    wait so....
    "Collect, store and distribute water even in a drought!"
    And your answer is "collect rainwater!"
    While yes rainwater collection is a fundamental part of a good water plan... We're talking drought here usually meaning a distinct lack of rain.

      HVAC condensate is being collected during drought times. For us that is 30-40 gallons of clean water per day. On a small farm that is designed for low water use, that is plenty to get you through a drought. We use a ground cover of woodchips so that the water needed for plants is mostly for establishment so watering animals is where most of our water goes.
