  • This video on carbon fiber vinyl wrap will show you some of the most common mistakes that are made. Watch to the end to see the special surprise at Mistake #4. Carbon fiber is the most sold type of vinyl wrap around the world. When it comes to installing it, it can be extremely difficult .I've seen many people make these very same mistakes often since this is what I teach in my workshops. Material handling is critical but along with that we need to know the correct direction in order to pull the film. The direction isn't always what it seems to be. Understanding these mistakes will help you learn and become a better wrapper.

Thank you! The concept of using the mirror image from one side to the other is so obvious, AFTER you show & explain it.
I’m only doing my mirror caps, but this will save a ton of wasted material and time. I would have wondered why on earth it just doesn’t look right from one side to the other. And why does it look deformed? I did it just how they show it on CZcams!?
    THANKS!!!!
PS - Of course had I already ordered the CF you said not to. I just ordered the gloss you have in your description. I’ll try them both out on my 2005 XKR and see which looks best on the almost vintage Jag.

Carbon fiber is laid a particular way to exploit the strengths in the direction the force will likely be applied to the carbon fiber because carbon fiber is very week if ran in the wrong direction.you want the pattern lines to run towards the likely direction of force from impact so it can flex when impacted what it can instead of instantly cracking.but usually its ran in a diagonally direction to make it strong more equally in most directions.iv researched this extensivley since i was beginning to use real carbon fiber to make some parts for my racing quad

The starting finish needs to be mirror quality for definition and suspension of image details there needs to be something like 2 mm Clear coating or vinyl top it with a two way window fim laid reflection facing the bottom coat it reflected outcome will be amazing.

if you want to do everything streamlined you have to turn the vinyl for one side around 90°, so this only works with pieces that aren't longer than 152cm. And the light reflection might be different as well. streamlined is not the perfect solution. The perfect solution would be to have 2 different carbon vinyls by the manufacturers. 1 running left and 1 right.
