- We were all given a decent dose of shock over the weekend when Kylian Mbappe announced that he would be remaining at PSG despite virtually everything pointing towards him joining Real Madrid this summer.
This has led us to look at some instances when players turned down offers from Real Madrid. You gotta admit, when Madrid comes calling, players almost always fall head over heels running towards them. But here are 8 players who shockingly rejected Real Madrid for various reasons.
And to feature in this list, it has to have been the player’s decision to not go to Madrid and not external factors. So, a case like that of David de Gea doesn’t qualify to be on this list. Let’s get right to it. Of course, starting off with the man of the moment.

It's funny teams like RM or any other for that matter think it's okay to dump a player when ever they feel it's in their interest , after all it's just business. The funny part is that players are expected to show loyalty to a club when it's not in there interest to. For example the RM fans are all bent out of shape because Mbappe used RM as a negotiating tool to increase his salary at PSG, yet they see no hypocrisy in RM using Haaland to pressure Mbappe to sign, yes it's just business. If in a couple of years Mbappe proves to be the best player in the world and is available, RM will sign him and if he starts to score goals all this hate will disappear. A new era is coming in football as wealthier owners purchase teams, the old farts won't like it but that's evolution and this era will see the rise in power of the superstar players.

Perez is a very successful businessman and is very serious about how he runs the club. If he didn't sign Neymar from Santos is because he claimed the numbers didn't add up and something smelled fishy. First of all, Real Madrid is his favourite club and Cr7 is his idol. Him joining Real Madrid had nothing to do with the Madrid fans. Those two factors made it look like he would join Real Madrid. Unfortunately he chose money over potential legendary status in a club with a rich history. Everything seemed to have been a perfect time for him to join Real Madrid because Benzema has like 2 and/or 3 more seasons in him, and 1 and/or 2 more seasons of him playing really good (I hope he plays like this until he retires in Madrid). He would play right wing alongside Benzema and Vinicius Junior. Those 3 would be a devasting force against other teams, he would also have the midfield trio that keeps blinding us with magical performances. Rudiger will make the defense a little better but Madrid need 1 more good CB, let's say Koulibaly or wish Ramos back LOL. Valvervde, Camavinga, Rodrygo, Brahim (loan to Milan) and Asensio show that Madrid has a bright future so Mbappe wouldn't have to worry about the future.
