My husband and I married for all the wrong reasons, we were wretched, our marriage was falling apart, but God saved us as individuals and as a couple. I love when Preston acknowledged that issues are present in marriage but it’s about pushing forward WITH God! God will move when both are surrendered to Him! My husband is my best friend, that matters! Praise and glory to God!

I'm almost 14 years in with my husband and THAT is something that I learned. I didn't know how to do that going in. When you commit to your martial covenant, you choose to do that and you LEARN that, God blesses the marriage in unimaginable ways.

My husband and I were such great friends. In fact our friendship was one of the biggest reasons I wanted to marry him, kept saying "imagine waking up next to your best friend". Almost 6 years later, friendship is dead. Feeling very sad about that.

So beautiful to see love. I’m going in 27 yrs of marriage and to see where God has taken our relationship naturally and spiritually. We still stay up late night talking and laughing. He’s such a goof ball. Even the new people that we become we learn to learn each other I could go on and on about my hubby. No it’s not easy but he benefits from the love I have for God. Jackie thank you for being fully you, not shying away or making yourself "palatable" for others. In my healing journey with the Lord, I have come to love myself, all of me, but there aren't many reflections of me out in the world which makes life a little lonely sometimes. It's been such a breath of fresh air to listen to you these last couple of years on your podcast and relate to the way you think and explain things. It's like you have the words to explain things I feel. Also thank you Preston because you gave me hope that one day ill find my best friend, one who loves all of me even when he doesn't understand parts of me. ~Congratulations on 10 years, a beautiful family, and incredible testimony!

So that you can love and lead your wife in a way that expresses CHRIST love for HIS bride. The grace is there for you to do it and she deserves it. It's not about you. “I reflect on how many people got married at the same time that aren’t married now” my husband and I got married when I was 19 and next month we make 18 years married. 4 other couples that we know were married within 6 months of us and they all were divorced within a couple years. It’s crazy.

Yes!!! I agree, that with each wedding anniversary, I reflect on God’s faithfulness and goodness that we are married even though so many of our friends are not.

In agreement with Jackie, simpler is better for the most part. I had no bridesmaids and a matron and maid of honor (sister and best friend) and my husband had a groomsman and 1 best man (cousin and best friend), and we were so happy with that.
