@@thomasreddick5908 depends on many things like the size, type of wrap & color. Usually around 6-800 for the wrap & just do it yourself. Shops in my area charge 3k now bc price of material has gone up

I just wrapped my 09 altima hood in vvivid carbon fiber and I’ve pretty much watched all your videos and even doing so it still took me 2 hrs and with a couple bubbles but it’s my first wrap so I just wanted to say thank you and you’re a beast bruh.

A little tip if you get any dirt or debris on the on the vinyl, use tape rather than a razor blade. The dirt or debris will stick to the tape and won't damage the vinyl.
That is one of the cleanest wrap installs I've seen.

Attempted my first wrap on the hood of my car the other day, first attempt was a fail, wrap stuck to itself and when i tried to separate it split so had to remove it, second attempt went better but not 100% perfect and was using carbon fibre 3m wrap, over stretched in a couple of places and pattern got a little distorted, hopefully my attempt at doing the roof goes better. This is a VERY WELL done wrap of a hood in 30 minutes SOLO! Excellent and on point advices...! I happen to know this hood very well (Type-R with scoop) and from Greg Fernandez tutelage. Kudos!!
First attempt on my hood wasn't good. I watched this guy a few times and it was rough. This takes some skill.

I've tried wrapping stuff 3 times now. I watch your videos, and then I'm sure I can go and do it. You make it look easy. My work always ends up looking bad, especially around corners and curves/bends. I couldn't imagine trying to do something as large as a hood.
right? right ? yesterday I wrap my cars front bumpers bottem lip. It was just a straight line but it looked awful. All material has gone to trash.

Totally agree with you on the hood support. My Renault duster, such a simple car has gas pistons to open the hood. And costs half the Honda civic

Nice thing about the manual hood prop is that you never have to replace the gas springs that inevitably wear out. I prefer having the OEM prop. Worked better than my ski pole I used in the Jeep Grand.
Exactly...if we wanted a hydraulic prop that will wear out before the engine we would buy an acura lol..or we could waste money on manufacturers that don't prioritize safety and reliability..I know someone who lost a thumb because his clients 2016 beamers hood bit him..he ended up replacing the hydraulic prop lol

I'm about to wrap my hood with carbon fibre. First wrap I have ever done so should be fun.... I hope. I watched the videos from fespa before watching yours so will try their method first. Less heat used and less repulling of the wrap. Look at me thinking I know everything. Will soon find out.
I'm always learning something new from your videos. I do agree with some of the commenters here about real vs vinyl but I just want to say something about that. My son bought an FRS with a real carbon fiber hood and, like all other real cf hoods, it was already getting cloudy and it cracked around the stress points so now he is going to replace that one with a steel one. Real cf is expensive and doesn't last. If you're silly enough to spend all that money on a street car vs race car, that's your business but you still look silly if it's your daily driver and not your track car. At least with the wrap, you can replace it for a lot less when it fails than the real thing. So don't be a hater, it's about personal taste. Great job Chris! Happy belated birthday to your wife.

Also alot of cars use aluminium instead of steel for the hood now. CF weighs maybe only a few lbs less and cost a crap load more.
Real CF hood last for ever lol
They are expensive though, they start at $1000+ for a CF top hood with alu bottom
