What is the exact name of this Vinyl? Has VVivid updated this product as the video was shot 2 years ago? In any case, I question what is the value of installing the wrap then PPFing it vs installing a high quality Carbon Fiber PPF instead? I am sure VVivid carry a good CF PPF at the same graphic resolution as this wrap. Cost wise it may actually work out cheaper/faster installing the PPF instead

Really appreciate the detailed explanation! Just curious though, a common complaint that I've heard with the Vvivid light shade vinyl is when installed on the front lights, the lights look hazy at night time. Many also mentioned seeing streaks in the vinyl (even when professionally installed) and a purple tint to them. Have you experienced these issues?

The matte looks great without being stretched, is it required to stretch or can you wrap a car not stretched? What happens if you avoid stretching the film?

Thinking I might go demon black for something kind of unique and since it's ppf I can always just wrap over it at a later time. This is going on a black model y. Thoughts?

No offense but i really doubt you can pick up your jeep hood with 2 fingers or saying it weighs 6lbs. I know for a fact it does not weigh 6lbs for any car hood period. Please upload a video posting how much the hood weighs and you picking it up with 2 fingers bc i doubt you can. So either back up what you said or you’re a liar. Im only calling you out on your bs bc my real carbon fiber hood which is 100% carbon fiber meaning the top of the hood is carbon fiber and under my hood is carbon fiber which ive never seen that on any carbon fiber hood ever nor i dont think anyone even sells one like mine. Nornally cf hoods under is fiberglass painted black. I paid $2,000 for my hood which is about 2-4x more expensive if you look up carbon fiber hood. Anyways point is you wont find a hood like mine. It was made by Mario from tsr fabrication. The first model was a little thin but weighed about 12lbs but if you pushed on the hood in the middle it would flex a lil bit so he reinforced the second model which is stronger and doesnt flex but weighs 15lbs which is the one i bought. And people get carbon fiber bc its lighter and stronger bc of the cross weave twill. And you saying you dont buy carbon fiber for the weight reduction is complete bs and thst is exactly why people buy carbon fiber. So i lost abouy 15lbs off my hood which i weighed the stock hood and my cf hood and mario at tsr did the same as well. And my cf trunk which i lost another 12lbs is abouy 27lbs almost 30lbs of weigh reduction. If i got my doors cf and my roof id lose more weight bc my one door is heavier than my hood. If my doors were cf id probably lose about another 50lbs since the doors are probably the heaviest and the roof being the 2nd heaviest. So my total weight loss of cf parts would be around 80lbs. Which could shave off 1/10 of a second off your time from 13 to 12.9seconds which is enough to make a difference. I took all my back seats with new lighter front seats only. But losing unsprung weight is different than regular weight loss. Anything that is rotational weight you lose is about 10x the weight with standard weight. So if I shed 3lbs of each wheel which is unsprung weight it’s like 30lbs off each side so 60lbs which will have a greater effect losing unsprung weight and you probably would lose about 3/10th of a second off. Any rotational weight you reduce like lighter rims, billlet aluminum hubs, rotors, etc is unsprung weight and which you’ll see much faster times by reducing unsprung weight. FYI my car is a small car 1973 Datsun 510 similar in size as a mini cooper and my car weighs 1960lbs stock which no car manufactured today weighs under 2,000lbs. A Honda civic today weighs around 3000-3300lbs even todays mini cooper weighs 2,711-3,926lbs. The only car that weighs under 2,000lbs is a Honda crx and crx hf is about 100-200lbs lighter. 88 crx weighs 1,922lbs and the hf model weighing 1819lbs then 89 vex weighs 2048 and the hf weighs 1834lbs, and the 90-91 crx weighs 2,103lbs and the hf weighs 1967lbs.
