nothing indicates that Shimo was apart of Skar's original army. In fact the movie itself states that Skar harnessed Shimo's power AFTER he became imprisoned in the subterranean levels of Hollow Earth.

That is incorrect the novel never mentioned Shimo being a part of the war. Skar King found her after, she seemingly was already in the hollow earth.

Kong also fought Evolved Godzilla in Egypt. Shimo froze the entire planet and no one was able to stop her. Shimo at GxK was extremely weak being in pain and enslaved for so long. Now that Shimo is free she can regain her lost strength and even power herself up to solidify herself as the strongest titan.

The novels basically explains that Godzilla was helpless when frozen by shimo. Only reason he survived was because shimo hesitated and then mothra stopped her. Shimo's ice breath stops atoms. G man can't do much if he can't even use his powers or move can he?

That wasn't just some ordinary Ape. That was Skar King. Remember that Skar King and some of his goons almost killed Godzilla w/out Shimo. The only Titan able to hold a crystal in his hands now would be King Kong. It says in the novel that Kong and Shimo have bonded. Similar to Goji and Mothra being family.
I could see in the next film that we witness the bond between Kong and Shimo however this is a Goji film all the way. On the Surface Godzilla could have Destroyah on the horizon. What better way to show Destroyah's power by killing Shimo and have Goji near death for Kong to show up and help Goji because he lost his pet ice dragon.

How about a Man vs Nature plot that causes an ALL out Titan War. Godzilla is fed up over Destroyah's mess and has called his surface titans to send a message to humanity. Kong defends Humanity. After the next GxK film it ends with GvK Titan Wars Volume 1 & 2. We have 2 more films after the Goji centered film.
We could get an all out Titan War w/ Godzilla and his surface titans against Kong and the Great Apes and Shimo. Maybe Kong has a tough Great Ape named Mighty Joe Young as well.
Selling more GvK is a hot ticket that drives the general audience. It would be sad and do we root for our monsters or for Humanity? That would be different than the Avengers. I could see both Goji and Kong dying in the last film. Let's be honest. No way we would live with Titans in real life.

So if Godzilla was afraid it's not of any single enemy or thing, it is he is afraid of what will happen to the Hollow Earth and the world should they escape! I would believe this about Shimo but her comprehension abilities make her seem more animal based instinct and recognize things like a dog rather than how the other titans have shown more consciousness and analytical thinking/problem solving. So I don't think she would be doing this in her head. Also Godzilla was 100 times more powerful than the first encounter. I don't think her ice blast has much effect on his new evolved form.

What we do know is she caused the ice age the same time Godzilla fought Ghidorah. Godzilla already possible weakened from that fight and Shimo POSSIBLE being an alpha herself saw the terraforming that Ghidorah was doing and damage it would do potentially made the ice age as her way to counter Ghidorahs affect on nature🤷 plausible and yet just a theory too.
