Great rig Simon.I would have used it in the early 90s, granted for Tench,but the same rig scaled down.Size 10 main,size 16 hook on the hair. Got slated for it big time ,was called a double hook rig,unsafe,fish at all costs by some but I didn't care. How times have changed! 😁
The fake corn makes it totally safe so no worries about damage to the fish. There will always be people who disagree though but in this case they're wrong 😂

Thanks mate I been running this rig all winter but not having a rig ring on which might be why I haven’t caught.
It shouldn't make to much difference mate you could fish it with silicone or nothing and have the hair coming out near the top of the shrink tube as long at the hair doesn't tangle you should catch 👍

Hi Simon. Could you use this rig on other hook baits? ie wafters, popups? Thanks, love the videos!
Hi the trouble is you need to leave the Hookbait on the hair as once the match hook is in place you can't change the bait that's why plastic is better. I guess you might be able to pull the match hook through a wafter or pop up without splitting it in which case yes it would work but it depends on which baits you're using. To be honest but works so well with plastic there's no need to use anything else.

Cheers mate the angled point of the shrink tube should be on the opposite side to the point of the hook if that makes sense? It just helps it turn a bit quicker with less resistance a bit like a line aligner 👍

Only thing I would do different is use a barbless match hook as easier to thread on the maggots without bursting them.
Yep good shout mate barb less would be good although I didn't find the maggots burst with the barbed and these were all I had 👍
Hi Simon, i tried this last week with the korda pop up corn, & size 14 hook with 5 maggotts but it was lying on the bottom when I tested it & didn't look right, yours look good, any idea where I'm going wrong?
That’s a strange one mate, are you sure it was pop up corn as they do a sinking version too. I’ve found even with 10 maggots it still sits up off the bottom.
Would this work with shrink tube too rather than the blowback ring?
