Best hood vinyl wrap video I have EVER seen on here. He didn’t need 30+ minutes, an ad in between every new subject, he didn’t BS I love it.
He has the best videos--they're to-the-point, great instructions, and NOT chaotic. I don't need videos with a ton of extra BS, I need videos where the pro just walks you through it. Christian makes it look so easy.
There is something so satisfying about seeing a professional work, he makes it look SO easy! great vid
Really one of the best instruction vids ive seen. very straight forward, no trying to be funny, nothing over the top. even the music was at a nice level.
Honestly. I love a little humor and fun but sometimes I just want somebody that’s going to be straight forward and not waste any time.
Bought a roll of VViViD vinyl for my 2011 impala hood. Gonna wrap it today by myself for the first time. Wish me luck 🤞
How’d it go? Attempting my own hood this wknd
@@legitsniper6212bet he never did it.
@@littlecamomagehahaha you're probably right. I'm about to wrap my first hood, and sand it for the first time. I ordered like $300 of supplies on Amazon to start makin my B5 avant look better so I better do it. I might post it.
Luck bruh been thinking that same
You should do a hood with hood scoop maybe you already posted on I haven’t seen yet
I love the Fila's Throwback and You are Simply the Best Craftsman in your field.... Amazing!
Thanks for showing these video’s. You’re a master of your craft and I really appreciate what you do. Ive learned a TON over the last few years watching you.
That's not VVivid he is using it's Avery
Thank you Christian,
I am about to wrap my Nissan Titan on VViViD ghost camo.
I appreciate your help on these DIY vids. I do PPF for a living but thanks to you I feel confident I can wrap my truck just fine. 😎👊🏽
That squeegee technique 😍
just tried this yesterday on my girls hood, mannn i fucked up bad. the wrinkles would just not go away. your squeegeeing is on point. idk how you do it!
Because he's not showing you he's heating
Use the triangle technique. It will be easier and you will have a lot less work. You won't have that amount of air under your wrap either.
This was my favorite how to video out of the 30 or so I watched sir you are master of your craft ... One question though when I have wrapped before I have had heat guns melt the viynl even on low I always wondered why no one every uses a hair dryer would that not essentially work better ?
Great video. Your shop is immaculate!
Thank you, definitely one of if not the beat how to vids ive watched. Actually will be the last. Im just gona watch this one a few times.
the best wrap video I've seen awesome bro
Hey thanks for the instruction. I am about to wrap my BMW hood this weekend in VViViD matte black. I appreciate fully detailing your techniques. Just gave me a little more confidence It won’t be a terrible experience.
what BMW did you wrap? And did it look good? Thinking about wrapping the hood on my BWM myself
Really good video bro like you coaching the coaches
Man, that squeegee technique is on point! 🔥

Very professional!
Awesome tutorial as usual bro!🔑🔥🔥🙏🏾
Nice tecqnique I just bought myself forged carbon fiber super gloss to wrap my whole model 3 for first time.
Just bought 2 of the same vvidid wraps to learn on my hood
i used vvivid wrap and it took me 6hours... My wrap was thick and very hard to stretch. In this video his wrap looks so soft.
Great instructional video thank you
This can’t be vivid I spent 5 hours really taking my time and I’m finally ripped it off and went online and found it is the absolute hardest to deal with from almost every person. At 7:40 it shows him squeeging the buckles. On my Vivid the would instantly create hard lines if you breathed on them. Up came the film and on goes the heat gun, only to find it’s discolored now from 3 secs of heat and a little tension. Ordered Avery because the consensus is it’s the easiest to lay. I’ve also used 3m and it is a dream in comparison to vivid
I agree. This is not Vivid, it is Avery. My vivid doesn’t lay like this video at all lol
Thanks for the video brother
I can wrap my own hood now thank you
Just spent appx 3 hours on the hood of a touareg and ended up wadding it up and throwing it in the trash. The main, possibly only, problem was that the wrap was minimum 10,000x stickier than what he's working with here.
Just wet apply it
He's using a pressure sensitive film. I have the same issue the a roll of tekwrap I have.
A product called Triple S solves all the problems
Was it vivvid?
@@Stckit1that’s the stuff they spray right ? I’ve seen a lot of people either spray the film or up under it but I thought it was just water, that’s nice to know
He treats the bubbles like water almost. Very gentle. This type of skull comes from hundreds of hours of practice, failures and trials
good video, I'm attempting to wrap my race car. 2 things I'm wondering. how much pressure is he applying with the squeegee and how much heat is he using?
I bought some a few months ago had no problems and ordered some more sametype and design. I tell you I could not at all work it. Waisted 5x 15 ft. Still haven't tried going back to see what the problem is.
Still got the tag on your rag, good thing you’re wrapping over that swirled paint
Nice tips
Sooner or later people will realize VViViD doesn't even use their own wrap in their videos. They know its bad.
It almost looks like Avery ,, I find VVivid super thick and sticky ,, only success I had was with Avery
I couldn’t agree more. This is Avery not Vivid.
100%, i've used more than enough avery to be able to spot it out@@beautytrendz101
Just a helpful hint: Your shirt and arms have dust and lint, so working from the inside to the outside prevents dust. Also, outside to inside, you're pushing dirt towards the center and not away. The same with top and bottom...you want to work on the top first and work your way to the bottom.
Are you seriously trying to tell CK what your supposed to do? Lololol And who exactly are you? Are you a professional wrapper let alone the biggest and best on CZcams? I got a good laugh so thanks😂
@@landondavid5773 say that to the reporter who corrected elon musk's rocket design. Criticism and humbleness is the only way to grow no matter who you are my brotha!
Could you please do a video of having a new junior wrapper to wrap a super difficult car and then you do corectiona along the way so we can learn from.the mistakea too ? Thx. 😊
Can you layer this vinyl? Put one color on top of another
What steps came before you sprayed that solution and laid this film? I’d love to know how/why that film was so easy for you to work with…
What temperature do you set the heat gun to?
How long can you keep vinyl on the car ?
where can I find the basics on VVivid Vinyl? I purchased a small piece to start on my Bike but have no idea where to start how to prep the surface, what temp to activate the
adhesive and so on?
Where can i buy the vinyl bro?whats the best brand?thank you!
Really need to wrap my car
U dont have issue with vivid not sticking ? Ive used at a shop and film lifts up and becomes not sticky during the job
Much respect to all our pros out there. I attempted to wrap my hood. Wrinkles up the a**. :(
Whar Color wrap is that Satin Black? And what brand do you prefer?
More than likely Avery Dennison
idk what type of film this guys uses but the tek r carbon from vivid DOES NOT lay as perfect as he makes it look. It bubble up as soon as I squeegee it
Same for me
just receive my order of satin black and it totally doesnt look like the one he has. super hard and not soft as in the video and its almost not satin it looks weird . .
i will try it out soon but first impression is bad
What spray did you use on the video to clean the car
I can’t find it but chemical
guys has something similar called wipe out
My vivid does not release like that, I have to use my whole body weight to get it to lift from the panel.
Pulled some paint off as well during install.
Mine doesn’t either. I think he is leaving a step out. I’ve tried twice and takes all of my strength to reposition the film. I’m going to wipe a thin layer of dawn detergent on and let it dry to reduce the tack.
Same with me I used all my strength and it still wouldn’t come up to lift wrinkles I’ll never buy that brand again
@@jamescummings9305 vivid vinyl is insanely bad and difficult to use
Which vvivid line is this? Vvivid is always difficult to work with
Question why are all the wraps sizes small, example 19x118 inches shouldn’t they be larger to cover the car how can anyone piece them together
It’s the wraps the reason the wrinkles are disappearing so fast, avery is very easy to wrap
How much vinyl wrap do i need to wrap a full size Sedan 4-Door. It's a 2018 Kia Optima FE
I wanna say 15ft x 5ft but if you want be safe, spend a lil more and the the 25ft x 5ft
@@AverageLuckNO NO NO do not listen to this guy. You need like 50-60ft x 5ft to be safe if you want to wrap the whole car
How much would it take to wrap a Magnum?
probably close to 50x5 to 55x5
@@AverageLuck You are very incorrect, 15 /25 feet will not wrap a 4 door sedan, as other have stated you would need a full roll of 60 feet
Would like to have seen removing the rest of the backing as the video skipped that part. Really good stuff though. Tons of useful tips
In the dozen or more videos of yours on how to wrap a hood, It's just not clear to me on how you remove the windshield washer nozzles. Do they have to be? Why do you not mention it? Do the cars you work on not have windshield washer nozzles on the hood? Mine is a '02 Lexus RX300 and the two wiper /washer nozzles are directly on the hood.
Also, on my vehicle the rear spoiler is visible on all sides. I have yet to find a video of anyone wrapping a spoiler that needs to be wrapped in its entirety. I'm having a very very difficult time with all the corners and basically having the wrap go all the way around and connect.
Look it up on CZcams I did with my daughter's Camry
How long does this vinyl brand can last on a car? I’m thinking of getting satin white
Depending on quality 3-10 years of durability
vvivid usually lasts 5-7 years
Correct me if I am wrong I used Regular VVivid and it stuck like crazy clue ,, is what you are using is the newer XPO ,, ?
Is that Vvivid XPO ?
Can a wrapped car go through a carwash?
Skillz
Thanks, but it can't be that easy... :)
It’s not 😭
Not even close to easy. Lol
I was told to apply wrap with soapy water and I did with success. Is there a reason no one is using soapy water anymore?
Are you talking when squeegeeing it or before he lays the wrap down
@@marblesrichard I mean before laying the wrap. Wet install as of installing window tint films
@@kenjlee There is tack reducer though you can try ,, just my own experience tack reducer helped but it's worth a try already blew $170 bucks and did not go as planned
The soap I'll try a small test thanks for the Possibility's out of all the wrapping shows I can say I have never seen that except when using you squeegee
@@marblesrichard I did a couple of wet install before and had good results. Last one I did few days was my first time doing it dry. I'd say it's easier to squeeze out water than air. Water also makes it easier to lift up and adjust. However more difficult to apply heat with a heat gun. Dry install is quicker and less messy. I did it under the sun and helps material get soften. I once did it in winter on a sub-zero cold day my carbon fiber textured vinyl went so brittle and ripped the first time trying to lift.
this is not vivid no way. and the backing paper was never shown, cuts in the video to avoid it , this gotta be avery. maybe 3m
Hey bro. How you gonna leave out the hardest step. Which in my opinion is peeling the backing off. You only showed the first corner and then you skip the rest of it……
I know what happened you caught hell didn’t you? You didn’t want show your struggle.
I wish you guys would put instructions in the box!!!! Wtf y’all.
How long did it take you to wrap that hood?
