"The only relatable character for anyone over 25 (Get out of my chair)" That made me laugh so hard. Well done.
Lol
I watched that, paused and simply called out "Nailed it!"
Mr Butabi has always had problems with his slacker kids.
I was hoping they'd include his quote with the threat against Christian
How could he not say for the male teacher, "NEVER GO IN AGAINST A TEACHER WHEN GRADES ARE ON THE LINE!"?
Breaking out into applause IS a thing, just usually when someone breaks something, embarrasses themselves or falls down
We used to do it when the lights went out.
@@Igorcastrochucre oh right your still talking about applause. gotcha.
When the plane lands... 🥴
"When someone embarasses themselves"
So, you're saying that it makes sense for them to be cheering for the blond girl, right?
Lol
"she's got glasses and a ponytail" is my favourite line of cinema
Lol pretty much every guys dream
Don’t forget the stains on her shirt, there is no way that can be fixed
That movie is so funny and stupid
She’s got paint in her overalls!!!
which movie this?
RIP Brittany Murphy. She was so talented.
Yep. Did the voice of Luanne AND Joseph on King of the Hill, I tell ya what.
Gave the best head in hollywood.
She was incredible in Don't Say A Word
Fucking tragedy; Pneumonia and self-medication lead to her death, if only she‘d gone to a doctor
@@DerdOn0ner She was poisoned
“Played by a time traveling Paul Rudd” no but fr this man never ages
Shout out to that man’s surgeon, that face is a master class is mixing good genes and subtle intervention.
True, he's like fine wine, he simply gets better with age. I can't believe that he's 52 years young now!
Lol
He look like he just made this movie last year. Lol
He and Keanu are from the same brotherhood of immortality.
Moral of the story:
"If your sister is step, the law says yep."
cruel intensions
"She knows what you're doing, so get to screwing."
Lol
But if she's under 18, don't slide it between
Well, they were not actually related, were they? He had different parents, and she did. Only his mother then lived with her father. But I never understood it the way they shared a parent. I don't say it's ok but, well, it's a bit different from actually sharing a biological parent.
"Get out of my chair" officially the best line of this movie.
I like when he threatened Christian - "Hey, you. Anything happens to my daughter, I've got a .45 and a shovel. I doubt anyone would miss you."
@@Joe_Parmesansuch subtlety too!
@@Joe_Parmesan That line reminded me of Red threatening Kelso in his garage in That's 70 Show.
"You think the death of Sammy Davis left an opening in the rat pack?"
When dad came home, if there was a friend in his chair, I told them to move. If dad was in the room, he would be like, no that isn't necessary while I knew he hated sitting on the couch.
"it's mostly kids not knowing who likes them" just like in the original novel 😂
"If highschoolers were really this clueless we'd have way fewer seasons of teen mom" killed me.
I love how the movie relishes in the fact that it's the '90s. Much like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, it defines the decade so well that it becomes practically timeless.
Yeppers!
The 90s referenced itself more than any other decade.
Love this comment. It’s a timely and timeless movie.
This comment makes no sense. If it was so timeless, why are you referencing 1 specific decade?
@@Cuzjudd the movie is SOOO dripping with 90's culture that it almost feels like a modern period drama set in the 90's. it doesn't feel dated - it feels intentionally vintage. you watch it totally aware of the context of the era it's set in.
All kidding aside, the fact that Amy Heckerling was able to create touchstones for the 80s (Fast Times on Ridgemont High) and the 90s (Clueless) is high achievement.
Yeah, I feel like the team really missed out a lot of the great stuff about this movie. It was all criticism. I'm surprised, but they seem to have missed the point.
Spot on!
@FunDumb Hero I've seen Honest Trailers be comedic but still managed to dig deep. So I think they were digging here but didn't get deep enough.
“The always sensual Wallace Shawn” was not a phrase I knew I needed in my life.
My reply was “inconceivable”!!
Alicia Silverstone was so good in this you can't help but root for her.
sad that her career went down with the bat nipples, in her case the lack thereof.
Hehe hehe hehe heh root heh
Yeah Yeah BADOINGGGG yeah
She was very charming and Cher had growth. With the wrong actress it could have been just a shallow vapid teen girl but I felt like Cher had a genuine heart she just kept messing up when she involved herself in other people's lives which is the whole plot of the movie. Alicia Silverstone was perfect
Yep - it works because she’s clearly smart and a good person, but also spoiled and a bit silly.
Did.... did screen junkies really just make a "help step-brother" joke? ...... and why can I not stop laughing at it?
oooHHHOOOhhhOOOhhh...
NOW I get it. I wish I didn't :-/
I actually LOL'd at that one. Might be the funniest HT line yet.
Yes, i loved it, and i am not ashamed.
I spit all my coffee on my table…
Came to the comments for this. He has allot of zingers but this one might’ve taken the cake
All of this is 100% true but I don’t care this movie is perfect.
Came here to say this
Wow. If he thinks a college guy dating a high school student is bad, has he ever watched Buffy? 🤣🤣
Well now they have to do an Honest Trailer for Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie or the show. If they do the show, they'll probably riff on Xander today, like, what happened bro!
Or a hundred year old male vampire dating a high school girl.
That was creepy AF to be fair. Not because he was a vampire but because he was clearly much older than her when he was turned
For Michael K. Williams, say "Spread the word, darlin'. Omar back."
Respect. RIP.
He's not Trapped In the Closet anymore.
Whoa! Michael K Williams passed away?! Unreal... :(
Also say, "Man gotta have a Code."
I don’t know if y’all give this movie enough credit. Like the script is actually pretty genius
Well when you consider what Clueless is an adaptation of, that's a given.
Because it's an adaptation of a Jane Austen's novel called Emma
@@paolacaviglia982 I mean I do know that
Jane Austen wrote the book that inspired this film so yeah
This was actually a really entertaining, well scripted, pretty wall acted movie.
Vyggg
You say that for nostalgia
@@HolaMundoTheMisteriousAG it's true
@@HolaMundoTheMisteriousAG me when I don’t know what I’m talking about
Appreciate the love for Wallace Shawn - I met him once and he was the sweetest man. One of those people you can instantly tell is a good person through and through.
I love Wallace Shawn. He’s so talented and funny, and in some of the best movies I’ve ever seen.
The nod to "Not Another Teen Movie" was spot-on. That's a great movie. Watched it again last year. I was laughing a lot.
Lol agreed
I love that movie!
It should be shown every day like Shawshank
it’s honestly classic, and captain america long before he became captain america. jake wyler will always be my chris evans
That movie makes me happy in pants.
The only time high schoolers broke into applause for other high schoolers was when they royally screwed up
Ya, only genuine ones were for awards or when teachers or class finishing school left
can confirm
Honestly, this trailer makes me want to watch this movie *MORE.*
It's still a really good feel good movie. Rich people who work and aren't uberevil.
@@0ceanicify Exactly. Cher is just that fucking loveable.
True!!!
It’s a genuinely fantastic movie…and still probably the best Austen adaptation since the Firth miniseries.
“There’s not really much of a plot to this flick…” Funnily enough, that’s the joy of it, to me. When Amy Heckerling stops focusing on plot and lets the actors be themselves, it becomes a funny and thoughtful character piece.
Yeah I agree. In the 80’s that’s what allowed her to create classics like Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Johnny Dangerously
Read Sir Walter Scott's review of the original Jane Austen story Emma. He literally says way back in 1815, that there is no story.
@@Slowdr What's your question? I don't understand what Ln means.
@@darkwitnesslxx sorry, that was a mistake, I was watching the video on my phone and then put it on my pocket, so it typed by accident
RIP mid-budget comedy films... also RIP Brittany Murphy, you were too cute for this world.
Too cute? What the heck is "too cute for this world"?!
so you're saying she is better off dead because she is too beautiful?
@@nelsonta00 maybe the world does not deserve such cuteness??
Facts, mid budget movies are so missed. It's what makes cult classics or big franchises later.
i watched this when i was staying home from school bc i had the flu and i missed a school event but i really loved it, i thought cher was such an adorable genuine person and the movie gave off this really wholesome, sweet energy
All of which seems to have completely escaped the screen junkies. Who exactly is being clueless now?
@@brianstorm5488 Yeah when they said "Skipped over the social/class commentary" I almost fell out of my seat, did they release two different versions of the film?
It does! Screen junkies missed a lot this time :(
@@brianstorm5488 Oh, thank God! I found my people.
"Help brother, im stucked in the washing machine" KILLED ME.
My favorite scene in this movie will always be Brittany Murphy changing her outfit repeatedly while standing still at a party. I have done this multiple times in her honor
If we're doing random '90s movies, there's one about Jamaican bobsledders desperate for an honest trailer...
ah yea Cool Runnings
Jamaica got their bobsled team, now they need some Honest Trailers
Idgaf “Not Another Teen Movie” still cracks me up😂😂😂😂
Yeah, if you've watched all the movies it's spoofing, it's a great movie
Chris evans eyebrows in that movie is just 😂🤣 everything
Me too lol
If you like the movie and have never watched it with the cast commentary, you have to. It's hilarious and they all seem to have had a great time making that movie.
The thirst for Wallace Shawn in this video is both excessive and completely accepted.
Also, Bridget Jones' Diary was also a modern retelling of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.
To the point that a character's name was literally Mr Darcy.
They really did Elizabeth dirty in that one, though.
Can we get a honest trailer for 1992's Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Or the TV show
My 12 year old self was in love with that Buffy! Haha SMG did a great job too.
No Kristy Swanson .
I think they did it already. Not sure though.
Oh my god have they not done that yet? No they did that! I swear I've seen it before and it was rad but I'm too lazy to search.
The 2020s will be the decade of 90s nostalgia. Can’t wait
Agreed, the 2010's were the decade of 80's nostalgia!
The '50s was the nostalgia decade for the '70s, the '60s was the one for the '80s, the '70s was for the '90s (though anti-'70s attitudes thrust the '80s into that role)... After that, I lost track at the time. But by this time, the tendency to make it 2 decades back, the nostalgia decade for the 2020s should be... the 2000s. (okay, NOW I feel old!)
@@Mibbitmaker omg. I still feel like the 2000s were just last year
With the lights out its less dangerous
I thought we just had 90s nostalgia in the 2010s? Should be 2000s now.
"Clueless," Baz Luhrmann's take on "Romeo and Juliet," "10 Things I Hate About You," and "Cruel Intentions" are my favorite "your assigned reading for this week is now a major motion picture starring the centerfold from your Tiger Beat magazine" films.
Since you’re scuttling around in the 90’s, do The Crow, pretty please and thank you very, very much? (Oh, and please say “it can’t rain all the time”)
Clueless is a perfect film. There's nothing else to say about it
But this honest trailer made me laugh a lot
Teen Fantasy-wise i totally agree.
Lol
Agree. But I think it was “way harsh” to a fault, see my comments above.
Agree
You showed a Not Another Teen Movie clip.
So I expect an Honest Trailer for it by the end of the month.......goddamit!
Yes! I love that movie
Not Another Teen Movie was basically an Honest Trailer for teen movies.
Yus
@@FanboyFilms lol nailed it
"The always sensual Wallace Shawn." 😂 Thanks for that!
I was waiting for the reference to 'Emma' and am so thankful it was there. Not enough people know what it's based on. Thank you!
I have based my entire parenting style around Dan Hedaya's portrayal of Cher's father. Gruff, scary, intimidating, genuine, loving, never abandons people under his care for any reason, and most importantly, will threaten to kill potential dates. "If anything happens to her, I have a shotgun and a shovel. I doubt anybody will miss you!"
Lol
He is legendary
jokes aside, that sounds really shitty
So you are a grumpy old man who can't take care of himself and needs his daughter to remind him to take his vitamins? Also, scaring young kids isn't cool anymore.
No wonder your 5 wives left you.
Yes, let your daughter discover and explore love and sexuality by threatening to murder anyone she's interested in. Sounds really healthy.
Before the trailer I was just like this movie is legendary. Nothing can change my mind.
Clueless is one of my favorite movies and has been since the 90s. I laughed at the trailer...still absolutely love the movie
Well.. It is
This movie is a MASTERPIECE. a clever and humorous and heartwarming remake of Emma
What about the movie Emma? Have you watched it
Much better than the last adaptation!
I was 17 years old when Clueless first hit theaters. It's a classic, and this honest trailer is even more so🤣
If we want to play with young Paul Rudd, he did a movie called "Overnight Delivery" with Reese Witherspoon. If you did an Honest Trailer for that, you could pretty much mash it up with Road Trip to show how they both have basically the same plot.
I love that movie so much! I watched it a million times! Underrated classic!
Is that movie any good? Never heard of it...
Yes that movie is good! Yes watch it
Overnight delivery was so solid
Brittany Murphy forever rollin with the homies in heaven. 😢
😢
One of my all time favourite films! Clueless just takes me back to my teenage years!
References to his character in The Princess Bride everywhere kills me. Wallace Shawn is awesome.
I was going to post a comment asking what Paul Rudd’s secret is to still looking like he did in the 90s. Then I remembered how I looked in the 90s.
You know what, I’m good.
Did not expect the washing machine bit, fell of my chair laughing 😂
Paul Rudd is a vampire or a "Highlander" immortal or something like that and I will NOT hear otherwise!
Yes, and Jared Leto is even more so than Paul.
@@TheBOG3 Agreed.
I love this movie and Cher is a sweetheart and she does become a better person.
She made over her soul 🥰
Yeah, they really missed the point a lot with this trailer :(
4:30 they weren't even trying to hide it in 10 Things. They literally named the school Padua.
I thought you guys going to make "She's all that" honest trailer, since Netflix make the sequel (or a remake?🤔) "He's All That"
Not Another Teen Movie is low-key gold. Perfect shoutout.
This was screen junkies’ infinity war.
Also, do Not Another Teen Movie next!
This was really well timed being that I watched Clueless for the first time a few days ago.
you should do an honest trailer for the Clueless tv show some time. its amazing how they managed to work it into something that was enjoyable to watch on a weekly basis
I know we're all super cynical in 2021 but I really like this movie. It's quaint in a charming way and even heart-warming.
"I'm caught in a washing machine"- OMG LMFAO. Best line ever.
I don't get it.
@@seanwoods5943 You better not search for it. 😏😂
PLEASE do Honey I Shrunk the Kids!
Since you're doing 90s teen movies can you also do 10 Things I Hate About You?
"I am cought in the washing machine" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 floored me....
100% here for Honest Trailer’s robust defense of Jane Austen
In all fairness to Clueless, Mr. Knightley DID first compare himself to being an elder brother to Emma before back peddling at the Highbury ball.
@@crystalward1444 They were kinda related in an extended family way....
At least they didn't remake Mansfield Park. Not sure what arrangement can be made for Fanny and Edmund.
Knightley and Emma were in-laws via his brother ad her sister, so kinda parallel to what Clueless did but not quite.
@@crystalward1444 I have read everything but Mansfield Park. Emma and Knightly were not blood kin. Which is all that really matters.
Just realized she picked the top/bottom part of the outfit with the exact same pattern.
Good thing she has that machine helping her.
calm down, edgelord. why are you roasting cher horowitz like shes a real person. it's a parody
@@helenetanner7911 It’s not based on a true story?

"Get out of my chair!" - Yep, I can relate to that.

Do an Honest Trailer for Hocus Pocus
Breaking out into applause was a thing back in high school for me. I can never know why they did that.
That "Not another teen movie" scene is gonna cost you. NOW MAKE AN HONEST TRAILER ABOUT IT!
Please say: “What is that? An honest trailer. Says who? Screen junkies.”
Love it!
@Screen Junkies Please do an Artemis Fowl Honest Trailer, that was a travesty
Since I am living across a high school. Yes, cheering for each other is still a thing plus I miss those movies.
Soo, there was a lot of "kids breaking out into applause" at my school, but we were usually mocking each other. It was a really good tool for discovering the sociopaths in class.

You got to do "Blast from the Past" now man.
Watched it recently after many years since I last saw it and was surprised to see it's held up really well. Funny how a film can remain timeless. The original Blithe Spirit with Rex Harrison was made in the 40's and it's still a brilliant film.
