  • Hi there! I’m new to CZcams, looking forward to make lots more “follow along” videos. Will be uploading more in the next few days, stay tuned! ❤️
    In this video, you’ll learn from start to finish how to make four placemats, by first, deconstructing a large scale print of fabric, cut into 2.5 inch squares. Each square becomes framed by a border in the final placemat. Enjoy!
    Look for the link to my Etsy account coming soon.

    Love your improv style. So simple yet very creative. It works with anyone's favorite large floral print which leaves room for personal expression. I really appreciate your goal of sewing from what you have. We don't have to buy new or run to the fabric store for each project.

      Thanks Romona- I ended up giving them to a family friend who had since sent me a picture of her dining table with them in use.

    I would not know you are new to CZcams. I very much enjoyed you taking the risk of cutting up your fabric and made these beautiful, fun placemats. I could not resist but to find a face, lake, sun shining on the ocean and so on. Wow, what great fun. Thank you for being real not afraid to say well, I'll have to seam rip it's meditative. Happy sewing.

    Instead of cutting your sashing so short. Sew your small squares all on your sashing then cut them apart

      @@hopecorrigan3349 I would definitely approach this with all strip sets. plus I quilt my tops and backs before attaching them

    Very cool placemats! The strips you're referring to as borders are called sashing, by the way.

  • @chrisholley3530
    @chrisholley3530 Před rokem +1

    I would have taken strips of the sashing and sewn it to a strip of the flower fabric then sub cut it.

    Have you tried to add the squares to a long 1-inch strip leaving at least a quarter inch space or a bit more between the squares?
