Thanks for the tips. I definitely need to pay some extra attention to the one hanging basket my husband always brings me for Mother’s Day.
So gorgeous! This is great inspiration for me. I can’t wait to make my hanging baskets. The lantana is so pretty with the creeping jenny, the verbena, and the petunias.
The hanging baskets look gorgeous. Love all the flowers you used. Great idea using the creeping Jenny and the verbena.
Great information. The baskets are already pretty when they fill out they will be beautiful.
Watching from GA. I love your videos. You're so creative and practical. I love that. So glad to see that you revitalize your container soil also. I see so many influencers tossing it out. That is so wasteful to me, especially in this economy. Keep up the good work!❤
Great job!! Thank you for sharing, you are such an inspiration, the hanging baskets look great and going to get fuller, I love the fertilizer you use, I’m excited to get mine done.
This was so helpful! My front porch is pretty shaded. We have huge trees in the front yard. Our porch is pretty big and has lots of space for hanging baskets. I'd love some ideas. I tried ferns, but against my shaded, green house, they kinda disappeared into the background.
Glad it was helpful! Consider begonias, creeping Jenny, impatiens, caladiums, coleus and geraniums for color in the shade.
Gorgeous! I planted that exact lantana in the ground last year. It grew to almost 5 feet wide! One plant and it was glorious!
Yay! Can’t wait to plant my hanging baskets. I face northeast in zone 6, and Creeping Jenny goes bananas in my full shade.
Can't wait to see them filled out in another month!
Miracle Grow has some moisture beads that you can add to any soil that can help with retaining moisture. Additionally if a basket does get a little dried, you can use a wetting agent or a drop of dish soap in a tub of water to help rehydrate the soil. Basket soil can become hydrophobic if it dries too much, those things can help reverse that.
You really did a lot of 😢rearranging/relocating of plants too. Your petunias look especially wonderful. You are a really good teacher. Thank you
I never gave a lot of thought to thinking about the center of the basket. That was a valued tip for me. I've never been very good at containers, but I haven't given up completely. I still can't figure out how you can get so many plants in one container😮! I'm lucky to get 3.
I love the hanging baskets! Great purchase at the antique sale. The combination of flowers is so pretty. Will you be running the drip up the wall and over to the baskets? There are Command outdoor light clips that might be large enough for the tubing. Thank you so much for sharing.
I just hang drip lines hanging directly from the baskets … it would be prettier if I went up the wall but I’m just not there yet!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. For a basket with lingers, do you need to punch holes in the linger?
Great tips. This will be my first year adding hanging basket to my yard. What size is your hanging basket?
Very pretty Amanda ❤❤❤ quick ? Do you pinch your nasturtium seedlings?
I did not and therefore most of them did not germinate … I will be filing or clipping them in the future.
@shesamadgardener yeah I did 15 and only 3 have germinated but I do have I think 3 or 4 in my winter sowing jug too. I just didn't know if I should pinch them once they have a few set of leaves?
Making hanging baskets is so much fun. They all turned out so pretty. Would love to see an update on them later on
Definitely!!
