Dave, Steve, Luka, & Vito each build a warband dedicated to a different chaos god in this 4-player Path to Glory campaign. Dave (World Eaters), Steve (Thousand Sons), Luka (Death Guard), & Vito (Emperor's Children). Each will add to their warband at the beginning of every mission. @@trajanfidelis1532 Nope, Khorne has a sorta Viking-esque sense of honor, in that you can kill as many babies as you like, but only once you have defeated honorable warriors. It is one of his few good traits.

I love Path to Glory, but this battle shows what I both love and do not love about it. The randomness of unit generation doesn't feel great, especially if someone rolls great and others do not. Add in extremely powerful Relics and traits for some armies and things can get so unbalanced.
I do agree with a previous post: if a roll for a unit is something that isn't in stock, then the person should get to pick or at least get something equivalent, especially when the roll was for something as good as Havocs.
Other than those things, though, it was mostly a fun game to watch and I may re-subscribe to watch the rest of the series. :)
I love that everyone sounds like they are having a stroke when they say Luka's warlord's name.

@Zoomer Waffen actually they have the best gunline infantry and probably contenders for some of the best heros. there's a massive anti-slaanesh bias at MWG.

Send me a disgusting cheese list, because virtually no top comp ITC lists are slaaneshi.

@Zoomer WaffenI do remember, thanks for the insult. And even then, it wasn't the most cheese option from chaos at that point. Also, don't know if you haven't realised, but, that was 3 editions ago. Slaanesh is not a cheese mark to play, not by far, alpha legion or red corsairs are however and alpha legion's plenty of screen time. MWG doesn't have a bias against slaanesh, but dave sure as shit does.

Description:
A pack of warp talon's of the world eaters stand beside their chaos lord Bulbazour Lord of Blood, a horde of slavering khornate cultists come forth with melee weapons to back up the rise of the ascension of the chaos lord and hopefully gain the blessing of their lords or an ascension into a chaos space marine themselves, it's doubtless many of them will perish, after all Khorne cares not for from whom the blood flows, only that it does.
He has much to slay, much blood to spill and mighty warriors arranged before him, a desperate Violent urgency to spill blood, regardless of the outcome Khorne will be pleased and in all likely hood? Bulbazour will enjoy his death if it comes and if not, if all other contenders lay dead before him?
Woe the simplest, most moronic of the chaos gods, for the simplicity of Khorne bellies it's sheer destructive nature, few worlds will be safe, especially if even a replica of Angron's chain-axe graces a daemon princes hands.
Slannesh:Emperor's Children War-band-The Titan's of Titillation.
A true classical space marine war-band of the Emperor's children, some infected with the blessed obliterator virus, aboard their exotic likely loyalist stolen Rhino, they shall drive onto the battlefield and show their perfection with their lord and his mighty hammer and the glorious cacophony of the squad of Noise marines~
Russel Thorn intends to gain ascension and with the loathsome grace, the elegance and skill he holds with his hammer, he may at the forefront of battle, wearing the skin of defeated enemys perhaps in mortalhood or perhaps merely recently, prove himself as the only one worthy amongst four of ascending and bring excessive misery to many a planet and make a chill crawl down Eldar and Imperial backs at his very name in time.
Slannesh will be most pleased.
Nurgle:Death Guard War-band-The Swarm
A diseased plague marine Carl'Gugul'Gor, leads this horde, this swarm of pox-walkers and beloved cultists on-wards to victory, for the hope of glory for father Nurgle and the ascension of their warlord, truly they serve Nurgle with their body's that will decompose and be mulched on the steps towards the ascension of another of Nurgle's favored children.
With a regenerating body and chaos blessed plate, it may take more then any of them have to put down this favored beloved son of Nurgle and perhaps he can simply endure all that come forth to stop his ascension, Nurgle believes in decay and all weaken, lessen and die eventually, this one will be there to laugh with a hopefully eventually jolly smile.
Tzeetch:Thousand Sons War-band-Fate Whisperer's? ((Correct me if I'm wrong.))
An exalted sorcerer of Tzeetch drenched in hubris and apart of a delightful cult of mutation, with a blessed multimelta carrying hell-brute by his side and a loyal pack of intelligent Tzangors, the way's of Tzeetch and the threads of fate say ascension is up for grabs and the knowledge gained, the power obtained is more then enough for people to follow behind him, the changer of ways may truly have desires for a champion, but can he outsmart the other lords and will a mere blunt instrument, a staff be enough to knock away and slay all who dare approach?
Will Psychic trickery and guile be enough to overwhelm the forces arrayed against them? Against sheer numbers? Will the Hell-brute put down simpletons? It's all for Tzeetch to decide, the hands of fate are fickle.
And any one of them may prove victor.

This was only more proof that Slaanesh units need WAY more love than the other gawds, sad to see those rerolls ;( Slaanesh gets shafted again, no pun intended ...
It is kinda sad, 8th edition it's honestly the best mark, and the units he got, the best units arguably for that mark.

I think Dave might be playing his relic wrong. The rules are made assuming rolls happen one at a time. However, we group stuff together for the sake of speed. Dave's relic says that if a 6 to wound is rolled, it does 3 mortal wounds and the attack sequence ends. This means each wound should be resolved separately and that the weapon can't possibly land that 6 more than once, as it would end the attack sequence.
Ignoring the negative in that game-changing rules mistake, this video was an absolute blast to watch. I really love the banter between the 4 of you!
Actually, there are a number of weapons like this and what it means is that the Attack Sequence for that Wound roll ends, meaning there is no Save roll. It has been specific in other places, including a FAQ somewhere (just not for this weapon).

This is how battle reports should be. This reminds me of how our old table top community would play, it was mostly joking and maybe a couple dice rolls.
In the words of If the Emperor had a Text to Speech Device, Vito's lord just got an "Ultra-Fisting".
On a separate note, overall I think Vito or Steve have the most threatening armies here. Even if their rolls sometimes don't show it. With the rolls, Gara'gul'gulgor is the most terrifying thing I've ever seen. XD

I kind of want to play a Path of Glory that then goes on to higher and higher scale campaigns. So first you play a bunch of competing warbands, then you scale up to single detachment armies fighting over a certain area of a planet, then perhaps two detachments over a continent and possibly eventually scaling up to a full-blown Black Crusade.

those are somewhere on the net, iirc its old 6th/7th rules that GW released on their site with a whole bunch of Chaos related supplements materials( like hobby guides and some Fluff/short novels and rules for deamon worlds) during Christmas season 3/4 years ago.

I would like to ask where they got these path to glory rules. Is it something they made based on the 7th edition rules or is it something in the faith and fury book?
Hey maybe someone can help me here. Was looking at the rules and had a question about the Chaos boons table in Daves version of PtG. If your playing a force thats not chaos say Sisters of Battle and you roll ether a 2 or 12 how do you explain them turning into a spawn or demon prince? has it come up in any of their PtG campaigns?

I'm not in the loop as to how current the Path to Glory rules have been kept, but I do recall that an Advent Calendar style event on the Games Workshop/Black Library websites a couple years or so ago included them.
Googling "Warhammer Path To Glory" should get you the (discontinued) rules, or www.miniwargaming.com/tools-and-rules/campaign-rules-and-resources/ has their rules for a prior (customized) Path to Glory retinue.
As an Emporers Children player...Damn...I would be happy to start off with that Slannesh Warband ..his Warlord is a beast on the charge..a Oblitorator is awesome...and noise Marines are the best Troops in my opinion...(watches video)...Crap!!!..Vito needs better Dice...

For these free-for-alls you should be able to shoot into another combat with randomised targeting.
Revolting resilient would actually give the chaos Lord a 6+ disgustingly resilient rule.

I now kinda wish I could homebrew a campaign similar to this.....4 players, 4 different armies....start with an hq (cant be named), a unite of at max 20 troops (doesnt matter which, will all be divided into squads of 5 no matter what) and a unit of elites....winner of the first match may choose to gain another 10 troops, a hnit of elite...or a heavy
