  • As a follow up to our video called "How we make hanging baskets on the nursery," this short clip shows you how the baskets look after a few weeks in the greenhouse, and is followed by a sequence of photos taken over the last 15 years or so of our baskets in situ at home.
    Some of the basket photos were taken as late as October, showing their longevity and value.
    Thanks for watching, and sorry that the clips and videos are all over the place landscape and portrait wise!

    It's like a cottage garden in a basket. Pretty.

    I adore the description “Big and Blousy”. Thank you for the mini excursion to a English greenhouse. Was a colour feast for the eyes. 🌷

    Thank you for all your great advice on hanging baskets. Your advice is the best advice I've come across anywhere! I'm going to make my own hanging baskets for the first time this year and you've been a fantastic inspiration. Your presentations have been clear, informative and friendly.

    The baskets are all so beautiful! My Mom had a lathe house filled with hanging baskets of all sorts but mostly with fuchsias. Thank you for the lesson in the original video to this one.

    Hi love your videos, could I use snap dragon as the centre piece? But also what bee loving plants could I put in my hanging basket.

    • @timstopgardentips9634
      @timstopgardentips9634  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi, I always find the snap dragons to be a little short lived flower wise, unless yoh keep deadheading them. They'd make an interesting addition, but personally I wouldn't use them in the centre. As for the bees, they seem to have a preference for purple and blue flowers if that helps :)

    Thank you. So beautiful!! Cant you start a basket anytime of year or best toake it a spring project? Florida USA here.

    • @timstopgardentips9634
      @timstopgardentips9634  Před 3 měsíci +1

      In the UK we are limited to the warmer months for these type of plants, but with other varieties, anytime is possible.

    What a great vid Tim esp now we see your handsome face talking to us and also showing us the plants and their names. What is the purple plant around the 6:20min mark that looked like a Hydrangea. Was that a geranium?
    Amazing pics and very inspiring. I'll have a go now here in Sydney Australia and see how I go. I know the lady at the nursery so we managed to pick some of the plants from your other vids. Unfortunately they're all big. But...they're all rescue plants as they're dying so bought them from $1-6. Bargain. Wish there was a way to show you our trials. Thanks again for a great vid Tim!!!

    So is that the only fertilizer you use, the granular at time of making basket? What kind is it?

      There's food in the compost which lasts the whole season, but a monthly foliar feed with Miracle Gro soluble feed is always appreciated

    How is it that the plants do not crush each other, or even break or bend under their own weight? I have had trouble with my hanging baskets looking scrubby before they ever get that full.
