  • The background music to ''Big Blue'', a course in both F-Zero on the Super Nintendo and F-Zero X on the Nintendo 64, remade in FL Studio 10 with Sega Genesis instruments. Made with VOPM, The Ultimate Megadrive Soundfont and various game samples.
This remake is based off the N64-version. The song is called ''Decide in the Eyes'' on the official soundtrack of F-Zero X.
This is my first real attempt at making a Sega Genesis remake. I tried my best to make the remake sound as legit as possible by keeping the limitations of the YM2612 and SN76489 in mind. It's not perfectly legit, though, but with a few minor tweaks this remake could be produced by a real Sega Genesis.

I like this rendition very much, but I still can't get over Sony's sound card on SNES. I'm mainly pointing out games like EarthBound, Kirby Super Star, and Super Bomberman 2 as having demonstrated the possibilities of when the SNES' sound card is geared towards very unique styles

I wouldn't like to see the Snes attempting MD's best music and visa versa unless exceptionally well done. This is an ok job but it sounds quite harsh on the ears. I think the MD in the right hands could produce a more accurate version to honest

I don't like this sort of recreation because all it does is try and make a soundtrack sound like an average mega drive game (probably GEMS crap that hasn't been used very well like a lot of popular mega drive games) instead of actually making a soundtrack that runs on actual MD hardware and trying to make it sound as much like the original as possible. At least some people do this and produce actually impressive pieces like that recreation of sonic cd stardust speedway past on the SNES SMP that was near perfect (you can still tell the difference, but it is very small).
