GOLDEN BOOT - Restoration of an Extremely Beautiful Find that will surprise you

- In this video, I will show the complete restoration of a very beautiful and old find that came into my hands. This is an old vintage metal "GOLDEN BOOT" which is made of bronze or brass. The thing is very unusual and unique, reminiscent of the golden boot of a gnome or an elf. Crafted with impressive detail. Presumably, this thing was intended as an ashtray, a jewelry box, or just a beautiful interior decoration. I assume that this thing was made in the 1950s. There is a stamp and an inscription on the foot. What can it mean? Perhaps this is the manufacturer's mark, or the place where this boot was made. My task was to carefully restore this very rusty and dirty surface and not to damage this "GOLDEN BOOT". To preserve all traces of history on the surface as much as possible (dents, bumps, defects), this always adds value and uniqueness to an antique item. I hope I have coped with this task. In my opinion, the result turned out to be amazing. I really like this old vintage thing. I will keep valuables and jewelry in this "GOLDEN BOOT".

"NIMOR" is not a plant or a factory. “NIMOR” is a trademark for consumer goods, which once, in addition to the main production, were produced by the Black Sea Shipyard, located in the city of Nikolaev. “NIMOR” is a reminder of a large country, pieces of life of which are captured in heavy bronze figurines. There are a lot of figures released, some are less well made, some are very well made. Many were later melted down as scrap bronze. Nostalgia for a bygone era.

Вы совершено правы! Их отливали на ЧСЗ цех 4 (цветное литье). Было много видов фигурок. Одно время делали даже подсвечники! Могу добавить, что на ЧСЗ пытались делать делать хрустальную посуду. Теперь там нечего нет! Как и самого завода! Только воспоминание осталось от былого величия.
Был старый ржавый башмак, а стала золотая туфля мило улыбающаяся всеми своими гвоздиками "голливудской улыбки" 😁👍 Браво рестовратору! 👏

1. What kind of acid did you use? Oxalic?
2. What was the white powder you added to the acid?
3. What did you spray the boot with before you used the fine grain sandpaper?
4. What was the solution used for surface cleaning and degreasing?
5. What was the spray used to remove the polishing residue?

A beautiful find, a beautiful restoration. 10 out of 10. Of course, it will always niggle that you couldn't get inside the toe, but you did your best, and it is excellent work. Must have taken hours, days, but it's beautiful now. Well Done! :)
