- UKRAINIAN border guards shell multiple Russian military units hiding in a village in Donetsk in this explosive footage.
The National Guard of Ukraine said they destroyed four BTR-82 armoured personnel carriers, two MT-LB armoured vehicles, a T-72 battle tank, and a BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle.
The Ukrainian military added that they also “found” around 20 Russian soldiers with the equipment in the village in the Donetsk region.
The National Guard of Ukraine said on 4th June: “Guards destroyed the enemy's BMP and almost the entire platoon of occupiers in the Donetsk region. Seven more units of enemy military equipment were disabled."

Russia is taking this action to protect it's national security as it is already surrounded by NATO and US weapon systems. You should probably do a bit of research, this has been on the cards for the last 15 years. Russia won't accept Ukraine being a launch pad for NATO and US weapons for the same reason the USA wouldn't accept Russia having missiles in Mexico and Canada. @@allanbartlett6465 while im not going to discredit the ukranian artiliry they are doing fantastic work these are indicative of GPS guided shells. Typical dumb artillery will land within 30m of the first shot etc wind etc makes a big difference when the shell is going 10-30-50 miles one swift strong crosswind will send that shell up to 50-100m or more off target.
Gps shells have fins like a cruise missle kinda on them that open after firing and a gps sensor on its head. The fins help the shell move in air depending on what the gps sensor is targeting on and sending back to the automated system. The fins will adjust during course to ensure that shell lands within 10m of the actual targeted distance ( an amazing feat for a shell thats flying thru the air for over 30-40 miles with no rocket turbine engine etc. non guided shells have a differntial in landing from targeting that can span like i said over 100m. So its extremely hard to repeatedly hit the same area or relative area within 30 feet 10m over and over with dumb shells.
And GPs guided shells are not even the best types of shells we can supply we have the excaliber shell (which we wont send in general its to new and sensitive to enemy hands type shell) that goes 178 miles within a 5 meter blast radius of the original targeting location. Talking shells you can shoot from one side of ukraine and hit the other with ARTILLERY not missiles that can be detected easier. If those werent so new and tech sensitive and expensive man would it be awesome to share them with ukraine

@@j.dragon651 Some of the shells can steer themselves to a GPS co-ordinate, the Canadians gave them loads. They are also using drones to spot in real time sometimes with lasers so they can see where they are landing. They are still excellent shots even with the tech, it takes skill and co-ordination.

Previously, you needed an airborne or ground based spotter on high ground calling fire correction, now they can do it with a $300 drone without putting a spotter aircraft or ground spotter at risk.

how are these guys so insaley accurate with these rounds? are they precision guided? is the drone guiding the fire somehow? to be able to hit something that accurate from that distance while its moving is an amazing feat. considering if they are miles away.
The aiming is definitely aided by the drone(s) -- the footage itself is the proof, yet most likely the ammo itself is not precision guided IMO.

Yes a spotter has always been crucial to good placement. In the world war era, this was most likely a small unit of one or two with optics and a radio who could confirm hits and direct fire.
this worked reasonably well, but it was limited by the accuracy of maps, and the point of view of the spotter which, often times could not actually see the precise position of the hits, but rather the splash from them and so the directions were approximations.
Like Ashot has commented, the use of drones as spotters is what has changed the whole game.
First off, it's the point of view... your spotter is in the damn air and is mobile, and nearly invisible, AND there's no lag in communication between spotter and artillery officers as I'm sure the view we see in these videos is In fact the same view the artillery officers see.
so drone technology has increased their ability to make hits and adjustments in real-time and also increased their POV so that traditional cover is no longer effective. that's how they hit them in between the houses like that. it's almost like a video game.... imagine directing troop movement utilizing drones as scouts!
