Finally got this one to work. Tips: Eagle Day 4 - If Eagle doesn't move his B-copter to the left to attack stuff near the airbase on this day, then restart. The video has him move the B-copter left on Day 5, but that makes things harder. Andy Day 5 - Don't advance your T-copters to the airbase island. Instead, put all three T-copters on the island with the neutral cities. Leave two of them still loaded and within range of his B-copter and fighter. He won't pass up an opportunity to kill loaded T-copters. Unload the third one nearby to bait the bomber. Also, don't attack the tank. Otherwise, follow the video. You need to drop off 3 loaded T-copters at his HQ on Day 7 for the plan to work.
After a few attempts at this level, I realised that I was never ever going to do it until I found this YT vid.....and thank you very much pal, mission accomplished 👍🏻👍🏻😄
You are a godsend, this worked perfectly. In fact, it worked on my first try cause I followed your steps exactly and Eagle did the exact same moves as in the video- though I assume I just got lucky and got the same seed first try? Also for people asking, this MUST be done on classic. On casual the middle infantry will capture a city on turn 1 instead of the airport, causing eagle to spawn his bomber and fighter closer to base meaning they will destroy your front copters instead of the back ones.

I've been attempting it for about an hour and the tank and AA Eagle builds on day 5 split and go north and south, which makes it impossible to protect the capturing mech on day 8. Everything else plays out exactly as it does in the video except for the behavior of these two units.
dang, I wish I saw this earlier, I usually use old s rank videos as guides and as soon as I realized I could just get mid airport and block his stuff/hq cap I went for it, took me 30 days after the first push failed, thank god for reset turn because I would have cried ALSO BECAUSE IT SAVES YOUR TURN YOU CAN QUIT THE GAME DURING ENEMY TURN TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS AND THEN RESET YOUR TURN UPON RELOADING

finally did it. had to improvise the last turn using two transports and an infantry to block the southern bridge but got it i tried doing this map legit once and what the actual what is eagle's starting advantage geez XD i think i also tried it once back on GBA before giving up
Is this classic difficulty? When I did this on Casual, the middle infantry took a city instead of the airport, so I was able to grab the airport myself.
@@delta9-87 are u sure it's Classic (normal) difficulty? because the enemy fighter Jet never falls for the back T Copter bait and his B copter is always in a different spot for me on both Classic and Casual difficulties. i know Challenge mode in the originals were different but i suspect that it was changed in the reboot camp because of how hard it was and now it is just a slightly harder version of the mission than Classic difficulty.
I get to the point where i can get 3 trnasports to the end but eagles antiair and tank always come back to cover his HQ. After like 20 attemps making the exact moves shown I'm not sure what to change.

It can be done. The key is the start of the round. build 2 transp copters and move both mechs on to the island with 3 cities. Capture the cities for income. Next, build ONLY 2 infantry that will move north or south slowly. On the next day, because you saved your money the previous turn, you have enough for a fighter. That's where a bomber will start to hunt your mechs but you just use transp copters to block them and send your fighter to control the middle. From that point, slowly find a chance to take the aiport in the center of the map while sending road blocks plus 1 or 2 arties up or down depending on where he send his troops from. Once you control the central airport, use it to take control of the top and bottom of the map, not forgetting to send small tanks and arties here and there(I suggest focusing on either top or bottom first then the other after, don't split your troops too much or you might take too long) Remember to build infantries, many tanks and also a few arties once you dominate the central air space. Slowly creep your troops towards his HQ and kill all his troops. Tips: 1)Don't give in to temptation to spend all your money on 1 bomber, you can allocate your money to... -2 tanks and 1 anti air/arty if you are winning -1 fighter and 2 infantry if you need more air space control -1 Battle copter, 2 tanks if you need more ground control 2) Remember to join units especially if you think a unit will get destroyed in 1 hit with the remaining hp. Try to get 2 or 3 of Eagle's units to attack it to destroy it, that way you have more space to counter on your turn. Also, it controls technique score. 3) Make sure that once you take control, you balance out your army. Sometimes, if you have 1 fighter and you are dominating, Eagle just has to build a fighter to subdue you like a little bitch, trust me, been there. If that happens, you lose technique points and you get set into a position where you need to struggle to regain control which hurts the speed score and when you take longer, Eagle builds more units and makes the power score harder to increase. 4) Don't always give in to temptation to finish off a unit, set the unit to about 1 or 2 hp and Eagle will pull it back for repairs, not only damaging his income, but also leaving a few units at low hp for you to finish off later, all in the same turn to get a better power score. Pardon the lengthy reply, the time allowance for 100 speed is 23 days. I cleared his troops on days 24 with 100 technique and 100 power for the juicy S rank
I’m getting this weird issue where turn 1 the airbase island infantry doesn’t try to cap the airport and it throws off the whole strategy. Any ideas? Edit: apparently this was because I had the game set to casual (because let’s face it: I am one). Apparently this causes unfavorable RNG on turn 1 every time which messes up the whole strategy (sounds strange but it happens)
THIS IS NOT FAIR, I FOLLOWED ALL OF YOUR INSTRUCTIONS BUT ON DAY 1 HE CAPTURES THE CITY FIRST AND NOT THE AIRPORT AND I LOSE EVERY TIME, DID THEY UPDATE IT OR SOMETHING?
I really did try to do this mission without doing this and something goes wrong every time. Eagle has way too much of a lead over you to try and do anything differently.
@@gladd8869 ofcourse you need fighters/intercepters to destroy his air units on the airport and his other air stuff lol. but with 2 fighters , you can kill of his blocking unit and then you can place a trans heli with an infantry unit on it in order to capture it. At the end of the battle , I had like 4-6 fighters. I took control of the south with 1 artillery 1 anti air and 1 heavy tank. Just use the bridge wisely lol. It wasn't very easy , but it is do-able lol.

Looks like commentary stopped and he just focuses on mario now. I was watching from the minecraft days and saw a video pop up. Idk what happened but since they didn’t stop youtube entirely im sure they’re doing fine.
missions like this are poorley made im fine with the ai having a big advantage but it doesnt have to start him in cap range of every neutral spawner on the map aswel feel like this guide wouldn't of been as nessasery if those three troops spawned at his hq instead
Theres no way for more to replicate this. The AI never captures the forwarded airbase, which means his Bombers and Fighters are closer to his HQ making it impossible to use this tactic. Tried it for 2 hours doing everything PIN POINT exactly the same. I dont get it. Fucking annoys me. And when trying it normally without HQ cap you just get overwhelmed around day 28ish. Most stupid mission based soly on RNG.
This doesn’t work. Over 23 attempts and not once does he go for the airport in the middle always a city. This leads to him always have a fighter jet and copper hanging out at his base no matter what. Please make a new video to fix this issue and show us how to beat it.

Worked great for me, so your comment gets a down vote. Took me a few resets, a difficulty change and a couple of failures on my own part like making the infantry on the wrong base, but this is a great find.

Took me a couple tries but I got it to play out exactly like this as well.
Finally got this one to work. Tips:

Thanks for the pointer on difficulties, because his infantry was taking the city and i was getting steam rolled by the bombers and fighters up front.

I beat it on the original GBA version but it has been years. I wanted to get this one over with as quickly as possible this time around.
Is this classic difficulty? When I did this on Casual, the middle infantry took a city instead of the airport, so I was able to grab the airport myself.

For me, Eagle isn’t taking the airport in the centre. What should I do? Should I change the strategy and take it?
Try swapping the difficulty mode. In classic they seem to take the airport while on casual they go for the city. It at least that changed it for me.

I defeated eagle on classic , without this cheap hq capturing tactic lol. You just need to capture the mid airport and hold at 1 side of the map
