All 1 of them!

I watch Alex Jones for the Hoovie guest spots. Lets go Brandin. Lets hope Steve Bannon is his latest regular guest shag boy.

@@P3rformula might as well get an old 7.3 or an LS
I was watching an English Reviewer trying different loads on a Motorway at 70 mph. He lost (Approx) 7% of his SUV's range simply by putting ski racks and a pair of Snow Skis on it. That was actually about the same as he lost putting 4 other passengers in it. Aerodynamics is really important to EV's. He scaled it up, and a Caravan ended up taking about 60% of it's range.
That's what they are used for, for moving things!
Caravans halve fuel mileage on 'normal' vehicles as well. BUT can be refueled and on the road again in 10 min.
Well look on the bright side, you went viral and grew the channel. Plus you stood up and addressed the hysteria it created to set the record straight. That’s class.
Also, this is an opportunity to talk about HIF and the synthetic, carbon neutral fuel they are producing - long live the combustion engine.
Classy is he didn't RTFM or would have known the range estimates are based on city driving with regenerative braking

Exactly. This EV truck could be perfect for one person and terrible for another and yet people want to define it as one thing for everyone which is silly. Did they mean MPG, but the electric equivalent?
That’s a real world tow. You use the hitch you got for the payload you got. We don’t get to choose only aerodynamic things to tow.
Don't think you're a dynamics will make much of a difference you'll still find yourself dead on the end of the road.
No, in the real world people with different trailers use hitch mounts with varying heights and hitch balls to adjust. It's not rocket science.

@@chuckschillingvideos as a 3rd generation farmer I'd say, no, no they don't. We have dozens of hitches of drop sizes and we just grab the first one we can find, put it on the truck, "Is it going to drag? Is it going to bottom out?" "No, then it's good." The real world doesn't go up to a table/wall full of their different hitches and figure out which one will be optimal for the weight and load they are going to tow.

Those viewers don't verify anything they hear. Why would they be lied to? And if they were lied to, it wasn't that bad. And if it was that bad, it wasn't the host's fault. And if it was the host's fault, it doesn't matter anyway because their ENEMIES are lying anyway.
People already mod EVs in their garage. And built them from scratch in college. It isn't going away, it just takes a different skillset than working on carburetors etc.

Maybe he meant to say mpg, not mph? Since the lightning is rated at 61mpg highway, and it loses about 2.5× to 3× the range when towing, bringing it to roughly 20-24mpg... maybe?
To be fair I see these trucks targeting the people who want a truck but do not really use it as a truck.
Those people want a truck for what it can do, not what it does do. IMO ford FKd up hard only offering a tiny 100kwh pack when my sedan is comfortable with a 77, you don’t put a 13 gallon tank on a 400hp engine. The Silverado has a 200+kwh pack and has been shown to tow a 6’ high 8’ wide 25’ long trailer loaded over three tons to go 220 miles on the freeway which doubles ford and is equivalent or outperforms the 3.5 ecoboost with the standard 23 gallon tank.

there is an interesting company working on electric trailers for this kind of use case, the trailer has a battery built into it such that the trailer can supply some amount of a range boost to the pick up truck when towing. It is a really interesting idea, idk if it will work, I don't tow much, but glad people are looking into trying to solve this problem.
Still have the battery charging problem.
And lowers the actual payload
The reason you don't go 70+ towing is the tires and the mileage. Trailer tires rated that speed are very expensive, and you don't want to max it out anyway. Also, the difference between 70 and 55 is exponential not linear, as far as gas or electric mileage. To top it all off, it's flat out unsafe to go 70+ with a load like that behind you. All that being said, the Lightning is a step toward progress. We'll see what the future holds.

its not only Ford but all EV manufacturers, that show only the most optimal mileage per Kwh. As soon you put 4 people in the car or additional weight, the mileage per Kwh, will reduce drastically. but they will not tell you!!! they should show the practical mileage per Kwh.

I heard something about sulfur and gravity batteries being tested. Honestly I won’t stop driving my F250 7.3 Diesel until they arrest me or they impound it because I’m sure they will block registration in the future and I’m not giving up my truck. Why should I? It has low miles, it looks like new and it’s fully equipped for what I want to do. Plus I’ve put a ton of money into upgrades and I don’t plan to spend that or more again. Alex Jones gives head to chipmunks
You do a great job on your channel. Now, let's get dwn to the real topic both seen & hidden. This video was a TOTAL CYA deal. Trying to undo the massive bad PR damage that Jones created from thin air, using selected facts, ( as do ALL MAIN STREAM MEDIA outlets, daily, to lie to viewers). So now Hoov has to try to do a wrap of car review video so as to try to appease the Ford pple from totally ruining his present and future relationship with the largest truck manufacturer on US soil. It's rather comical to see how a guy that nobody including Hoov likes (Jones) when he 8s doing EXACTLY what MSM does daily to viewers by lying & twisting facts to suit there narrative. Like when WhiteHouse press secretary JKP lied 9 ways from Sunday about how Joe's gaffe of a tragic death of a woman in congress a month previous, was met by Our President asking where she is in the crowd during his speech. That part was not funny. What was funny was the circular loop of lies the WhiteHouse told to try to defend Joe Bidens inability to remember when pple died & how they can no longer be present for his press brief or speeches.
Anyway, Hoov had to try to smooth this all over to avoid a future relationship with Ford, & although Ford Executives would never act mad about this PR nightmare, even Hoov had to ADMIT he uses clicking titles to lure in viewers & subs. So this whole thing was a TOTAL Public relations disaster for Hoov, Ford, & CLIMATE Change/Global Warming activist. & Hoov doing everything possible to distance himself from his own content by pointing out small nuggets of misrepresented info from his vid to Jones show. When we see the exact same things DAILY from our own Main Stream Media & WhiteHouse, & are just supposed to accept it as fact, when they present lies & twisted dialog as real reporting. So, in closing, for once, maybe...just maybe... the Liberal Left got a dose of there own medicine. Clearly this scared Hoov. Not cuz he did anything wrong. But because Liberal public relations was given to them what they believe they give to the STUPID AMERICAN PPLE every day. & now nobody likes it. & this could cost pple something do to the damage believed to be done to everyone involved.
Welcome Liberal Pple, to the world of 74 million voters. Now ya get to understand how they feel when you lie to them daily on TV, youtube, & the internet in general.
Nice review BTW, Hoov. Especially pointing out the seat materials on the Ford EV F150. Man, this really scared ya, looking forward into your own future. Well... lesson learned son. U want clicks, so ya use titles to get um. & now no free trucks for you anymore from Ford. Unless your awesome review in this video got you off the hook.. Don't worry. Americans have short memories. & politicians know this. Just gotta deny deny deny, till the next distraction comes along. Just think if CZcams shut off your channel like they have thousands of others who accidentally did exactly what you did..?? Got the wrong pple upset at you. Those CLIMATE pple & Others will crush guys like yourself if you hadn't done all the hiding & fainting to try so hard to show how bad you act like you feel. The Ford lightning is garbage, and in the wrong situation, North Dakota winter driving, it could be a death trap.
As an electric forklift mechanic I think the automakers made a blundering oversight by deleting transmissions from the EVs. A forklift uses a massive gearbox to gear the motor down so that a full 10k lb load is barely noticeable on it but these machines also only go 0-8mph. It is impossible for an electric motor to perform optimally over a range of 10000rpm~ with just a single reduction ratio while not either unrealistically increasing power consumption or having lack luster performance. A simple 2-3 speed gearbox would help tremendously.
Great to see you recognized on a large automotive channel like Info Wars!

I don't understand why electric vehicles don't have solar panels on top. It won't fully charge the vehicle but it can elongate range, speed up charge times. And if left in driveway or parking lot for work, possibly charge a considerable amount or fully.
I think I can partially answer your question. On average, an EV uses 30kWh to travel 100 miles. I currently have a 100W solar panel on top of my Jeep to charge my solar generator for camping equipment. The most you could reasonably expect to mount to the top of a car would be in the neighborhood of 300W of solar panels. That's roughly 1% of the EV's charge per hour. If you use flexible solar panels that are less efficient but would be more aerodynamic that number would go down to a fraction of a percent. If you use full solar panels, you would lose more range in aerodynamics than you would gain with charging. With current tech it simply isn't feasible or worthwhile to do so. At best you could achieve "maybe" an additional 10 miles of range if you let your 300 watts of solar panels sit and charge for a 10 hour day before you drove home and that's under optimal conditions. Usually you're very lucky if you can achieve 50 or 60W from a 100W panel due to the changing position of the soon, cloudy days, winter months where the sun isn't shining down directly, etc. The actually numbers would probably be more like 5 or 6 miles of additional range for a 10 hour charge.
I think the new advances in the next few years will not make huge range differences, but will make the speed of recharging much faster. If the lightning had the exact range it does now but could go 10 to 90 in 5-10 minutes it would be much more viable for towing.
Even getting from 20% to 80% in 15 minutes would’ve been a game changer.

You and many other people subscribe to the idea that others will exercise your rights for you, but the reality is that you must assert your rights and stick by them. If you want to know what your rights are, look at what the enemy is labeling as "sovereign citizen" and mocking - they're pushing that propaganda to keep you a slave to them.
For example, each state DMV is operating a massive fraud, because federal statutes define MOTOR VEHICLES as "a carriage...used for commercial purposes" in 18 U.S. Code § 31 (6). And yes, this applies in EVERY STATE because each state is subject to the supremacy clause of the Constitution for the United States...so it doesn't matter how states define "MOTOR VEHICLE" if it is in conflict with the federal statute, which requires "commercial use" to be a requirement.
The other big scam is tricking you into believing that your car or truck is "equipment", thus subject to registration. Equipment is something used for commercial purposes. For most people, who just use their cars/trucks for traveling in private (i.e. you are not being paid to transport goods or passengers), they are CONSUMER GOODS (durable goods) which are not subject to registration. See UCC § 9-102 (23).

TFL Truck also towed identical trailers behind a Lightning and a GMC Sierra (gas), and had very similar results with the Lightning ravenously devouring range, and had to be recharged after 50 miles. The GMC went round trip and only used a few gallons of fuel. So your towing experience is not unusual for this truck.

As a person who puts 60,000- 70,000 miles a year on my personal vehicle a Ford Lightning Will never be on my list vehicles to buy. These are just regular cruising the road miles I don't have a business where I drive my truck, I don't do deliveries in my truck, I'm not a truck driver, I just drive a ton. I spend roughly as many hours driving every week as I do working, In most cases, I spend more time driving than I do working. I put 315 000 miles on my last F150 in 4 years. There are not many people that drive as much as I do. My place of employment is about 72 miles from home. 144 miles a day Just going back-and-forth the work. Now that it's hunting season is usually the time when I put the most amount of miles on my truck. OCT-JAN I hit the road hard. There are days I will work my 8 hour shift at work that worked then leave work and drive 3 and a 1/2 hours to my cabin to hunt for maybe 2 hours until dark. Then get up at 2am and drive back to work. From work to my cabin is 260 miles that day, then drive 260 miles to work the next morning. I do that maybe 3 to 4 times a week. When it's not hunting season I would drive from mid Michigan to Chicago every weekend. So All of that just to say in EV truck will never work for me. They say the batteries on the electric trucks are good for 250,000 miles, I would have to buy a replacement battery for my vehicle every 3 to 4 years Usually ranging from $20,000 to $40,000. On top of the original $80000 price tag on the truck. So I will never buy an EV!
Better battery tech is currently the “holy grail” of tech research. There are a bunch of different methods better than lithium ion and Nickel under development, some of which are already on the market; although they’re not mainstream yet. The stuff under development today can charge faster, hold more charge, and put out fires. There’s a lot more than just cars demanding better battery tech, and hopefully within 13 years a breakthrough will have made it to market. Additionally, I’m sure the companies will find ways to fill the market segments, or lawmakers will reform laws to encourage more flexibility. Do you really think Ford is just gonna stop selling work vehicles in 10 years because they’re all-electric? Either Ford will figure out a way to make it work in an EV, or they’ll get a lawmaker to add an exception to the EV law for utility vehicles. I think there might already be one. Of course, there will be a market for recreational-commercial vehicles, so I’m sure companies will find ways to offer them regardless of the legal landscape.
As for repairability and customizability, I agree nixing them would be a huge loss. My hope is that right now, the EV market is dominated by silicon-valley thinking, with the vehicles designed more similarly to iPhones than traditional vehicles. Even traditional manufacturers like Ford are hiring from a talent pool that was shaped by Silicon Valley, and are chasing market trends that were similarly inspired. However, even within the tech community, repairability and openness are becoming significant issues, with lawmakers especially in Europe beginning to legislate towards improvements. Hopefully, as electric vehicles become more mainstream, and thus need to broaden their appeal beyond just rich socialites and tech enthusiasts, they will standardize and open up their construction. Just the huge demand for customizable parts, combined with economies of scale, make me almost certain that within a few years you’ll be able to buy universal parts and vehicles designed to be upgradable. Plus, once people have to start paying $20,000 to repair their cars every few years, they’ll demand manufacturers find ways to make things more repairable or less prone to fail. The all-screen interiors of today very well just may be a trend, as screens may become redundant options instead of the vital instruments they are now. Once you start seeing people driving around without speedometers because they spilled soda on the dashboard, lawmakers are bound to step in.
However, I do agree that it won’t be the same, as EVs are inherently more complex than mechanical cars - at least in terms of stuff that can be easily removed and replaced - meaning that they’ll never attain the same level of customizability that combustion cars have. It’s also likely that repairability will be limited to specific market segments and brands. So that is pretty sad, and custom cars will almost certainly become less accessible.
Of course, I’m anticipating a lot of change, and it is valid to doubt it’ll all happen before 2035. 13 years is a pretty long time, however. Even traditional cars have dozens of features standard now that were extremely expensive 13 years ago or not offered at all. Hopefully, progress will be rapid - especially as the EV market grows. Even if things fall short, 13 years is plenty of time for lawmakers to realize their mistake and amend the law. The whole 2035 date was likely designed less as a hard deadline, and more as an incentive for companies to invest in EVs. Much of the development necessary for EVs to become mainstream, some of which were outlined above, are unlikely to occur without the kind of investments that can only be justified by mainstream products. This creates a kind of trap, where lack of marketshare depresses investment, which then further limits marketshare growth. By putting a 2035 deadline on combustion engine sales, then, lawmakers are providing car manufactures with certainty that EVs will obtain market dominance - creating an incentive to invest in them - while also foretelling the collapse of traditional markets - encouraging even the most reluctant car manufactures to invest in the change. Of course, completely destroying the combustion engine market is - for reasons already highlighted and for many more - a tragedy. However, the need to reduce emissions warrants a shift of such a magnitude. Admittedly though, it will need to be paired with a similarly sized shift to renewable electricity generation, or it will be pointless or even counterproductive. It is my hope, as well I am sure as many of the lawmakers’ hopes, that by 2035 the EV market will be so developed as to naturally have taken market dominance. Hopefully then, the laws entirely banning combustion engines will become unnecessary, and can be reworked to allow niche markets or necessary exceptions. Only videos like this, which highlight where progress still needs to be made, will get us there however. So keep doing what you’re doing! And great video.
My cousin is a master mechanic and loves Ford. He drove his lightning from Indiana to Florida and said it was the worst trip of his life. He was so stressed out trying to make it to each charge station. Half the time he had to travel with his hazards on and drive 45 m.p.h.!!
Was he towing with the lightning, to drive so slow and worried to make it? or just the charging that far apart? Concerning future hot rodding of these cars...we simply don't know. There is no aftermarket support yet. But that is how companies like edelbrock, holley, etc came about. They saw a need for aftermarket so they went about creating a business to fill those needs. Who knows what entrepreneurs of the future will be able to come up with. The problem I have with EV's is that we're moving away from one finite resource (oil) and going to an even MORE finite resource (lithium, cobalt, nickel, etc). Most of those vital elements are mined in places that are, shall we say, less environmentally friendly than the Western world. Not to mention the labor conditions are pretty awful.
Making these an actual work truck will be a serious challenge and the engineers already knew that. Honesty wins the day.
True. But many trucks and suvs are not used as workhorses or off road, they are bought for 'lifestyle'. So while people want inappropriate vehicles just based on looks they need options that are appropriately powered.
Unborn babies shouldn't have soot particles in them (new studies confirm this is now the case) just for peoples insecurities and fashion sense.

The last point you made is the most important - how often does your cell phone or laptop crap out? I've worked on enough cars to know one of the first things to go on a properly maintained car is the electrical wiring, sensors and electric motors. Your starter is just an electric motor. How often does that go out? Your window switches. The blower motor on AC/Heat. Most of these vehicles will be dead and irreparable after 10-15 years.

Honestly the hitch you used makes it more realistic, a ordinary person isn't going shopping for a hitch that levels the trailer, they just need a hitch. People apparently hate hearing the truth about these trucks..
Exactly. I’d love to see him use a drop hitch because there’s no way you can convince me under same testing conditions it’s making enough difference to be worth noting on an aluminum flat bed trailer. I’m not pulling my enclosed trailer down the highway at 50mph either. That’s ludacris.
Electric car owners are kind of a cult.
@@HIDHIFDB I've never seen a group that worked so hard at polishing turds.
The Ford Lightning was designed by the marketing department. The shape is the same as an internal combustion engine truck. Electric power does not need a large blunt front . Electric power allows for a much more aerodynamic shape, allowing for further range at speed.
What pisses me off the most is governmentally mandating unproven technology without considering the repercussions. What about all the people living with just a parking space and no ability to charge it overnight? Families with multiple cars? People who have to park on the street? There is no way to create enough charging locations to handle the need when it takes almost an hour to charge. In the city a small car meant to drive to and from the local corner store could be convenient, but for the rest of the country not very practical.
Not to mention areas with freezing cold winter weather.
Knowing how the government works, if they get a majority of people to start driving them, they will find a way to tax the hell out of charging to recoup the loss of gas taxes and in the end it will be just as expensive if not more to drive anywhere. They are already attempting to tax based on the miles driven. Add that to the increased cost of initial purchase and price to replace the batteries once they wear out, your looking at a 10 year EV loan period. Pretending to be better for the environment, when purchasing a used fuel efficient Honda civic is 1000x better and economical, considering the environmental impact of merely building a new EV, adding that the majority of current electricity being created depends on coal burning fuel plants.
Welcome to the Green New Scam, using your tax dollars to make your life less convenient and impractical, while the rich will still be driving their gas guzzling Bentleys and flying around in their private jets.
