As a BIG football fan during 2009-2017 I have to say that RM of 2010-2013 was by far the best RM I've ever seen. That team was much much better than the one that won 3 UCL in a row. As an Atletico fan you knew that playing against Barcelona/RM during those years it was going to be an embarrassing defeat. In fact, I think the 2012 RM deserved a lot more the UCL than in 2014 or 2016 lets say

But, people don't need to take my word for it. Google the stats. The facts are irrefutable. In any case, I'll take Ancelotti over Mourinho any day. Ancelotti is about to win his 5th UCL. He's the GOAT.

This Is football heritage. Not just the players but the introduction of his counter attacking football would set the tone for how Madrid played the next decade.
The genius of a truly great manager is to be able to see an unpolished diamond and turn it into a priceless Kolinoor. Mourinho has that gift, as did Brian Clough and now Pepe Guardiola.
Varane didn't force his way through quality. He was mediocre but for "some reason" Mourinho insisted on playing him. Similarly to Modric, the rest is history.
Casillas also wasn't out of the starting position because of Lopez' skill. It was the fact that Casillas was blamed by Mourinho for his tactics being leaked at the same magazine that Casillas' wife worked/works at.

Even Mourinho wouldn't have a 100% involvement even though most of them seemed to be his buys. Clubs like Madrid have multiple possible targets, the coaches are consulted with them not the other way around
Varane was spotted by Zidane though. Zidane was already working in Real Madrid at that time.

Morata : he wanted Morata but once he was there the coach was never sure of him as a starter.
Odegaard : another generational talent but Zidane never used him after asking that he was brought back.
Theo Hernandez: one of a kind player but never won the trust of Zidane.
Mendy and militao: two players who made it big during his tenure who were also signed by him.
The list clearly suggest that the team was set by precious coaches.
He is a great coach but just not good at spotting talent or even nurturing talent. Look at odegaard and Theo for example. Even vinicius shined after Zidane left

@@enorriatbitcoin7001 but you can't argue that at least Ancelotti, even in his 1st spell, as well as Zidane surpassed Mourinho's success at the club. For RM, actually any club really, international success is more important than domestic success and Mourinho failed drastically in that regard.
In fairness he didn't get the chance to further work with the team he himself had built over those 3 years, but some players were simply performing better under different management which would imply that it took Ancelotti eg to lift Mourinho's signings to the level we see them at today.
Mourinho did fine at Madrid, having had reasonable success at the club as well as having made really good signings, but there's reason as to why his spell at RM gets overshadowed by the years that followed

Coentrão is not a fisherman himself. He owns 3 fishing boats and employs around 45 people. Apparently the business has been successful. His bet on this business model is related to his past and the place where he was born. Fishing village and fishermen's family. If he hadn't become a professional player, he would almost certainly have been a fisherman himself.
I am Portuguese and I was surprised by all this, in addition to my prejudice being silenced. He has become a successful businessman, but when you hear him talk... Diego lopez wasn’t putting on great performances. He was there because Morinho was beefing with casillas. Prior to the classico, casillas leaked the starting 11 to his girlfriend, who was a journalist. Morinho got so mad that even when casillas came back from injury. Morinho refused to let him play. Casillas was still in his prime after that and only started performing bad in 2015. I still remember how I hated the 2014 league games for diego lopez being the keeper. He cost us the title, while in the champions league casillas was out of this planet apart from the godin goal in the final.
