Recorded from 1245 to 1945. Track 2 is out of service, so all eastbound trains are routed on track 1. Additionally, for the first half of the video, emergency track repairs had track 4 out of service as well, resulting in westbound trains low-leveling. Enjoy the action =) - Auta a dopravní prostředky
This is my home town. Lots of nostalgia from this station - went here a lot as a kid. Taking an Amtrak here later this week from MD, seeing footage of this station gets me excited!
The first time I ever went into NYC, I rode in from this station. I fell in love with broadway and theatre over the coming years, and anytime I went into the city, I departed from this station. I finally work in theatre professionally as of this year, and for some reason, CZcams recommended this video to me. Thanks for the hard hitter, heaven knows my feelings weren’t ready for it.
The first time I went to NYC, I rode the NJT NEC in from the Newark Penn station. I then moved to New Jersey and spent a year riding into NYC on the North Jersey Coast line from Aberdeen-Matawan. NJT stations in general evoke VERY strong memories of NYC and some formative times of my life. Walking up those steps from New York Penn onto the sidewalk on 7th Ave just blew my mind that first day. I know what you mean.
NJTRANSIT IS BY FAR THE ABSOLUTE WORST & MOST UNRELIABLE MASS TRANSIT SYSTEM IN THE ENTIRE U.S..ALWAYS HAVE BEEN ALWAYS WILL BE NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES THEY HIKE UP THE FARES
It's awesome to feel the "speed impact" of these trains flying through the station at such an accelerated pace. This looks like a good place to spot and film Acela services getting into higher speed mode. The ACS-64 Amtrak electric locomotives really look cool when paired with the Amfleet stainless steel coaches. Even though there are decades between their year of contruction, the visual match is harmonious.
Yeah you’re telling me it just hits you and Idek the vibration the wind the sound just everything it’s a whole other experience when you see it in person it’s like damn they going fast lmao but on this part of NEC they can go 125mph
2x speed
Hey commenters from europe/japan/etc: we know.
wow you guys have very slow trains!
China: cute
Stripe japan has the fastest train running at 602kmph name as the maglev
If you put x2 speed is lees painfull
America: You have lame trains 🤣😆. Australia in 2021. Not on my watch, Also i have better horns
Europe and Asia: “USA Trains are so slow”
USA: “Yeah, we know”
Australia, UK, and Canada: *slowly sneak out of the room*
haha true
Idk why speed is the main concern just enjoy the ride and stop bitching 😭 Acela can 150 like god damn what you do you wanna go 300 instead Jesus
@@mattk9644 lol you're preaching to the choir. It's just pointless bragging.
@@michlo3393 I don’t think you know what bragging means
China: well, japan’s trains are faster than USA
We need more high speed trains in West Coast. Good job East Coast.
That dude at 40:20 just chilling on the yellow line while a regional screams past...
rip lol. Some people just love to court death.
Lol
Finetales Dumb ass dude
LOL they love the breeze from the hurricane train
@@FanRailer Can't fix stupid..
We used to go down there in the 70's and 80's before they remodelled the station. I loved the fast trains rushing by on the near track. Shiny silver Amtraks...the smell of grease...the blue sparks on the catenary. I was always happy when a GG1 would come through or the Dinky would pull up behind the station.
Just went through Princeton junction on my way from Baltimore to NYC. Beautiful yet minimalistic station and scenery.
I used to take NJ Transit from Princeton Junction for almost two years. I then used to take 600 bus to plainsboro. Revisited all my memories watching this video.
I've spent a couple weekends at Jersey avenue and it is quite impressive. Very nice action.

music 1560 except for trash pacers
Great catches man! You can get a sense of how fast these trains are!
I’ve been to that station, nice horn show train catches, the rest were amazing, outstanding work buddy, fantastic video.
Nice one :) was it Hamilton a couple weeks ago when track 2 was closed, was a blast of a day especially seeing Amtrak trains fly right by me!
I live in hamilton so that is my go to station and i love it there
Nice !!.. It will be nice to add the radio chatter between all trains... I lived in New York 18 years.. I have been to that platform quite a few times to visit family... New Jersey Transit Princeton junction brings back memories
Amfleet's rugged design appeals to me.
From Japan
The 1980s Budd Car design back when the Budd Car Company was still in business they designed the cars specifically for Amtrak and they are still in pretty good condition VIA rail will probably buy them after Amtrak replaces them in a few years
28:00 Keystone with locomotives at both ends
You mean keystone?
Keystone has a locomotive at one end and a converted metroliner cab at the other.
Benjamin Brown it’s a keystone though, you could tell because the locomotive at the front was connected to the cab
I guess something went wrong with the cab car, so they had to use a locomotive instead.
But i think the cab car broke down so they had to use an additional locomotive
Awesome to see low level boarding on the NEC. Great video!
blast from the past
For all the noise the engineer was making at 17:07, you’d think he was hitting 150. Still a great horn show
Nice video . As an ex NEC engineer , we went to Trenton 5 days a week !
Big Smoke: CJ!!!
CJ: Yea?
Big Smoke: *points to Train* 9:20
CJ: Ah shit, here we go again....
Big smoke: watch your language CJ
CJ: oops sorry
All we had to do was follow the damn train Cj
Mr.ShogunGamez which country this is ?
KL 35 oO7 its a state.. its New Jersey. Not a country 😐
i dont think cj will get that
Wow. It’s kind of impressive how you stayed and filmed long. I’m not really used to staying in a station for too long. I usually stay for an hour or less whenever I fan the (N) train. The rest is just a few minutes. But yeah, keep up with the good work there!
Same, the longest railfanning video i have is 10 mins long.
@@Vxllain he said test my patience
Love these NEC videos!
Me and another friend were fanning at hamilton recently and watched an NJT local overshoot the platform and have to come back
34:56 the cab car is sleeping lol
Seeing one of those trains behind me at night as i got of the nj transit was the single scariest thing in existence
This is very cool, good job!
Beautiful coverage ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
You took this on my 11th B-Day 09/07/19 TY :D
Excellent Video.
Very good video!!!
enjoyed very much
Albert Einstein is waiting for an NJT on the Left side 40:25
Funny because he actually visited the station regularly to watch the high speed trains pass through on his off days.
Lol
I always go from Princeton junction. The scary thing is the Amtracks. They are going a little under 100 but it feels like 500. You don't see the light in the distance and suddenly, with little or no honk, you hear the motors. And before you know it, the floor is shaking like crazy, the loudest sound you have listened to is crazy and the wind is so strong you almost fall down. it's crazy. Imagine japan.
kls like well done thank you for the video
Man I love electrics! I hope I get to film on the northeast corridor some day
Looks like the power lines and stanchions have been renovated.
14:01 and 31:15 are my favorite parts because of the ALP-46 departure sound
You should look up some of the Vienna trains, they set off with the sound going up the scales. It’s because it’s the city of music... pretty sure it was the CAT train but, I could be wrong.
@@a20axf From this?

Fantastic ❤️
VIDEO BELLISSIMO!!
18:51 minecraft creeper explosion
Lmao sounded just like it
David sims 200 trains, transport, and more so so true
At speed 0.5, it sounds exactly like the creeper explosion
Lol it literary sounds just like that.
lol
Love the trains from USA 🇺🇸❣️ These trains are very fine and beautiful.
Very nice capture friend
9:50 - I wonder why they stopped so quickly. It almost looked like an emergency stop.
Stopping at the station.
It’s crazy how today Amtrak has sped their trains up by at least 50% of what it was at this time. The amtraks make some serious wind when they pass these days.
52:55
Double high speed
Also it's a hurricane train
It is a Amtrak train most Amtrak go SUPER FAST

At 53 when you get the Acela from the opposite side and the Amtrak right on top of you was the best
Ding ding! I'm a tram and I approve this video :)
That video was great. What camera did you shot? I love trains like Amtrak and New Jersey Transit’s Northeast Corridor.

Great footage, you have a really nice view along the tracks there. The lighting toward the end was stunning - Sunset is a beautiful time to film on the railways.
I notice the catenary looks very new shiny here, but he old 138kv pylons and sub station are still standing too. I'm guessing they will come down at some point? They must be 80+ years old now? Pretty impressive.
Just only a couple of years ago they had to replace the tracks with concrete ties and all and then the catenary
All of this is from 1909 pretty crazy to think and look it now only has gotten longer lmao
Oh no the Catenary towers will probably stand for decades they already replaced most of it they likely won't ever remove it heck the Electric system itself is still 12kV 25Hz AC here (the Arrows can't switch power systems on the fly)
私は日本人です。海外の電車も魅力がありますね。いつか乗ってみたいです。最後に一言。

American trains are not sleek and pretty but they have a special charm. Especially the old AEM-7s. czcams.com/video/tJQRB7ORqIc/video.html
I love the northeast corridor!
Nice video
7:00 letting people off, straight on tracks instead of platform? Wtf? Platform doesn't seem to be out of service??
I thought the middle lines were for express trains only...
The track next to the platform was out of service
Could be any number of reasons why they stopped on those tracks, do you work for them?
Noah Shively-Blinn lol no
There's no 3rd rail on these tracks, ppl can walk safely across track if there are no trains nearby.
Congratulations.
29:50 I spotted the 7 car Acela!
You didnt lol
The youtuber did
I think 796K people saw that first
1:44 I think I was on that one
Awesome!
17:15 put that on 0.5x it sounds weirder

My guy caught 3 Amfleet II cars on a regional oml
I ❤ Amtrak & NJ Transit

i like dis video!
Its a strange concept that your center tracks also stop using those boards at the end. Never seen it before.
Well that’s only because work was being done on one of the tracks it wasn’t a normal day
16:09 that's strange. NJT train stands on the mainline but Amtrak train is passing by on the track adjacent to platform.
Well idk if you noticed but work was being done of the fourth track and no one was using it it’s only until later in the video all the tracks get used
1:40 Yo that’s so fast!!!!!!
SAVAGE Eb lmaooo
Omg ikr!! ✨🧚♀️
IKR ITS SOOO FAST
6:20 is the fastest
Nothing can beat 19:31
Does anyone have info about the car at 39:42? Whats the clear end for? I assume its a non powered control unit but I dont see why the window would need to be so large.
Max Porter I think it’s a tv for Amtrak ads
Conference car for Amtrak's top brass .
@@uncledanny636 how would they be able to do that? And if it is a TV why is it transparent?
Those are viewing cars, they let passengers view the scenery from the back
31:15 is amazing sounds
Nolan The dab king i love the part when it goes REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
What's with the inconsistency in the use of ditch lights, bell, and horn? Even among the same locomotives owned by NJT or Amtrak, some trains will have the ditch lights on, some won't; some trains will blow their horn when passing on the inner track, then the next will blow past the outer track platform without sounding the horn.
Bruh your profile pic is me when i see 2 ns D-9s , and ac44c6m and an sd70acu doing yard work.
so sad that i couldnt be able to see that mow caternary train pass on the station :(
oh nevermind
How often is 665 used on keystone trains? I was there a few weeks after you filmed this video, and I saw the same engine heading to New York City with one of the trains from Harrisburg.
They use all of them everyday on that line like idk maybe 40 Keystone Service’s a day could be more
Awesome! I’d love to go there!
I love trains too
What camera are you using now? Looks like it could be a newer model dual camera phone but I love the color science.
iPhone 7+ and the panasonic
The panasonic what?
HC-V770
At 12:37 wow what a sound love the sound of that train as it thunders through the station I think that was doing 90 miles an hour
110
Fan Railer I knew it was doing 110 mph it looked like it was doing 90 but it's 110
It looks slower on camera
I miss AEM 7s
Everyone does.
@@closedpermanently9723 it will be Amtrak's most memorable locomotive in Amtrak history, ran for nearly 40 years.
just like the F40PH
I heard 2 of them will be on service on Caltrain once the electrification is over
I'd like one on the Metra Electric district hauling some old Highliner 1s.
Is there no rule about slowing down when your on the track closest to the passenger platform?
no
Those inbound Amtrak cab cars are Amtrak Keystones
My favorite is the double deckers
Like from netherlands nj transit and other double decker
I came for the Silverliner III's, nothing more
Does Amtrak use the cab cars in the keystone route?
Huh, even the regionals end up going pretty fast.
What are the high speed trains that NJ Transit uses?
Xinless Vice NJT uses the same rolling stock for all their trains, it’s either comet series or bombardier bi level coaches, and their locomotives are:
GP40-2
F40PH-2CAT
ALP45DP
ALP46
Xinless Vice they also use EMU’s but I’m not sure what they are
@@jonathanmchugh1391, GE Arrow III (MA-1J)
Yeah they go a good 125mph or they might say fuck the speed limit and go 135 mph that the ACS-64 can achieve hell they might even go 150 if I remember correctly but still you’re moving but sometimes on this dudes camera it just looks a lot slower then if you were actually there in person
JESUS. Those trains are fast!
It is called Americans fast rail
Do the Northeast Regional and Acela trains run through this station at 125mph? I love those 5 car Amtrak trains with the Black/Yellow markings at the last car. What are those trains?
On the 2 middle tracks, Regionals and Keystones (the bumblebee cab car trains) run at 125. The Acela is cleared for 135, soon to be 160. Long Distance trains (ones that have viewliner cars) are still only good for 110. The 2 outside tracks are only good for 110.
@@FanRailer Thank you for that info. I was born in Connecticut so kinda fell in love with seeing all these trains whenever we'd head up to the Northeast/New England.
Texas80 the 5 cars are the Keystone Service
Nice trains, especially the twin decks, but there seems to be an issue with your zoom lens.
Hi I’m a big fan

SO SLOW!!!

David Camacho is stopping at a station 🚉
@@camachda isn’t even the speed line it’s the slow line 💀 obviously it’s gonna be slow and it’s stopped at the station fym
Are the Comet cars for locals and limited stop only while the multilevels handle the express train.?
no
Late comment, but since they were emergency repairs is that the reason why they didn't use the bridge plates?
yes
Nice video!
Cool regionals going at 180 kmh or more
Our Italian e464 max speed is 160 kmh so it's not that impressive to see one at Max speed
Anyways we have the Frecciarossa so we can't complain hehe
Well they go 125 and Acela goes 135 or more maybe 150 but they are making a new one that can go 220 mph kinda crazy when you think about it
I was watching AmtrakGuy365 and he said that The Metroliners once ripped out windows from a whole set of trains in Pennsylvania do to the Pressurization drop
I'm a fan of trains
At 1:50 isn't the locomotive hauling the New Jersey Transit commuter train an ALP-46 or an ALP-46A?
ALP-46
What did you use to film?
17:15 nice horn show!!
wow, the mutilevel car door is open when its on the express track
52:53 gonna miss that horn.. one of my favorites honestly
