I always have hated that quote it is insanely untrue it should be *if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is unless it's illegal* that would be a fact I know people that for $15 will get you over $1000 from amazon. What's the catch super illegal and they are basically using you as a fence to convert Amazon money to realmoney. I wont go into to much depth but with a mix of social engineering and Amazon insiders, they could get ahold of anyone's account and get their amazon store cards.

correction: ogre is a 3D renderer, NOT a game engine, though it is commonly used in game engines as a baseline for rendering
I was about to mention this. Though his point stands; an emulator isn't going to use a high-level abstraction for rendering. They're going to directly interact with the graphics API for things like accuracy and probably speed (as emulation as a concept is already very inefficient)

As a person who was new to emulation on pc, I almost fell for this but it seemed sketchy and that was verified by the "verification stage". I closed that window straight away and went to play on the ps3 emulator
The even worse scam is websites making me believe that I can buy a PlayStation 5 for $500

You definitely know your stuff about cyber security. I would be very interested in a video showing everything you need to know about it all. VPNs , browsers , scanning for malware as I don’t know much about it myself and it would greatly help a lot of people.

he hasn't done anything for absolute begginers, but he has a video series about showing off viruses and how they work and how to spot them. virus investigation it's called, and he regularly talks about scams and also cyber security attacks that may or may not leave you vulnerable (for example, he talked about the royal pipeline hack which wouldn't affect your devices but still explained how it all happened).
as much as I don't like the videos, thiojoe has some about scams and how to spot then and it's more oriented to begginer, but don't look too much into his older videos.

@@ahreuwu thanks so much Iv had a pc for a while now I can code and stuff and I can usually identify a scam but it’s just that I don’t know the slightest about a lot of the more complicated things that muta says and does and I don’t understand a lot of the terminology. Thanks for the video recommendations I’ll check them out.
@@christyhosford261 if you cant understand the terminology sadly thats on you. first hand educating honestly for this level of stuff i feel is far more beneficial than having a bias poised experience tell me otherwise.
its like a prisoner tell you how to boil eggs out of a plastic carton with wires and a battery. when in reality you could look up how to boil eggs and get told a plethora of ways, the biggest usually being in a pan of water.
its a shame though that tech is such A VAST array of things and terms and points to be educated on. i wish luck on your endeavour.
@@Dockhead yeah I kind of feel like a lot of this stuff has just got ahead of me like I’m watching videos of stuff and I havnt learned the basics and the base layer of information you need to understand to get the video. I’m not exactly sure how to learn it either of course there’s going to be some comprehensive videos on CZcams and articles online but even then finding ones that begin at square one and don’t rely on you knowing a plethora of other information is not easy. I guess though it’s just about how much effort I put into it which right now is not much.

If they put half the effort into actually making an animation they'd probably earn real money.
They went this far and didn't use interpolated 60fps bloodborne or that 60fos mod to make it more believable

I don't know if you read the comments but just in case, I wanted to say that you're doing a great thing here. Often, people who fall for a scam feel embarrassed, they feel ashamed and the last thing they want is to talk about it. If no one talks about these scams, more people will fall victim for these scams.
Also, you obviously know a lot about computers and software, etc... but you explain things so well that even my mom understands what you're talking about and that's important.

I saw the ModernVintageGamer video on Spine, and it made sense but also confused me that he covered
this scam on that. I knew it was scummy, but straight up GPL violations? They really just want that cash, fast
Also an emulator fan, I find that controller support may vary a good deal between different emulators. It makes sense that they always have a menu to assign your buttons. I just seem to find that getting them to recognize controller inputs without some sort of g0-between software is spotty, either because I'm being silly somehow or their coverage isn't the same. There's lots of other features to make use of between different emus too.

I remember about a year ago I found PCSX4 after looking up the orbital emulator and was taken aback at how elaborate it was, even thought I had a feeling something was off, because of all the detail I though I would downloaded to see if I was actually real, then as soon as I saw the surveys that was it (I was even planning on making my finding into a video). I'm quite into emulation and I was kinda fooled, so I'm glad people are talking about it more now that actual PS4 emulation exists.
i've been doing this kind of stuff for over a decade and i've only fallen for a scam once and avoided another 1 or 2 more. it wasn't until 3 months ago that i finaly got a job and now i can buy the games.

7:10 As you were talking about with frame rate breaking games...Lance McDonald made a mod to unlock bloodbornes frame rate and it broke many of the games logic. He had to make an additional patch to make it functional.

I remember falling for the same exact style of scams, recorded windowed gameplay and surveys, when i was trying to emulate 360 games on PC back in the day.
These scammers just try so hard to fool you, but we know we can see through their schemes.
