I’m sorry… did you just call Tarzan Garbage?
And MEET THE ROBINSONS???
For real though, sometimes you can be *too* picky

"The real colonizer was love all along" got me. Got me good.
Not wrong, people are starting to figure it out!
Hahaha that got me too

Especially with the commentary from the two moose characters.
At least the first is better then the 2nd lol
Agreed 😭😭♥️♥️
I feel sorry for your child hood. Gesh.

Man that parody song hits differently when you watch the expressions John is going through. His utter acceptance that she could scatter him in the wind at the end is quality
What do you mean by "parody"?
Quit reading Colors of the Wind like that please?!
Reminds me of Richard the Necromancer singing Slaughter Your World
You should check Paint's version on his first After Ever After
Somehow it almost sounded romantic, hey she COULD do all that she said but she doesn't!
the paint with all the colors of the wind scene is more beautifully animated than anything Disney has done since.
I loved the last bid about John Going to England to treat his gunshot wound by boat it cracked me up🤣🤣🤣🤣

Notre Dame is ALMOST great. Just needs reworking in some parts
I don't think they meant that they exclusively made garbage, it's just that during the "Disney Renaissance," ALL of their movies were hits, both critically and commercially. Besides, Emperor's New Groove is from the same era, and that's singlehandedly Disney's best movie.
I'M lOsING to A BIrd!
@@billyeveryteen7328 Still, compare their mentioned "garbage" to the absolute dogshit they produce now on a regular basis and all of them are the "Titanics", "LotR", "Alien", "Terminator 2"'s of their respective Genres
"Hellfire" is still the best Disney villain song!
Garbage? Tarzan and it's soundtrack by Phil Collins was absolutely incredible!
Oh yes, absolutely! And obviously Brother bear was great too! And the Lion King was the best.
I really liked the songs, but I wish the characters had sang them. Phil should have just sang the end credits version.

Both “Tarzan” and Phil Collins suck.
You guys keep talking about the music over and over. Now imagine Tarzan with zero music in it and tell me what you're left with?
I'm a different native tribe but we had a huge talking-to right before this came out from several prominent adults in our community regarding this movie. I was just a little kid, but nobody was happy about this thing. And goddamn. Y'all knocked it out of the park. Applause to whoever sang that riff. That was amazing.
I would have loved to hesr what they had to say 😶😶😯

Paul McCartney had done that too
And Disney was hoping this could be a Best Picture contender. 😂 The Lion King was considered the B-tier movie, with animators wanting to move up to work on Pocahontas.
And lion king ended up being the peak of the Disney Renaissance
I think they put newer employees on it and they took the opportunity to show them what they can do when there's less interferences on new ideas.
Pocahontas REALLY REALLY REALLY deserves a lot of appreciation!

This is the most scathing honest trailer of a Disney movie y’all have ever done. I’m impressed.
Never even saw this garbage propaganda flickk, I'm only here for the scathing lashing against colonizers😃😃😃😃😃
It might be tied with Divergent or The Maze Runner but for different reasons.
Tis a thing of beauty.
You might even say it was savage...
Yessss BRAVO 👏
Pocahontas has an amazing soundtrack, probably the best of any Disney movie after the Lion King, can't believe you said it was forgettable...
Pocahontas is a disgusting white washing movie that uses a real little girl to be in a "mature love story" with her kidnapper and r*pist. A man who betrayed her tribe several times and kidnapped her and brainwashed her into essentially OG Stockholm Syndrome.
@@abikegavin9641 mate I was talking about the music
This movie and Mulan in my opinion!
The one good thing I remember about this move is how beautifully her hair was animated. That's it.
One of the funniest things about this movie was how she learned to speak English just by listening with her heart 😂 although I will say I found how Pocahontas and her tribe were so deeply connected with their land was displayed very beautifully
Yes, she is an Airbender.
When I was a kid this movie actually made me appreciate nature more. I never cared about the love story, and I was too young to really grasp the inaccurate historical details. I just cared about being one with the earth, lol.
She's an avenger/X-Men... So I'm not surprised
They did have ownership though. They had just been at war with another group of Native Americans when the colonists showed up.
Ohhh, so that's where The 13th Warrior got it! XD
Tarzan was not garbage
Phil Collins really made the movie great with the soundtrack
same with Brother bear, even had Tina Turner do 'great spirits' lol
Period that album alone was magic
I like Tarzan fine, and some of the "garbage" films the same way, but Pocahontas was and still is MY Lion King. And this guy somehow became more of a jerk than any other reviewer.
Eh, I hated Tarzan. I'm not a Phil Collins fan and I didn't like the animation either.
More like phil colin destroyed the movie.
I lost it at “we know magic, we are druids I’m a mage”💀💀💀💀
Loved the all-Kevin Conroy readings at the end. One of the best to ever do voiceover work.
My family are full blooded natives, Paiute tribe and Choctaw and my mom unironically loves this movie! She has collectibles, dolls, the movie poster in a frame. I tell her that the movie is complete bull crap, but she still likes it. Probably why I'm like that with my love of Star Wars. I thought Pocahontas was okay, the animal shenanigans always got a chuckle out of me.
its historical fiction the talking tree should give it a way lol
It's a really nostalgic film for me and it looks gorgeous! Plus I actually love the music in it. It definitely has a lot of problems, but I still love it anyway
Its certainly a step up from the fuckery that was natives in Peter Pan

I think we can all agree Brother Bear was a work of art and beauty, particularly when I'm waving this broken bottle around. *Come at me!*
I like Brother Bear (1 of the things being the character Tug), but I feel the same way about Pocahontas.
Brother Bear, with the Rutt and Tuke commentary on, is one of the funniest things I've watched. It's like Rick Moranis & Dave Thomas did their own HT during the entire movie.
QUIT TELLIN PEOPLE I’M DEAD
Brother Bear is one of my favorite Disney movies! I also really like Bolt
Brother Bear is an underrated gem. Estelle Harris thinking her husband is dead might be my favorite joke from any Disney movie.
I need a full version of the colors of the wind remix 🤣🤣🤣
I like this movie. It's not the most amazing thing to come out of Disney, but it's still enjoyable.
My two favorite songs from it are "Colors of the Wind" and "Savages".
The parody songs that are made for all these old Disney movie reviews are comedic gold. I think all of those are the best honest trailers.
The song in this one got me 3 times. Hilarious!
Absolutely they are!! AND they're so well sung is what makes them so great!
dude for real, that was one of the best parodies i've ever heard. amazing
There is one good line in that song: “If you walk the footsteps of another, you’ll learn thing you never knew you never knew “ - I like that one sentence in this movie.
Edit: I made a mistake above and since this is getting a lot more attention than I expected here is the full correct line of the song: “You think the only people who are people, are the people who look and think like you, but if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you’ll learn things you never knew you never knew.”
I get annoyed when people think they know stuff that they know they don't know.
Footsteps of a *stranger*. But yes, great line
Best line: Wiggins, why do you think those insolent heathens attacked us?
Because we invaded their land, cut down their trees and dug up their earth?
RIP David Ogden Stiers
There are a ton of great lines in this movie, including the entire Colors of the Wind song. It's just unfortunate that all of those great lines were put into a movie with THIS subject matter... It really does try to "bOtH siDeS" colonialism and genocide.
@@AK-jt9gx it’s been years
Can't believe Pocahontas got an honest trailer before The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
I know the movie is problematic, but Pocahontas has always been my fave Disney princess. Me and my mum played that soundtrack on cassette until the car stereo ate it up and the stereo never worked again 🤣
The one thing that is actually kind of novel about this film compared to almost any other film about the first colonies in America is that they made the songs the english sang be almost exclusively about how they wanted to kill natives and steal their goods. That is actually kind of cool that they were not shying away from that in a kids film.
It’s what we do best.🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
The song "Savages" was especially accurate about how the two sides likely viewed each other.
Love and Hate in Jamestown: John Smith, Pocahontas, and the Start of a New Nation

Pocahontas was a great movie about a strong woman having the courage to go up against her father and protect someone she loved to stop a war.
If you listen to the song paint with all the colors of the wind you hear a wise woman who uses compassion and love to get someone who never questioned their actions or beliefs to change their mind.
The music and movie are amazing, and make pocahontas one of my favorite Disney movies.
Agreed - it’s a classic. I realize it isn’t historically accurate, but most people who complain about it haven’t even seen the movie - typical herd mentality.
@@rb4128 I saw the movie when I was a kid and loved it but after learning more about what actually happened I recognize how insulting it is to have used the life of a real girl who was exploited terribly by colonizers to tell a watered-down story that downplayed how awful and violent colonization was for the indigenous peoples so they can tell a false story of *checks notes* 'a strong woman having the courage to go up against her father and protect someone she loved to stop a war.'
Fun fact: Christian Bale, who gives his voice to Thomas in this Movie, played John Rolfe in Terrence Malick' The New World, based on the stories of the real Pocahontas. Rolfe was her real husband (Billy Zane was Rolfe in Disney's Pocahontas 2, and Mel Gibson's brother was John Smith)

Brother Bear was good, no garbage, I mean I still tear up when the oldest brother, Sitka, died 😢 The music was beautiful, respectful designing aspects, but I haven't seen it in a while, just remembering through my 9-year-old memories. The older woman, I think her name was Tanana, was my role model. It had one of the most complex relationships (Koda and Kenai) and didn't focus on romance but the bond between brothers and friends.
I don't care what you say, the music slaps. The Alan Menken won 2 of his 8 oscars (more than anybody else alive) for this film. The run to the cliff at the end is just **chef's kiss** bellisimo.
