I saw this theory on reddit, it ALL makes sense now. Windgard saying this next movie is gonna be like godzilla x Kong level threat but for a Godzilla only movie. Space Godzilla is the PERFECT next villain for MV.

Wait hod this supposed version of Space G come into play anyway? Is it like his Toho Origin where he mutated in space by getting sucked in through a black hole and being sucked out into a white hole. And Space G is basically mutated version of Biolante Godzilla's half plant sister.

Turns out the plot twist is Doug the psudo zilla evolves into a true titan, and fights off Space Godzilla simply by being too smooth brained to be mind controlled.

Just an idea. What if the phrase "Eating a star" didn't actually refer to just consuming too much radiation, but to an ancient Godzilla finding and consuming a radioactive meteorite, making the phrase "eating a star" much more literal in meaning?

So they've set up Destoroyah in KotM with the oxygen destroyer. They just set up Space Godzilla in GxK. The Monsterverse is just printing money at this point and I'm all here for it.

He doesn't have any particularly strong feats of power, he doesn't have a personality, and all of his thematic relevance kinda doesn't matter in the monsterverse because the Oxygen Destroyer was just haphazardly tossed into Kotm as fanservice which greatly diminished its meaning both thematically and in-universe
Godzilla vs Space-Godzilla was the very first Godzilla movie I watched when I was 8, I am now 34 and I still remember the sheer brutality of that fight. If Space-Godzilla is going to be the next big bad, I hope filmmakers do it justice.

I watched the movie around the same time. I think he had more feats than Destroyah took two to take him down basically a Mechagodzilla And a nearly transformed burning Godzilla ! so Godzilla was at the height of his power without it causing him to go into meltdown mode. Mogera and Godzilla Almost lost that fight.
Absolutely, Adam Wingard will do it justice. Look at Godzilla vs Ghidorah... That battle is epic af.
I was astounded that we didn't get it during the anti gravity fight scene, but maybe they're saving the Godzilla dropkick for use against Space Godzilla, who probably will also be messing up gravity to allow it to make *some* degree of sense.

I really, REALLY hope a Space Godzilla movie is serious and not a “turn your brain off and watch monsters fight” movie like GvK and GxK is. I get that it gets much more money than serious movies like KOTM and G1 but it would be boring plot wise. Me and many other people want actual GOOD writing and lore! I hope this is the last movie we see of “don’t take it seriously just watch them duke it out”.

I believe this was misinterpreted, also something interesting is that is termed by the Iwi as absorbing energy and is not an event solely having to do with Godzilla, in the lore there was a Gojira that ate a star and went mad, I believe this is Spacegodzilla.

I think yall are looking for old school Kaijus.... I don't think that's going to happen. Having new Kaijus as the main villains might be where this is going from now on. I dont think that's a bad thing either. If I'm wrong that's good too. That's what I love about this Monsterverse over all these other Godzilla movies there is more involvement with other Kaiju. The possibilities are endless.

I remember that mural of the Kongs and Gojira fighting a Blue Gojira with wings, back in the day researchers said that a lot of times cave people would draw a flying being with wings to represent that it’s flying. Which makes sense due to no space lines on caves. At the end of the day it just comes down to the studio paying for his licensing and the story. Because from what I heard, mothra wasn’t supposed to be in GxK but they added her due to confusion in test screenings
This movie is a perfect way to end the MV with space Godzilla. Especially with the “anti gravity” in the movie.

@@VeerSingh00016i would rather it end before it gets too drawn out, the MCU worked because there was so many stories to tell, and while yes there's many stories to tell with Goji and Kong, I don't see it lasting more than a few more films, the final one probably being decently long, and if I were to guess, it'll use Destoroyah.

What I like about this is it makes sense! In the first movie they had a passing quote about there being three godzillas. Godzilla Himself, Dagon and a third Godzilla. If we go along this line, what if the gravity of the pyramids kept this evil Godzilla deep underground.

@@Mrvsg20 destroyah is a mutated crustaceans colony from the bottom of the ocean that began evolving at a rapid pace after the oxygen bomb was detonated in an attempt to kill Godzilla , his main attack is an oxygen beam that is like a laser version if the bomb so he is a very tough opponent for Godzilla

But given how godzilla barely survived the oxygen destroyer, i wouldn't be surprise if they do have Kong save him from destroyah or humanity.

GXK Movie spoiler: In GXK the new empire when this is talked, they weren’t talking about another, but were actually talking our Godzilla who ate a star, and banished the Skar king into the hollow earth, for it was made very clear that the Titan war wasn’t between multiple titanous Kong’s and multiple Godzilla’s, but in fact it was only multiple titanous Kong’s, and our 1 Godzilla. Now here’s the interesting thing. Godzilla was depicted flying in one scene where they showed the very next part of the story. But then Godzilla was back on the ground and was banishing Scar king, and Shimo. That’s where I’m still trying to figure that part out.
Well we know he was smaller in the past, so not impossible Mothra gave him a boost up to drop him towards the apes
we also know that the hollow earth tribe had some sort of device to allow low gravity and there are naturally lower gravity areas in the hollow earth

Also they say that the ancient battle took place between the Godzilla species and the Kong species, and now that Kong has discovered some apes, it's possible that there are other Godzillas out there in the hollow earth? They say that they've only mapped out 5% of the hollow earth.
Also it's curious that they never made an effort to find other Godzilla species. Kong has always been in the lookout for another one of his kind. Godzilla is also alone but he ain't concerned or looking for someone of his kind.
It could be possible that the Gojira species operates similar to real life lizards (i forgot the species) but there’s ones that are very territorial and like to live alone until it is time to reproduce and this movie established pretty heavily that Godzilla is very territorial and likes to live alone so Id assume we’ll see a female zilla when Gman gets bricked up

Only complaint I had with Godzilla x Kong is that the stakes never felt that high. Godzilla and Kong pretty much tore up stuff. They were clearly more powerful than their adversaries.
Wave, mothra is basically a psychic incarnate. This thing lays eggs and rises like a phoenix if that aint some psychic mumbo jumbo yall buggin. as well as discerning friend and foe in the middle of a fight. plus she knows exactly what godzilla needs when he needs it and she is always able to help him no matter the circumstance.
What if the Monster verse of the Space Godzilla is the male partner of Shimu, and the Cristal that Skar used was part of the Crown on his head? And he is still trapped in a deeper cave at the center of earth

In several of the Godzilla comics, SpaceGodzilla's crystal formations are a form of energy infused quartz. Energy that is multi-purpose including gravity control and devastation. In the comics, SG is referred to as the King of the Quartz due to his world ravaging might and connection with the quartz which almost seems to have a essence of its own. so, "Swallowing a Star", could refer to a Gojira finding a meteorite of this quartz, consuming it, and the Quartz taking over from within, fusing with the Gojira's body and mutating it into a being that can embody it's world altering and shattering power. So, yeah, SG does seem to be a prime fit for the next challenger.
Alternative plot idea for a sequel, Space Godzilla similar to gxk Godzilla was an earlier godzilla that used hollow earth energy to evolve to defeat Ghidorah, it grew crystals and gained gravity powers and threw Ghidorah into the ice to freeze it. Ghidorah originally came to earth to consume the 'star' as well because it wanted to power up its own anti gravity powers. Space Godzilla then flies off earth to try and find Ghidorah's home world to prevent further invasion from the Ghidorah species.
Space Godzilla senses Ghidorah's return in KoTM and heads back to earth to get rid of Ghidorah once and for all, it plans on going back to hollow earth to power up by consuming the iwi tribe's crystals. Everbody else thinks that Space Godzilla is an extra terrestrial threat as monarch senses Ghidorah's power from it as it descends to earth wreaking havoc on our nuclear reactors, absorbing radiation all over the world, it pisses off Godzilla who goes and confronts it.
Godzilla gets owned and is made to submit to the new alpha and is spared, Godzilla retreats to antartica to Tiamat's old lair to recover and power up. Space Godzilla makes its way to hollow earth to absorb the Iwi crystals, faces off against Kong and Shimo, Mothra intervenes allowing Space Godzilla to win at the price of Space Godzilla sparing Kong and Shimo.
Space Godzilla makes its way back to the surface, its radiation is off the charts Monarch assumes the earth's only hope is for the newly powered up pink Godzilla to defeat Space Godzilla and consume all its radiation before it causes a planetary extinction level self explosion. The fight almost looks even, but Space Godzilla has the upper hand with its gravity powers, it levitates Godzilla up into the air, about to finish him off with a mid air version of the Kiss of Death until... Ghidorah's iconic screech is heard and 3 yellow anti gravity lightning beams strike Space Godzilla, indirectly saving Godzilla from the Kiss of Death, the Ghidorah threat that was detected by Monarch all this time wasn't Space Godzilla whom they thought was extra terrestrial, but Keizer Ghidorah, (a more quadrapedal dragon like kaiju unlike the KoTM Ghidorah who was more wyvern like) who followed Space Godzilla back to earth to consume the hollow earth energy source.
Kong and Shimo make it to the surface which pisses off Godzilla for not staying in hollow earth, Space Godzilla uses his Alpha roar to order Godzilla to subjugate Kong and Shimo, while Space Godzilla and Keizer Ghidorah face off. This time Kong and Shimo's teamwork over powers Godzilla, but now Mothra intervenes again and makes them realise they have to team up against Keizer Ghidorah who is the main threat.
Meanwhile Keizer Ghidorah has the upper hand in its fight against Space Godzilla, who's gravity powers are nullified by Keizer Ghidorah's own gravity powers and rapid regeneration. Kong, Shimo and Godzilla now come in to aid Space Godzilla who is now revealed to be the original protector of nature as the monster that ate a star. Kong chops off Ghidorah's wings and whilst regenerating cannot evade Shimo's ice blast, Godzilla becomes radioactively unstable and on the verge of exploding, which could be catastrophic for the earth, Godzilla grapples onto Ghidorah. Ghidorah is about to break free from his ice prison, but Space Godzilla is able to use his gravity powers on Godzilla who is holding tightly onto Ghidorah, they are both lifted outside of earth's atmosphere by Space Godzilla. Godzilla reaches critical mass and explodes, taking out Keizer Ghidorah with him, Godzilla dies as the posthumous hero.
Epilogue: Space Godzilla returns to space, who knows if he'll return, Kong and Shimo return to the Hollow Earth, the Iwi tribe rebuild their domain. Somewhere in the Atlantic ocean a large egg hatches inside some ancient ruins, giving birth to another Godzilla creature, Godzilla Jr and the effects of the oxygen destroyer has mutated ancient colonies of crustaceans on the ocean floor that are able to migrate through to the hollow earth through a vortex on the bottom of the ocean. With the absence of a Godzilla as the surface protector, Monarch has been given a green light to recommence the project of constructing a mechanical titan that evokes Godzilla's alpha call, the project name is KIRYU.
Would be interesting, I could see it, would follow the path of previous movies where there is a marketed villian and a secret villian that everyone has to team up against, however I am unsure if this would work mainly because I think people would first off, hate to see OG Godzilla die, and secondly, would the baby Godzilla even have enough time to grow up big enough to fight Destroyah

Sounds cool, especially with the ending of kiryu, however in Tohos agreement with Legendary, Legendary is not allowed to kill off Godzilla in the western movies, so something else could be incorporated to have a different outcome

Taking into consideration that, for any Toho characters to appear in the Monsterverse, Legendary must pay rather large licensing fees for each character they use, it is extremely unlikely that Space Godzilla, Destoroyah, Biollante or any other Toho kaiju will be appearing any time soon. They already shelled out for Mothra, Ghidorah and Rodan, which are highly recognizable and pivotal characters, to add to the draw of the franchise to US audiences in its earlier stages, but I have little doubt they're going to stick to creating their own characters for the Monsterverse, ones for which they own the copyrights.
That is the sad part because, Rodan basically was nothing could have used his budget for another main villian like gigan,spacegodzilla,hedorah etc etc. With that being said I hope they keep being creative with original monsters. I would love for them to add Gryphon or Quetzalcoatl i doubt that makes it to HQ desk.. I do believe when its time for the FINAL film in the franchise before they start over years later. They'll have enough to finance Destroyah.
I like that the current Goji and Kong aren’t the only ones but are the latest in their line to ascend to this level.
We know about 3(-ish) different Gojis that existed
- the prospective Space-goji
- Dagon
- possibly ones shown in paintings could be separate from the one we know (the one shown fighting kongs ancestor and the one who sealed Ghidora)

I agree, I think the next movie should focus more on Godzilla and I'm glad that Adam Wingard has PERSONALLY recognised this and acknowledged it, showing that the filmmakers indeed DO listen to the fanbase concerns. Godzilla was super cool in this movie, but he didn't do all that much except basically killing bad guys. I mean, he is their Superman to Kongs Batman remember that. But it would be nice to do a movie with more character development of Godzilla, as he is so insanely destrucitve, it will probably be harder for many governments to accept him. There are two ways this could go:
1. Space Godzilla is the threat he's been gearing up for.
2. We go BACK To the idea of humans being the villains. Alex Ferns character says in the movie 'more money and no monsters, who could possibly want that?". This would pave way for the most evil human to ever share the screen with Godzilla and Kong: Colonel Archie Nevitt from "King Kong Lives" (he was the only good thing about that movie, and the MV has yet to feature a TRULY menacing human villain so Nevitt would fill the gap perfectly. Imagine Miles Quaritch from Avatar with a Hitler moustasche and you get this guy!
Give him Mecha King Ghidorah to pilot and you'll have the fight of the century. Funny enough, Alex Ferns actually bears a resemblance to John Ashton, so he would've been a great fit for this character to be honest, but I got another actor in mind: Brendan Cowell (the whaler from Avatar 2). What's one more guy who loves torturing animals for him to play?
I dont like him to direct next movie..its almost like he hate Godzilla..last two movie both villain got killed by Kong, even in GXK, Kong k.o Godzilla, even after Godzilla got a power from nuke and Tiamat... Pls bring someone else to direct next movie.

@abrahamsamuel2952 The novels also established that there were tunnels leading to the Hollow Earth on Skull Island, yet the movies say they needed to take Kong off the island.
Unfortunately books are never strict canon to films. Like I said though, at this point it's clear the writers know they don't need to worry about consistency or logic in their films. All they have to do is bash monsters together and that's all it takes to satisfy the fandom.

The one problem I see in this theory is that this creature wouldn't exactly be SPACEgodzilla. Just, powerful crystal godzilla. The signs are there, but it's possible the source of radiation could have come from elsewhere. Perhaps not from below, but from above...

@@IronDroid925 Godzilla getting his powers from a nuclear bomb isn't correct. Godzilla is millions of years old the species in general has the atomic powers it's the whole reason why the Kong's built axes to counter it in the war which happened either thousands or millions of years ago.
Plus I don't think Godzilla species has to get powers I think they have it naturally but the iwi just described there breath that it's as if they ate a star but it may not be literally. But if they did have to obtain powers from a source Godzilla getting his powers from a bomb wouldn't make sense because earth has radiation naturally he would have obtained it millions of years ago just from the earth it's.

Eh… i do feel like the Godzilla in the cave painting is the Godzilla we know, considering the blue energy and the wings, akin to mothra. Maybe he simply shrinks when he runs low on radiation, which is how he got to his Monarch appearance

If it will focus on Godzilla, then that further strengthens the theory that the next villain is SpaceGodzilla. Perhaps the two of them could be related, or maybe SpaceGodzilla will try to recruit Godzilla. Or perhaps SpaceGodzilla will defeat Godzilla and replace him as Alpha. Maybe Godzilla will be forced to absorb the Hollow Earth energy to try to defeat SpaceGodzilla, but in the process, slowly lose his sanity as well. The ending of the movie would not be as happy as GxK’s, but instead showing us a victorious Godzilla, with something clearly wrong with his behavior.
And that could Segway into a Burning Godzilla story, OR something akin to the tone of the original 1954 film: an ancient creature given abominable power with no choice in mind, stomping about the world in a frenzied, wrathful agony.
And the only one to stop him would be Kong. The only Titan to have spent a great margin of his life battling and fighting alongside the King of the Monsters, all whilst surviving unlike Monster Zero. And at last, he wins, of course at great bodily costs, maybe losing his fur or a limb. Maybe he even gets his lightning powers.
I don’t think it would go that way bc when goji absorbed mothra’s dust she gave Godzilla a way to ventilate the excess radiation when he was nuked, and in his new pink form I think mothra will have to sacrifice herself again to allow Godzilla to go thermo again so he can expel more of that radiation
To add on to your idea, Godzilla powering himself up to such an extent to take down Space Godzilla could then lead to him not being able to handle all that radioactive power, soon becoming burning Godzilla. This would set up his fight with Destoroya well.

It seemed that Shimu was actually under a mind control spell that can be seen being broken when the crystal is shattered in the final battle. Her eyes instantly lose the blue glow! A glow that was not directly related to only pointing the crystal at her. I could be misremembering, but I thought the prophecy was that a Gojira who "Ate a Star" was the one that would save them? and during the movie, Godzilla kills Tiamat to absorb the solar radiation in the ice inside Tiamat's domain. Maybe the place in the hollow earth that they used to banish him was a portal/spacial tear created via gravity manipulation. They thought they obliterated SG, but they really just sent him somewhere else in the cosmos. That way, he can return by flying to our planet from space, so he can keep his name. Space Godzilla sounds a lot better to me than Meth Head Hollow Earth Godzilla.
Considering his new origin I think the new Spacegodzilla should either be called Stargodzilla or Crystalgodzilla

I thought it was referring to Godzilla having taken a bite out of Gidorah after he beat him since he was seen moving his mouth and a little bit of yellow electricity was shown. Also that it was a huge revelation that Gidorah was actually from space because it came out unharmed after the oxygen destroyer hit. And in the scene when they said ‘the one who ate the star’ panned over to a depiction of the Gidorah battle (from what I remember)

Hey i know this is random regarding the movie. But i feel like it was a couple of hints for a solo godzilla movie. For one kong has a family now, a friend (shimo) and a son and him and godzilla dont interact with each other unless they on the other's territory. Amd godzilla typically sleeps somewhere under water or in a cavern. But this movie he slept in side of the roman building. None of the previous movies he done that. So i mean if he knows its a threat coming he always try to be whereever it is or at least near the area. Also the ate the star thing was a perfect pitch to your idea of a space godzilla as well. But if it is a new movie coming it will be like godzilla and Mothra though. So its going to be something strong to say the least. That and obviously the hollow earth thing seems like it ended well. So space seems like the next worthy thing or going back to the 2nd movie making it around the oxygen destroyer bomb.

I was gonna say They've set up both Space godzilla and Destroyah. In King of Monsters they dropped the H2O bomb which irradiates a bunch of crab things at the bottom of the ocean and it eventually has them come together to form Destroyah. So I'm thinking the next to movies are those at least.

I have a prediction if the next movie does include this space godzilla/zo zlaw howa or whatever. Godzilla and kong will teamup most likely and we might even see shimo join the fight. Also mothra is still alive. I can also personally see a gigan and megalon coming back. If gigan was in the movie it would prob team up with space godzilla. Also im pretty sure ghidorah is still not the last of his kind. Atleast from what I heard ghidorah was sent by another ghidorah from another planet. Which can also lead to monster x and keizer ghidorah making a return. A destoroyah return is also very likley i can see in like the next 3 movies
I just had another thought. What if "eating a star" might be a reference to the burning powerup Godzilla used back in 2019 to defeat Ghidorah? In that form, Godzilla is so hot that he's basically like the sun, so the phrase eating a star referring to Godzilla consuming a large amount of radiation referred to him being powered up by Mothra, or just eating so much radiation that e got supercharged?

If we go based off of the mural of the blue flying gojira against the kongs and gojira, there is already then a confirmed gojira other than godzilla himself, cause if you look at the mural, there is kongs and 2 godzillas in red vs a blue flying gojira. This 2nd godzilla cant be shimo because we already saw in another mural that shimo has a design difference that separates her from godzilla. So this 2nd godzilla is either in a state of hibernation kind of, or something similar.
It would be very fitting for the next film. Skar King was a good foil to Kong and Space Godzilla is a good foil to Godzilla. Kong and Godzilla teaming up against Space Godzilla is a great way for Kong to return the favor to Godzilla. Even though Godzilla sensed the danger of Shimo and was preparing to fight her, he wasn’t really expecting Skar King. If the next film is more Godzilla focused, New Empire does set up Space Godzilla well.
read GVK novel, there is reference to the lizard that ate a star in it as well. I don't think it is space godzilla at all. It is about Godzilla and it's power. The power beyond their primitive understanding, they see how the stars shine, and notice how Godzilla was able to spit fire the same color as the stars, so it is logical they made a correlation.
