To Celebrate 1 MILLION VIEWS on Trains at Speed 2021 - Here is DIESEL Trains at Speed 2024!
With over 40 stations and 90 trains, I've put a lot of hard work making sure it covers a wide spectrum of trains and routes filmed between 2021 and 2024.
Thanks for Watching and Supporting, You guys rock! 😃
If you don't mind can I have a shout out cause I hit 250 subs the other day
We're still supporting your channel as we all love your videos
Congratulations
Where is the normal trains at speed?
Congrats btw
The usual trains at speed should be released around September this year.
There's only one thing better than seeing these diesels at speed...and that's driving them! I had the huge good fortune to drive HST's prior to my retirement and I never tired of the sound of a whistling Valenta engine under hard acceleration through the cutting north of St. Pancras and into Belsize tunnel.....
Very few things are better than seeing a HST with Valentas at full flight. The scream as they fly by is amazing! I only wish I could have seen it in person (I'm in Australia). Gives me tingles watching the videos though.
@@andrewduffin9216 the XPT used to be powered by the same Valenta engines, and today are powered by the successor powerplant, the VP185, which was also used on EMT / EMR's HSTs instead of replacing them with the more standard MTU powerplants other operators opted for.
3:21 My favourite moment of the VP185
There's no Shinkansen in the UK, but the fact is that ordinary railways can speed up to 125mph in UK.
In Japan, Shinkansen is 200mph, but ordinary railways are only 70mph due to the narrow gauge.
in Indonesia the new fast train can reach 230-240mph and it is made in China, I think the fastest train at the moment is in China and second in Indonesia. We also have ordinary trains on narrow tracks with a speed of 70 kilometers per hour and a maximum speed of 120-130 kilometers per hour on a straight line
10:18 is actually very close to my primary school! I have so many memories from there
Can't say this is the video I expected but a great compilation! I miss taking HSTs on the ecml - those and the 91s were honestly a perfect combo
I’ve had this one in the works for a while! Thanks for your kind comments, I struggled to find any diesel trains on the east coast 😃👍🏻
Wow, these UK diesel trains are flying! The speed and power are absolutely incredible. It's like watching a symphony of motion. Thanks for sharing these adrenaline-pumping moments!
I enjoyed trains at speed 2024 it was fun to watch the trains pass by.🙂👍
2:50 I like the fact the horn is so loud it makes the camera operator jump!
I cant help it! I'm handheld on the camera so not much is needed to make me flinch! 🙂
so good to see diesels going hard these days 🔥🔥🔥 hope we will get to see them with combustion power in future also..
@StarlifeStudios love the network rail hdt and the 37s on rhtt. Amazing video to watch, thank you!
22:29 mins of complete diesel’s at speeds! Marvellous, complete triumph 💯💯💯
Many of your favourites in there Duaine, thanks for being supportive as you always are. 😃
@@StarlifeStudios It’s been an amazing Journey from the very beginning, right to this point.. Your video’s in my opinion are the best on CZcams hands down! And I’ll continue to support your channel and share your videos. Always Great work Ross 💯💯💯😃
Love your videos dude. But i think they can become even better if you can have them in 4k60. That would be lovely!
I agree! I wish I could record 4K60 and I am looking into this long term especially since the standard on CZcams is changing. 4K became the standard about 2 years ago and I believe a similar thing will happen soon for 60fps. Thank you for your criticism, I am always happy to hear it. 😃
@@StarlifeStudios Ive seen alot of spotting videos on youtube with 4k60. If you got that in your videos aswell they would be fantastic :)
@@ie6338 I agree! The problem is most videos now use mobile phones or gimble devices both of which have bad zoom capabilities (4x if your lucky, I use 32x!) . I will likely have to get a DSLR or a Mirrorless Camera to overcome this but I may loose out on other features such as the sensor size. Basically, I am really keen to improve on everything but I wont upgrade to 4K 60fps if I'm not able to film in low light (as an example). Thank you.
@@StarlifeStudios Your device camera settings may allow you to up the fps to 60, however this may affect some features, for example on my phone it disables the autofocus feature (a pretty dumb limitation imo, given that I cannot hazard any technical reason as to why this is done)

Nice vid
Oooo, I see what you have done here, very clever. Fully enjoyable collab to watch of the Diesel trains at speed in action. Congratulations on hitting a million views on Trains at Speed 2021 :-)
Thank you very much Ricky! I had a lot of clips that were all slightly slower than a traditional trains at speed requires, so, I thought why not make a Diesel special! 😃 I see you've been to Doncaster recently too.. a day after me perhaps 😉
Great video.
Thank you!
We don't rock you rock with your amazing videos
Great Catches
Much appreciated! 😃
Great compilation Starlife!
Thanks Owen 😉
Lovely video mate. Thanks.
Thank you 😃😃
Nice video. didn’t know that you guys had that many diesel trains over there😊
Nice compilation, mate👍
Thanks Ben! Have a great Sunday! 🙂
Wow stunning!
Thank you! 😊
Ah right that’s fantastic
Congratulations 🎉
Amazing video
I absolutely love this channel, high quality videos, tons of great shots of some of my favourite trains in the world! Great video!
Thank you very much Shadow! 😃😃
Great video! Theres alot of stuff that you haven't uploaded that im excited about
Thanks Jake, all will be released in time 👍🏻
Amazing videos, btw which device did you use to capture these marvelous videos ?
2:09 look the W sign is now gone completely
This is insane , great video 🔥🔥
Thanks so much!! 😃👍🏻
This is a diesel train paradise! Love it
Thank you very much! 😃
Nice Video!
Love the 171!
Request are you able to do Chard Junction? There’s this box for trainspotters.
Does it now.. interesting, I might have to go if I’m nearby. 👍🏻
@@StarlifeStudios It's on the WEML just north of Axminster, so all you'll get will be SWR 159s plus a looping departmental train at 8:45 and 10am and a looping empty GWR service at 7 and 9pm on most weekends according to RTT.
Amazing video Starlife!! Great variety of passers there! Its a shame the HSTs arent around anymore as they always made for a great pass!! Also, how do you make your thumbnails?
Amazing video I enjoyed it
Glad you enjoyed it Jaid455 👍🏻
@@StarlifeStudios No problem
I mentioned last video how it was the first time in a while you covered Chiltern and I was happy about that! Well, you've smashed it out the park with a 2 in 2! Haha! Great shots as always
Thanks Vanmanyo! Next one 100% has no Chiltern I’m afraid! I have another Chiltern video already recorded so you won’t have to wait too long. As the Mk3s bow out of Chiltern, I’ll definitely be spending more time on this line.
Awesome Video
Glad you enjoyed it 😃
Great job videoing all of these trains! Lucky you. Especially the editing and the intro music as it is really cool music. I wonder how long it took you to make these videos and can you possibly put some more class 43s in and 390s? Have a wonderfull day StarLife and keep up the work with the train spotting. P.s What is your favourite train?
Thank you StarGazer! I put a lot of hard work into making sure all the videos on this channel are absolutely perfect. I'm glad you find it worthwhile. Sadly, the Class 43s are on the way out of the UK but I always try and put one into my videos (and you will see plenty of them in upcoming normal videos too). To answer your question, my favourite train is the Class 68 Loco - What an amazing sound!!
2:47 loved watching you get jumpscared by the honk and shake the camera 😂
I cant help it! I'm hand held on the camera! 😂
Get a tripod / gimbal and stabilize the footages next time.
Tripods are old technology. Camera O.I.S is so good now that tripods aren’t needed. Gimbals are good but they do not allow you to hardware zoom, something which I make use of a lot as you can see.
@@StarlifeStudios what camera do you shoot on ?
I use a Panasonic HC VX1
I do love how fast and smooth they travel especially the Freightliner Trains
The trains at speed videos are by far my favorite! How about a electric version one next?
Good idea 😉
I have been watching you since your first ever video
Thanks for your long standing support Louie! I can't thank you enough for it 😃
Look at that camera control!!!
I have that RHTT at Basildon, Southend Central, Southend Victoria and Wickford. Nice selection of diesel and Bi-mode trains and diesel locomotives.
By "have", you mean you've seen it at the locations described or you've driven it or you actually own it?
No. I have seen it at Southend Victoria and quickly went inside the cab.
@@AndrewG1989 Cool.
On another note, why don't you have the train info splashers you have for all your other vids?
0:55 Nice 158 shot. BTW are the TfW 158s and 170s still in service, and how good are they compared to the 197s? IK the 175s are retired.
The 170s have been withdrawn from TfW but the 158s are still running. When TfW replace the 158s, I'd like them to go to GWR because the 166s on Cardiff to Portsmouth aren't the best
@@grassytramtracks Where do the ex-TfW 170s run atm?
East Midlands Railway’s Regional Network (Nottingham/Derby/Skegness)
Loved the video, I gotta find a HST down south (Hampshire) which is a pain, hope to find one soon though 😄
Do HSTs ever have a reason to go through Hampshire? I think the only unnelectrified lines in the county are the Heart of Wessex, Reading-Basingstoke, and North Downs, so your options would be... something like freight work or running as a replacement for a Voyager on a Cross-country service through Basingstoke, right?
@@randomguy-tg7okpretty sure cross country retired all their hsts
@@AhtNFG CrossCountry have already retired the InterCity125 sets
@@randomguy-tg7ok The only HSTs through Hampshire was XC ( occasionally ) and the old Virgin Trains one. And areas like Salisbury - Basingstoke were unelectrified
@@purplesTrainsUK "Were"... yeah, if only.
me when see a Scotland train *SCOTLAND FOREVER*
Best train engine diesel so speed. 😮
it feels criminal @ 9:53 to have east midlands parkway but not include even a tiny bit of footage of the massive powerplant next to it!
You can watch the full video here: czcams.com/video/qDNTWaZLenY/video.htmlsi=B15JmpXFQWaj_zKL 😃👍🏻

Remember me asking what do u use to film? You said a Panasonic HC-VX1. Well now I have one too as I’ve got one for my bday!!!

When Are You Gonna Do Trains At Speed September 2022 - August 2024?
This is still the plan yes. Thanks Mia
Thanks Very Much Starlife
@@StarlifeStudiosso is this just a teaser before we get the full thing? Just so like we don't get upset for having to wait so long
@@deividasverbickas6233 you could say that! 🤣
There are quite a few instances of 80xs running through electrified lines on diesel mode. What's up with that?
For Great Western and East Coast 800s, drivers have the ability to switch should there be an issue with the wires or train pantograph. In most of the cases, this is an issue with the train rather than the wires but the option is there to use either. For Prestonpans, all TPE 802 drivers are instructed to run using diesel due to the Power Supplies in this area not being stable enough to support any more electric trains.
Couldn't afford to pay the electricity bill
They should be brave enough to pay for their electricity bills man. If they cant replace the transformer with one having higher Mega Volt Ampere figures and also not invest in proper traction substations then the overhead equipment alone cannot help trains ditch the oily habit.
how do you know the speeds and speed limit
If Chiltern Railways are still using class 68s why has Transpennine Express stopped using there’s? Makes absolutely no sense!
What camera do you use for filming at such high quality
I use a Panasonic HC VX1. Thanks for watching! 😃
Fantastic! how did you get permission to stand on the fast platforms at maidenhead?
I didnt! The staff told me it wasn't a problem. I have a full video from this station coming in the near future.
The train at platform 1 is 12:5 will be a virgin class 220
Kereta - kereta yang sangat baik, seperti di negara saya kereta api jarak jauh masih menggunakan mesin diesel
Terima kasih kerana menonton! 😃
Prestonpans ❤
You can watch the full video here: czcams.com/video/0XW2-EAR8p8/video.html 😃👍🏻
How come you didn't do a trains at speed video in 2023?
I have made one every year since 2020 and my CZcams statistics show that all three videos actually compete with each other more than anything else. I will be making one for 2024. Thanks for your understanding.
This was a great video. Just a curious question if you don’t mind that I wanted to know how you approximated the speed of some of the trains coming past.
Good question! Let me explain that: So because speed is a formula of distance divided by time - you can use the length of the train which is available online and the time in seconds which it took to pass to estimate the speed, the rest is just visuals. Thanks for asking and I’m glad you took interest in this 😃👍🏻
Awesome FAST DIESEL TRAIN video!!
Request: Please May you do Crewkerne Level Crossing & Hewish (Crewkerne)? Not forcing you to
Thanks, I don’t usually do Level Crossing videos but I will look into Hewish though 👍🏻
Never thought I'd see a 60 on a diesels at speed video 😂
A 60 in a 60 doing 60MPH. It makes the cut because I can’t just have Voyagers and Meridians! - it would be too boring 🤣
You may also notice.. there’s something special about one of the speeds of those 60s 😉
@@StarlifeStudios yes I noticed a 60 doing 65. Fault with the speedo? 😉🤣
I knew your keen eyes would spot it! I’m not sure what’s going on there, I checked my calculations a few times and well.. it was about 63/64 so I rounded it up. This one must have the nitrous extra 🤣🤣
@@StarlifeStudios naughty DCR 🤫 haha I'm sure it's downhil trajectory 🤣
Day 2 of Requesting to do trains at Manors ECML
As I mentioned before PacerProductions, I have a trip to Newcastle planned and I will attempt to go to Manors on that date. Thanks for your continued interest in supporting the channel 👍🏻
have you heard the 323s are being withdrawn from the west midlanda?
Yes! Got to be fast to get them now! 😉
bro that camra is boss what one is it?
Wee need this type of t train india
Why the don't use the pentograph?
I know a lot about trains and how they work but I do not get what that alarm sound is when a train passes at speed 7:40
It's the train in the next platform (class 350) pulling away, I may be wrong but I believe it is something to do with variable modulation drives using pulse width modulation
Good video, in my country, most passenger trains travel slower, as the quality of the rails and infrastructure does not allow trains to go faster.
The tpe is electric and diesel and it’s using electric (aka nova)
Voyagers passing tring💀🙏

Uk trains?
Why the question
No 2023 one?
Why tf does British trains has that many colours, aesthetics , types, diesel, electric, 3rd rail , single car , double car, diesel high speed, electric low speed, ..,....why these many?
You pretty good at filming trains can't wait to see more videos please like and subscribe for more videos 😎😎
Thank you so much for your kind comments. I have improved a lot recently by putting a lot less reliance on the camera zoom. New videos every Sunday! 😃👍🏻
England has such a great, well-running railway network, so we can just shoot ourselves in Germany with our German railway. This is just plain disgusting. Replacement rail services everywhere, trains are constantly unpunctual, then there are not such beautiful trains as in England, such a great variety... everything used to be different here, similar to England, but everything is dilapidated.😢😂
Surprisingly, a lot of British still see the German railways as the standard we should be achieving (Rail fares and train performance)
As cool as it may be, it's sad that a country like the UK has so many non-electrified parts in its network.
Lol even Indian metro trains have more coaches than these trains
India and the United Kingdom are completely different situations - The City of Delhi has almost half the population of the entirety of the UK so of course the trains will be larger. Metro trains always have more coaches than InterCity and Regional trains because they are built to match service demand, almost all of the trains in this video are InterCity or Regional services.
12:10 your welcome and 15:08, 18:14, 19:15
100MPH isnt fast at all, even US has much faster trains. UK is so far behind the rest of the world in rail
Amazing video Starlife!! Great variety of passers there! Its a shame the HSTs arent around as much as they were anymore as they always made for a great pass!! Also, how do you make your thumbnails?
I miss the HSTs more every day! I also partly regret not filming them more especially on the East Coast in 2019. I use Adobe Photoshop for my thumbnails, its got a steep learning curve but its worth it. Thanks Jacob and apologies for not replying on Sunday.
@@StarlifeStudios Ah ok thanks! I did look at that but it said 20 quid a month and thought was a bit pricey!! No worries on the reply
