Vango is such an impressive company. You can see just how much enthusiasm and joy they have for restoration. And the owner seems like such a nice chap. You scored big time finding this place Tyler.
good to see people who truly take pride in their work.....detailing cars is really a job for someone with compulsive natures.
thats a detailer I wanna see more of
Love the enthusiasm, now he just needs to get with the Hoovie/Wizard innuendos 🤣
What a detailer, vango is gold.
@Kwistenbiebel200 Labor dude. Lot of man hours went into that car.
I never thought I'd be impressed with a Buick station wagon. Amazing.
Yeah Buicks doing a great job
The roadmaster is probably the best wagon ever built.
Never thought Id be more impressed by a (non GNX) Buick than a Maserati
“That’s not a Buick”
That’s some good wood 👍🏻
Fun fact: GM overbuilt the Roadmaster line to the point where they were losing many thousands per car. Note that most manufacturers only spend roughly half what the car costs to make it, and the rest is taken up by marketing, worker salaries, options, and so on. So on a $40K car ( at the time ), they were spending something stupid like $35K on materials and losing thousands per car. Even fully loaded, with every option added to increase profit, they still lost money. It's also why it was built well enough to be restored back like this. Sadly, most are junk by now, usually being abused to death over the years.
what proof do you have? i'd love to read up on this
@@DrinkWhiskeyRaiseHell I remember my father, who almost bought one ( he got a Park Avenue instead ) talking to the head mechanic who he was friends with at the biggest (at the time) dealership in Los Angeles, and it was apparently common knowledge in the company that GM was losing money on each one and that there were slow sellers simple because as good as they were, they were still not a Mercedes or even a Cadillac in terms of prestige. This was also the height of the first SUV craze as well. GM built the right car but about a two decades too early. Now, every car is powerful, fast, uncomfortable, and made of plastic and dreams. How quick it can get around a track seems more important than if your back is in one piece after 300 miles. I can't blame Tyler for wanting a nice comfy car to do miles in.
@Plekto's Gaming
They were also heavily discounted from sticker as well...as was its Cadillac Brougham twin that were both built in Arlington Texas
Lol my grandma had one , on our way to church me and my cousins would make funny faces at the cars that were driving behind us 😂😂😂 instead of shotgun we wanted to ride in the back 😂
This has to be one of the most satisfying episodes of Hoovies Garage.
The video could've ended at any point where you said something would take a couple days, and instead it was a quick cut and we got the result immediately.
Thank you for that, what a treat.
love your content with Vango. seeing what is possible and for how much is great.
The Vango shop is an amazing local resource. These guys have a great work ethic.
They really seem to go the extra mile. Quality shop
Such a great addition to the channel
The Vango shop is an amazing local resource. These guys have a great work ethic.
Love to see it and the enthusiasm he has for his business.
One thing Hoovie excels at is building relationships with people that can get the job he needs done. He pays well for it though. Its great to see what Vango can do.
Building business relationships is easy when you’re spending $20k a month with them lol
And gets others in his area to use their services too.
@@jacobmayoral7614 Not necessarily. I have a good independent mechanic that specializes in European cars and some visits I spend $150 for the oil change or a couple hundred bucks at most depending on the service but I have a good relationship with him because I'm respectful and pay at the time of pickup and don't give him a hard time despite me not spending much when I'm there. Just being nice helps.
200k views in 8hr might help
@@7477238 it does and I thought the shop I went to were honest too but last time I noticed he try rip me off with something very obvious not broken at all.
Thinking back there were more cases like that with him so that made me kinda angry and frustrated.
I even recommended him to others to go have their cars fixxed.
Now he is on my shit list and every chance I get I sure not recomment him anymore 🖕🤨🖕
$4,200 for that amount of work seems extremely reasonable! Massive transformation and bump in value.
I agree. He's turned a car that he may not have been able to get his money back on into a car that he could easily sell for a profit...maybe a big profit. Paint the hood and fix the headlining and it may be able to win a Concourse prize.
Totally agree. That is one of those forever family cars that you just keep handing down. The Chevy SB 350 will have new and used parts available for a long time.
$4200 is ridiculous. I've been detailing for 12 years and would've done everything they did for half that price and knocked at least a full day if not 2 off of the time. You can tell by how much they were jumping around only doing things part of the way before moving to something else that they lack efficiency and charge the customers for that lack of efficiency
Vango's work is insane. Clear to see they're intensely detail focused, you lucked out on finding them!
"Maybe I'll just run and not pay the bill"
Hoovie obviously didn't notice the rifle in the office.
Hoovie may be fast, but not that fast.
Rifles!
😂
Well they'd still have his Metharitti I'm sure that would more than cover the bill if he did run.
The murder charge might be a bit higher than the bill lmao 😂
The Vango man seems to take serious pride in his work. It's rare to see these days, ya love to see it!
He's definitely the Andy Serkis of car detailing.
Yeah for sure nice guy and the works looks outstanding, clearly they take pride in the work they do.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Tyler gets Stuart / Vango to make a CZcams channel. I’ll surely subscribe, such a nice and enthusiastic guy. Hats off!
I would definitly be interested in that.
They probably should or better yet get the Velocity folks over to shoot the videos like they do for Car Ninja.
The best piece of advice my Dad gave me about cars - find a great mechanic, great tradespeople, and stick with them through thick and thin. Hoovie's a natural and it shows in the excellent people like Vango and the Wizard.
These are the cars and content we love to see!
@e you got me, 😄
Takes us back to the early days of Hoovie!
@e why
that rear hatch looks phenomenal, great job by those detailing guys
Vango killed it. Great job by them.
even though the price of paint fixing and detailing is expensive. This guy is a magician, he changes cars from shit boxes to peoples pride and joys. He is really skilled.
I actually thought the bill was going to be higher. When you consider the labor, the materials, the cost of premises, etc, and the owner's need to make a profit, you often don't get that much for 4K anymore.
@@nigel.w I thought the same thing. Very reasonable price
@@nigel.w I understand the overheads and cost of materials etc etc . I am not saying that the guy is a rip-off. I think his work is amazing.
But what i am saying is if you compare the price of the work against the actual value of the vehicle then it makes it look expensive for the car.
If you have a Ferrari or Lambo and have to pay 5k for a detail that is no big deal. But if you own a Ford Mondeo and the detail and touch-ups are 5K then it is looking a bit too pricey.
@@peternt2008 In that context, of course I agree.
The Roadmaster will almost be a keeper in the fleet when it’s finished Hoovie.
Love how excited he is about detailing/restoration. That’s the kind of person you want to do business with.
Hoovie is like a magnet for great hard-working people - Wizard, Ninja, the detailing guy - sorry, the name hasn't hit home to me yet - all of them are nice people, professionals in their fields - happy to assist and help in everything they can. Jeez... since when did I get drunk on a single bottle of beer with all the niceties. Anyway. I can still write. That's something. Greetings from Latvia, keep it up.
That’s what you get in Kansas, great people!
You write v well too.
We’ll call the detailing guy Van Gogh
I was born in Riga!
Stu Vango
Jokes, Jokes and more jokes... someone will be going to a pulmonologist soon..
I love seeing Stewart's work. He's a guy with a genuine passion for what he does.
Should've gotten a Volvo wagon. Gus Fring would never let his car fall into disrepair.
The real Gs drive Pontiak Azteks
Better call Saul! He has a Suzuki Esteem with Hoovie’s name on it.
His blue V70 was always enjoyably clean and well sorted.
I'd love to find another nice 940 wagon.
But I'd take a few american wagons.
*laughs in 1998 Toyota 4Runner*
Just a suggestion from an Old, Tired, Wore Out, and Retired Road Dog LEO.....If you have a friend in local Law Enforcement who is a K-9 handler and his partner is trained in drug detection it might behoove you to ask said friend to run his partner through, around, and under your Levante.....You know....Just in case somebody missed finding a little something, something between the bank that repossessed the car and your driveway. Like I said....Just a suggestion.
A very good suggestion, too.
That’s a great idea! I’d love to even see a quick video on it.
Too bad he doesn't live closer to Ed. I believe Ed knows K9 Mattis and Mark.
Tyler lives within 45 min of Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center. They do alot of training for Kansas Officer, might be worth reaching out.
Especially in case Hoovie or a future owner takes the vehicle into Canada or Mexico for a visit, don't want to find out there's another hidden stash at that point..
Mr. Vango is awesome, so detail-oriented. Wish more people were like this!
WOW im a bodyman and luv what they did with the Roadmaster! This has to be one of my fav. Hoovie videos. Great job Vango team!
Cool to see all of the work Vango is going on the Buick. Impressive level of detail and care.
Now this is content! So glad we are back to these interesting high mileage cars bought cheap with cool stories and quirks to discover from previous owners
Can't waith for updates on the old Porsches. They're so hot atm. Really having those vintage cool vibe.
It’s really great to see how enthusiastic and proud Stewart is of his work! What he did with the Buick is truly impressive.
i appreciate the detail vango go into not just some shop trying to get publicity they are genuine!
I don't know how you get so lucky finding these amazing Car Guys to work on your vehicles Car Wizard, The Ninja and now Vango. Frankly, I am incredibly jealous.
??? Ooh so when you actually have money to pay for services you get friendly people.. when you roll up in a 20 year old accord they aren’t so nice.
@@stereotypicalwhitemale848 yeah because ppl with 20 year old accords usually try to haggle everything down and are often cheap. some may even not pay them for their work afterwards etc. :)
Amazing
@@Scrmnd if the value of the repairs are worth more then the car they’ll ask for money before work most of the time but yeah they end up with the customers car if they don’t pay.
@@Scrmnd Yeah I'd probably want payment upfront or at least put in escrow before I was willing to do this kind of expensive work on their Accord.
I love seeing people being passionate about what they do
This is literally the ideal customer to have 🤣 if you where just starting a business, hoovies garage could 100% keep the shop going by its self! I mean honestly if you just started a mechanic shop or detail shop this is the guy to meet and work for lmao 🤩
Look what it's done for the Car Wizard. It's made him a millionaire!
You can tell that detailer really has a passion for his work 👍
Vango seems to really take pride in his work. It's nice to see!
Most everybody might disagree but the roadmaster is my favorite in the Hooptie fleet by far. Love seeing it get the treatment it truly deserves.
It's also the best/most overbuilt car he has. GM lost millions on these cars and were selling them at a loss in the end, simply because the market wouldn't pay what they were really worth at the time. They were trying to compete with the Mercedes S class at the time, which was also overbuilt to the point of losing money.
The only car that will last longer is a S420 (W140), which Hoovie needs to add to his fleet sometime. It really makes most of his other cars look like the fantastic plastic they are.
Really loved seeing Stuart's enthusiasm. Something about him makes me feel like he's the Wizard's long lost brother haha...
I am totally in lust with the Roadmaster. Love, love, love it!!! An absolutely perfect road-trip vehicle. I must find one. ✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
This is why you always refuse a search by the police. No officer is going to believe a regular guy without a huge CZcams channel that "I bought this car a while ago! I had no idea that was there officer! I swear!"
You cant refuse if they have a dog and it smells something.
@@getchasome6230 they can’t bring out the dog without probable cause, they have to smell or see the drugs to let the dog sniff, if they just bring it out you let them work then hit they’re ass with a fat lawsuit in court

Holy cow, I haven't crushed on a Buick this hard in forever -not to mention I'm old enough to remember these, the Parisienne and Safari, and LTD and Squire wagons being literally everywhere back in the day. What a time capsule this turned out to be! You gotta keep this one, Hoovie.

An ozone generator is a GREAT tool that you really ought to have on a shelf. They're less than $100 all day long. Plug it in, let it run for a couple hours, come back and air it out and you're set to go. They'll take care of even incredibly bad stinkies.
Concentrated ozone is an absolute killer on rubbers and plastics though, last resort in my opinion.
Careful with the ozone, you can actually destroy a car's interior if you use it too long.
It only works permanently on biological stink. Chemicals, cigarettes etc it just covers it up.
not gonna work on the smells from meth
Ozone will eat up just about anything, including chemicals and meth
Hey!!! I normally skip through some of Hoovies content but that Vango guy is infectious. I wanna see more of him!! 🙂
Fair play Stewart at Vango's work really is second to none. The roadmaster looks absolutely amazing. 👍🙂
To bad you couldn't keep the Testarossa, together with the 80s cop car and the Metharati you could've made your own Hoovie Vice episode

Stuart is a superb automotive detailer. Clearly goes the extra mile. Wish he was here in Louisville KY. Take good care of him Hoovie.
I would be going the extra mile on every car that was going to be featured on a CZcams channel that gets a million views. Every one of these videos is essentially free advertisement for the company.
Good detailers In lex my guy knows what he’s doing on my amg
What Vango did with the Roadmaster was amazing and the cost I think was super reasonable with all the work that went into the woody trim and of coarse the paint correction
You deal with really great people who fix and look after your cars, they are so positive which just adds to your videos.
no joke, that is probably the nicest Roadmaster in the country that can be daily driven.. Great projec and the guys at VANGO are definitely some knowledgable guys.
What a great channel. I love these stories you make skimpily by buying poor condition cars. Great editing too, seriously. Keep up the good work Tyler.
I love the Wagon. It turned out beautifully! I have a little story about one of these cars. A neighbor we were good friends with bought one of these brand new it was about a 92 or 93 model. We were all heading out to eat in the car and my neighbor knew I loved cars and at a stop sign he turned to me and said, Hey, Tim! Let’s see what this can do! We were all a bit surprised when it just spun the tires like crazy and took off. His wife was not happy but I thought it was awesome. I then did some reading up on it and found out about the glorious LT1 V-8. He had that car for many years and it served him very well. It was an awesome car to road-trip in.
The detail guys are so good and so nice. Thank god you found them.
What an awesome detailing shop. Love their attention to detail and going the extra mile for the customer. Cudos to you Sir. 🙂
He really did an amazing job with the wagon!
It shows that a good detailer is worth the $_$!

You can get the wood off by spraying it with a CO2 fire extinguisher. The extreme low temperature crystalizes the adhesive and breaks the bond between the fax wood and the body.
Or a air duster spray can upside down.

It's really rare to find someone so dedicated and excited by their craft. Make sure you stay in Stuart (Stewart?)'s good graces.
That's a nice roadmaster wagon. I just can't believe how much their going for.
I was looking for a nice 90s car as my new daily. Ended up getting a 1 owner Lincoln Town Car with 46k miles but was also looking at Roadmaster wagons. It was insane what people were asking for them, and that was a year ago. I was seeing some with ~120k miles in "pretty good" shape going for $7,000+. Got my Lincoln for 2800.
How much are they going for at the moment?
@@s1bulka depends, what kind of condition? 4k maybe for a "runner" that needs some serious help. Expect 8-10 for a "good daily" car that isn't perfect. Some very nice condition cars are 14+.

I love the Roadmaster! I owned a 94 Chevy Caprice Classic LS with the LT1 from 1999 to 2015. I absolutely loved the torque and awesome highway ride. Unfortunately, Ohio winters returned most of it to the earth. I sold it with 260,000 mostly trouble free miles. I'd love to find another some day.

Then why was the smell concentrated in all the cargo areas of the car?
They were in charge of moving the equipment used to make it more than likely. They explain it in the end of the video.
Disagree. This was car was used to haul some of the slurry that is a biproduct of the one pot 'Shake and Bake' method for meth production. Probablly threw the production pot in the back of the car without cleaning it and it dripped into the trunk. The chemicals include pseudophedrine, sodium hydroxide, ammonium nitrate and a solvent. Highly flammable and explosive.

Tyler said that Roadmaster would have had single stage paint when new. It was painted with base/clear coat. I had a 1991 Brougham and a 1995 Fleetwood, both of those cars were base/clear paint and assembled in that same Arlington Texas factory as the woodie. Vango did a great job on your Roadmaster. Looks like new! A new headliner would finish off the interior. Looked like the driver side visor is torn.

Wow that Roadmaster is mint! You should fix the interior headliner and get that bad paint spot on the hood fixed. Go ALL IN Hoovie! You know you want to!
I agree. The car now shows itself to be worth it. He says he's now 15k in. I dunno what a Concourse condition car is worth, but I'm guessing the maximum of 17-18k he'd have into it would pale in comparison to its value when all done. As we know, these kind of cars in good condition are very much sought after these days.
Road Master is stunning, Vango did you right again. Love the footage with them.
Fingers crossed on the Maserati smell.
