    It's good tips, not that I ever think I'll build this kit, but I can use it for my FAV build if I ever manage to buy the chassis parts, they're kind of had to find... Definitely I'll be having the battery cable internally, ha ha!

    😁👌It's a beauty!! I don't know why they did that with the shocks but other than that it's all good. I also painted my driver over to get the boxing gloves smaller! On the drive boots I always tie a loop of fishing line around them it works great also. Mark I kind of like it with only the two Chrome lights on it. I was looking at the extra parts you can put some of those lights or the chrome ones and even the chrome roof top on your FAV or wild one if you wanted to. Fishing line works great for the netting also. 😁👍Nice job go and run it!

We need to start getting pre-release kits direct from Tamiya and and do some testing and R&D for them in exchange, seems like a great idea to me!!! I really think I could have come up with a much better design of those rear number plate that would have mounted batter and protected the sticker when you flip it over. I guess they will reach out and make an offer when they are ready!!!

    Hey Mark, good god mate, what an absolute work of art this buggy is with all those chrome finished areas. Totally love it. Probably not worth the extra you pay over the standard kit, but still, if you like bling then this kit is top of the class for looks no matter what the price. What a strange design fault on the front shocks with the distorting spring issue, but once again you provided a cheap and workable solution - who would have though O-rings would be so useful ? Also I loved your driver which was extremely neat and tidy, and I especially loved the little tip involving the boxing glove reduction. Top stuff and a huge improvement...👍🏻. Excellent video mate, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Hope your recovery is progressing well and all is good at your end...👍🏻🙂.

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi there, mate! You said it in one (as usual you have a great way of phrasing things!) Yeah, "work of art" sums this (wild) one up perfectly! Shame to run it now it's done, but then again, a travesty not too! Definitely not worth the extra money (on paper) but for any real Tamiya fan... well that's a different story altogether. Thanks for the compliment on the driver, I'll take that kindly, especially from a man of your skills! I'm so happy that you enjoyed the video. Yes, I'm feeling a little better day by day, thanks very much. Take it easy my friend! :O)

  • @bamabiker750
    @bamabiker750 Před 2 lety +1

    Well that came out great. Nice work Mark. I've just finished mine and I found all the same issues. I couldn't accept the extremely stiff suspension however so up front, I've omitted the G2 spacer and made a spring cup that drops the spring another 5mm. In the rear, I've replaced the kit springs with ones that have a much lower rate. All together, the car now has about 4mm droop with a nimh battery pack. I haven't ran my car yet but I think I will be much happier with the softer suspension.
    Anyway, I think it's a great looking car and the changes you've made makes it look even better. I think I prefer the chrome light buckets to the kit's yellow ones. Cheers! 👍😊

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  Před 2 lety

      Thanks, bud! I think you are spot-on about the softer springs for normal off-road running. I did contemplate doing the same up-front, but with no softer rear springs, the car sat at a funny (nose diving) angle! However, if you send the car over any kind of jump, it does better with the harder setup. Best not to jump this beauty, though! 4mm droop sounds just right. All the best to you, take care - cheers! :O)

    Despite the simple suspension and tub chassis, the Wild One handles surprisingly well. It's such a fun buggy to drive!
    Great job an this Blockhead Motors Edition my friend, it looks stunning!!
    I'm surprised Tamiya didn't fix the shock spring problem. It sort of confused me at the time when i got the re-released buggy as i thought i forgot to add spacers that weren't there, so i made some collars from alluminium for the top and spring seat.
    Love the chromed bearbox, very tempting to order those parts for my Wild One :)

      Hello Hubertus! You are totally correct, the simplicity of the design is actually part of the charm of this model and works surprisingly well. Copied from the VW Beetle real-life car, I think. Yes, the shocks are annoying because they were the same on the last re-release, you would think Tamiya would correct their old mistakes! But I'm afraid I don't have your awesome skills with machining aluminium! Thanks for the kind message, take care my friend! :O)

      @@MarkBryanRC It is indeed similar to a Beetle!
      I don't have any machining skills too, i just cut a small strip out of aluminium sheet and wrapped it around the shock body and spring seat. Wish i thought of the O-ring method though, that way the spring seat can't pop out during a hard landing!

    Awesome tips Mark!!!! Such a great looking buggy too. I used some of your tips from your Wild One build when I built my Blockhead. For the rear body "clips" the netting catches on the screws, but the netting is long enough inside the body, so I cut a small piece of the netting on each side where the screws are for the body "clips" and now the screws don't catch on the netting and you cant see where it was cut. I did something different on the front shocks as well as for all the shock builds. Hope your feeling better my friend & the Family too!!!!

    This handsome buggy looks even better, in my view, with the chrome headlights.
    I liked Adam's tip for the bottom of the shocks, as well as your tape technique to eliminate play at the top.
    Just as with the flimsy number plates, one would really have thought that Tamiya shouldn't be leaving it to us to sort these things out for ourselves, but they seem to keep getting away with it!

      I do love this buggy but if I had the choice and money was no issue, I'd go for the BBX!
