Charlie is happy you guys are keeping this channel going .
I second that.
The real treasure of the Superstitions are the unique geography and lost mine mythology
Another great Mysteries tale. Thanks guys… I believe Charlie is proud 🥲
Absolutely stoked for this new video…thanks all. This channel got me adding a new hobby to my list of hobbies🤣🤣🤣. I want to join a historical society and some sort of museum as a part fun thing to do. Love treasure metals stones and minerals in general. We like just listening to stories of days long ago, and learn more about our local history in depth
Great video: I grew up in Nogales Az , it was my home town. I also spent a few years living very close to Tubac and the Tumacacori Mission. It was one of the missions Father Kino established. The native peoples loved Father Kino. I got to enjoy the true treasure. That is all the surrounding hills, canyons and country side along with tons of camping and horseback riding the remote back trails and drinking natural spring water and well water on the remote ranches.
Umm umm good tasting water.
Thanx gents another great story and it just started
Great story
I love hearing these stories.
Awesome! Yesterday I watched about 20 mins of a discovery channel show about your location, the only real moment was when the other fellah on this channel talked to em.The rest of the bit I watched was redic drama queens. Ive been watchin this channel for a long time much better!
Another great informative tale .Especially like the rolling eyes punctuation Hank adds to the tale.
Great stuff , I learned of father Kino in grade school, San Xavier "the white dove". We were taught of the early discoveries of Coronado, and conqiustadors searching for the 7 cities of Cibola. The Hohokam canals, Casa Grande ruins, and of course the 3Cs of Arizona, copper cattle citrus. We knew of the state bird, cactus wren and the state flower, saguaro cactus bloom , all before 2nd grade...and of course we knew of the mighty superstitions and the dutchman. My brother and I were out in the supers in the late 60s, as soon as we could drive.
Another great story from the best channel on you Tube. Thank you gentlemen .
Great history presentation!
I so enjoy listening to Mr. Sheffer's talks. He tells & explains the history with a touch of humor. Thank you
I miss Frank. I can't wait till the resurrection when I will get a chance to express my thanks for all the work he did for the best show on utube about the superstitious mountains. He was taken from us way to soon. 😢
LOVE this series.
You should do an episode on the snakes of the Superstition Mountains. I think there are a lot of unique ones there
You guys do a fantastic job, thank you!
Excellent guys. Thanks for posting this nice surprise. Enjoyable and informative delivered with a philosophical message. Kino hasn't been covered and this episode is refreshing. Thanks Larry, Hank and crew. Lvya
You should do one on when Billy the Kid killed Windy Cahill in a fight at Fort Grant AZ.
Another good story, thanks guys. I had the pleasure of visiting the Superstition Mountain Museum from Bloomington, MN, on 01/20/22, and although I didn't see any of our friends from this channel, I have to say it's a great place. Very interesting content and lots of nice volunteers. I saw the stamp mill run at 1 p.m. and enjoyed the commentary by the operators. If you have a chance to visit the museum, don't pass it up, it has some great historical artifacts such as treasure maps, antique weapons, and the bios of numerous Dutch Hunters. I'll stop again some day for sure.
This is one of the best stories about Jesuit Gold I have ever heard. Thank you very much, all of you in putting this story together on the Jesuits.
This is one of the most entertaining stories about Father Kino, great photos, and detailed maps with notable history Throughly enjoyed this video along with numerous anecdotes about other characters in Superstition lore.
Thanks again, guys!

Nicely done , directly expressed. Gun Happy, No Treasure, don't go off out into the Remote Desert Wilderness, Yeah Good Idea.
yeah, incredible .takke care!:))
One of the first places we visited was the big Kino church .. all whitewashed and beautiful ..Inside I think it was a dirt floor ? It's been near 60 years ago... There was so much to see and do...
Those are great area's to search for lost treasures but, not in these times.
Great video. I consider much of the tales of the southwest to be the same as Victorian era history almost everywhere, inaccurate.
Arizona wouldn't be Arizona without them wonderful moo moo cows... Coming from Ohio 1964 we were ready to pee our pants just to get here and see it all. And Apache Land too ... I cried when I rode on the drop side of Apache trail. I crawled down his and cried and begged to walk up. Big rocks in the road and that drop... I had never seen the big mountains before ... What a wienie huh?
There were 3 types of Indian settlements. Rancharia, Visita and Mission. Once a Rancharia built a church, a house for the Padre, a storehouse and filled it with grain then it was elevated to a Visita, indicating it was ready to have a Padre assigned to it thereby becoming a Mission. Missions were expensive to establish. Rich aristocrats in Spain were recruited to become Mission Patrons, each one adopting a mission and providing the money needed to build it up and keep it going.
There were many Visitas in Arizona because of the Apache. The aristocrats were unwilling to put their money into building up a mission only to have the Apaches swoop down and destroy it all. So they supported the Baja Visitas instead because that area was peaceful. That's why Baja had so many missions. It's a shame the Franciscans decided to abandon them after the Jesuits were expelled in 1767. Most were self supporting and a few were prosperous. Without their beloved padres, the Indians wandered away and the missions fell into ruin.
I did some more reading on the subject. Fr. Kino's 1st love was his missions in Baja. The reason he was in Arizona is because he was trying to discover a land route to Baja. He was the first European to see the Colorado River delta, and prove California (Baja) was a peninsula. It was always thought to be an island, until Fr. Kino's discovery. He blazed the first Spanish trail across the desert to San Diego. When he crossed the Colorado River just north of present day Yuma, Fr. Kino ran into the Mojave Indians. They were a fierce, warlike tribe and he was forced to give up his dream of a land route to Baja since it would have to go through Mojave land. In Arizona Kino's visitas were built down the Santa Cruz River to the Gila and down the Gila to the Colorado. He was never in the Superstitions because there was no reason for him to be there.
great video guys . i don't agree with everything but who ever dose ....lol
And if you actually find something then you have to deal with the United States Government and that's scary in itself 😆
I like storys
LIKE ,LIKE,LIKE
Didn't they find a Jesuit cave on that TV show "legend of the superstition mountains"?
Gun Happy?. Yeah if I was camped out there I would be very happy to have a gun with me.
Those holes are formed by nature originally at least. I've seen thousands and many are clearly not something that would have been useful to grin maize or whatever. They call a group of large sized ones near Saratoga Wyoming the Indian bathtubs.
I've never Been to the superstitious mountains. Yet they tell me that I've buried treasure there? 😆😆😆😆
Who was the Apache gold that their spirits
I enjoy your channel, but at the beginning of this video you talked down to a chunk of your subs.
I found documentation that proves Jesuits had 1 mission north of the Gila River.
Ivan
Let’s see it!
Just an fyi, San Xavier the X is pronounced with an H sound
Well I have a secret that very few people know about. Once word spreads about this thing it's going to be all hell breaking loose bc the technology is much better now to find gold.
👍👍👍👍☕☕🍩🍩
Yeah treasure exists but they will kill too protect it
There is no treasure.
Jesuits sold the peralta's 14 mines located near diablo canyon in the superstitions So this video is a bit incorrect! Yes the jesuits had treasure in superstitions!
