I think both Cristiano and Leo could've been on the list as well. Cristiano Ronaldo replaced Raúl (different type of player though) as he continued the legacy of the number 7 and ended up surpassing Raúl as Real Madrid's topscorer. Messi replaced Maradona in Argentina, took some time but Maradona's number 10 and legacy are just so huge and Messi won Argentina a Copa, a World Cup and became their topscorer as well.

@@rmzidann I understand your point. Benzema was like Rooney in Man United days. Rooney had to move to supporting Role like Benzema in order to let Ronaldo shine. Is Benzema as good as Ronaldo? obviously no. Can benzema carry the team without Ronaldo? Yes. but somehow I do feel like Real Madrid is living on Ronaldo's ucl legacy. We used to call it 'Uefa Cristiano League' because he broke ucl records consistently. He helped madrid to build a strong character/identity in ucl. That's why Real Madrid is doing good in UCL despite being so bad in league. Ronaldo is the best example that hardwork will always pay off but Messi exists to show that some people are just born for greatness. God just make them build differently. No matter how hard you try you can't beat god's artwork.

Everyone knows Haaland is a goal scoring machine but I don’t think he has actually replaced Aguero. Yes he broke insane records in his FIRST season which is obviously remarkable but Aguero’s legacy at Man City is unmatched and he is a very big reason to why Man City are successful today.

Pep did not lie. Haaland can have the goals. He doesn't have the impact. He vanishes when the team needs him. And statpads against smaller clubs. Aguero scored a clinical hattrick against Bayern back in 2014. Haaland disappeared vs Tottenham, ManUtd (Away), Forest (Home) matches where securing those points were very important. Haaland is Haaland. He can't be Aguero

Woah woah woah haaland hasn’t replaced agüero he doesn’t have iconic moments for the club like agüero did although I know that he only had one season just don’t say he has replaced him yet wait a couple seasons because one almost unrecreatable season doesn’t mean he’s replaced him because he can still have quite a lot of bad seasons so not replaced but took the vacant position for now
