Actually Jon Cs Lewis actually stated that Jadis ( the real name of the White Witch) was partially based of the Snow Queen .
The Snow Queen was never evil. She is just the winter snow. She kills people by freezing them to death, but thta is because she is a natural force. She is no more evil then a tree or a cliff. The trolls were evil in the original story.
Finally, someone gets it
@@olgachafeeva2828 MatPat even made a theory about that, asking if the trolls in Frozen are evil as well.

Btw it was a show that was called
The Tales of Anderson
You know and i knew this whole story and i love it
how is she not evil when she basically kidnapped a little boy putting glass shards in his eyes and heart and also basically tricking him into following his sled so she can kidnap him and bring him back to her ice castle?...... Or the fact that she basically entrapped him at the ice castle and made him sit there and basically freeze to death playing some stupid game that is basically some reward system she thought he would never figure out? I do not see how none of that is considered evil-doing?
No matter how messed up the origin is...

I wonder if the rivier was the inspiration for Ahtohallan in Frozen 2.
Ahtohallan is said to have the answer of Elsas origin, and when she goes to seek the answer she ends up going too far to the point where she loses focus of the actual purpose and is trapped

10:10 OMG I was actually thinking about Edmund and the white witch while he was describing it.
10:11 so glad you made the connection too, I had the same thought.
The image of the snow queen pulling the boy along in her sled gives me strong The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe vibes. Don't know why that image at 9:40 just reminds me so much of the queen in that movie having another boy sit in her sled and use her coat to keep warm. (Been a while since I've seen The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe, I just remember the scene vaguely). Can't say if that is any kind of nod to this story, but it's certainly interesting.
Omg I thought of the same thing when he was talking about it

I remember that, pictured the scenes throughout his retelling! Any idea where one might find it now???
Najeebah it’s on Netflix :)
@@friednoodles4442 awesome. Thanks
the original is a powerful story. It's interesting in that it's a reverse damsel in distress. Instead of the guy saving the girl, the girl saves the guy. Now pay attention too to the symbolism. Something happens to corrupt the boy and turn him hostile. He ends up alone.. in an icy prison lost in the pursuit of reason and logic.. no connection. to anyone really. However though the girl's efforts she is able to pull him back.. this time instead of childhood friends.. lovers as the formation of the pair bond breaks the spell. Now examine the world around you and see how this sort of thing plays out.
It's also interesting to note that Kai has no idea that he is, in fact, in distress.
also interesting to note, badass women character here does not mean she looses her femininity do save him
Adventure Time?
The original story is so much better 😭 when I first heard this was based off the Snow Queen I was like no way!
I first read Andersen's story and then watched Narnia, thought, ain't this the snow queen???
I have never read "The Snow Queen," but now I have to. For some reason, I found it incredibly moving even when told second-hand.
It is a very moving and powerful story about unconditional love. It’s my favorite by Hans Christian Andersen. He had a talent for writing moving and complex stories with a message.
It has to be better than frozen I’m sure of it
I don’t know if you’ve come around to it yet, but if you haven’t, check out more of Andersen’s stories. Perhaps even literally from the library. ☺️
@@acemarvel1564 Frozen doesn't even have Kai at all.
It's a beautiful story, and it sadly says a lot about the current Disney staff that they threw 99% out claiming that it "wouldn't make good cinema" or something. And yes, it's better than Frozen. Though I don't consider that a particularly high hurdle (Frozen 2 made it much more palatable but it's still in my opinion the very definition of "overrated"). Regardless it is a beautiful work.
Oh so the hair brushing witch lady is like Tangled.
im really really really scared about it lady witch in tangland
Most progressive? Bruh how many times are ppl gonna say this is the first story about sisterly love etc etc? Are we just gonna forget Nani and Lilo? Ok so Nani didn’t rescue Lilo from the spaceship but she clearly raised a whole little girl by herself and taught both Lilo and Stitch that family and love is what you make of it
For real it's like I can only watch lilo and stitch once a year cause I can't stop crying it's so emotional and beautiful. It's my third favorite Disney movie.
i mean he said of the decade. 2010 to 2020 bro lilo and stitch was released in 2002 so
THANK YOU
I was mad they changed a whole damn story based on a song. They had Elsa ready to go as a villain and then they recorded Let It Go and went “let’s change the story” I think Let It Go would be much more powerful if she was a villain
@@terra_the_nightingale135 You mean Elsa?
When you were talking about the witch brushing Gerta's hair, that kind of reminded me of "Tangled" because of Mother Gothel brushing Rapunzel's hair. Granted, it's not a very big connection, but I did notice it.
MatPat did a Film Theory that Tangled and Frozen are connected.
It's Gerda, not Gerta
Another connection with that woman is that she always wanted a daughter so she kept gerta like mother Gothel. And she didn’t let her see roses. While mother Gothel doesn’t like when she paints or sees the flower that have her magic hair.
@@autobotstarscream765 Well not the original stories. Rapunzel is German and Snow Queen danish
The witch did have a magic garden and wanted to keep Gerda so maybe that’s the same witch. I am writing a book with different fairy tale characters. I may do that. The events of the Snow Queen already happened so I don’t know how to show the audience. Although in my story this witch knows the Snow Queen. Here the Snow Queen is also the evil queen from Snow White and the mirror the devil created is the same magic mirror the evil queen talks to.
The fact that there is a Russian animated movie about the Ice queen that has a really similar story to the original makes me a little bit concerned because I watched it as a child but it is a really well done movie which teaches about true friendship.
What exactly leads you to be concerned?
I watched that movie as well!
It was a masterpiece!
Some of the songs I sing to this day!
Ya , I also remembering watching it as small ... maybe 3 or 5
We had a copy of it, too. The original & English translations are both uploaded here. Snow Queen 1957
In danish the history is called “Isjomfruen” transliteration “The ice virgin”
Elsa in a nutshell
Isjomfruen is a different story. Snedronningen (the snowqueen) would be the original title :-)
So that's why she kidnapped that boy, oh no
No, it's "Snedronningen" which is translated as "The Snow Queen".
Snø dronningen på norsk 😂
I've heard a story where instead of Elsa and Ana being sisters, they weren't related at all. Ana was so broken hearted from being dumped by a man she loved, that she asked the Ice Queen to freeze her broken heart so she would never feel that pain again.
Melody Smith yeah, that was one of the original concepts
I kinda liked Elsa's design from that part of production, would have been nice to see her like that in the movie
cramer floro Yeah! That would've made for a more interesting movie.
That's sounds like the wicked witch in oz with James Franco
P. Candice Goddard I didn't say anything about homosexual love though??? It was just one of the concepts Disney made.
@@CandiceGoddard How does "Oh queen, freeze my broken heart so I do never feel pain again" correlate to "I'm gay" ? It doesnt.
As a German girl knowing the original story, I always thought the woman in Narnia was the snow queen xD
Me too
Me three
Me four and I’m American. I was raised with Hans Christian Anderson fairytales though.
So much borrowed from Norse mythology as well
I'm not sure if Jadis, Queen of Narnia is THIS Snow Queen, but it would make a lot of sense.
9:40 this reminds me of Narnia
literally a minute later
Him: doesn't this remind you of Narnia
LOL
There's also a movie called "The Snow Queen" that was released in 2005! It basically tells the tale exactly how you did! I watched it as a little kid, but I never realized how true it was to the original (or that there even was an original haha). I love your videos! Keep doing a great job :D
I think I have Snow Queen 3
I actually kinda wish that Disney did the original version. I really liked this story!
Star Girl same!
On netflix (at least in denmark) they have a bad version cartoon of his most popular fairy tales, it is also on CZcams with some commercial.
The bad version is the animation, not the story, that is held true to the original 😉
Star Girl There's an animated film done by Russia decades ago. It's really good but has 2 different English dubs.
Thank you guys for giving me this information! I really appreciate it >w
*comes back after a couple of YEARS or MONTHS says hey to grandma and sits down like nothing happened*

Seems legit
I love how he narrates movies, so quick yet so accurate 👌
The thing I wanna know how Satan reacted when the trolls told him what happened with the mirror.
If, if he finds out. If? If is good....
@X Man I'm quoting a line from Hercules. When Pain and Panic fail to kill Hercules as a baby
In the Sailor Moon manga and anime series, Queen Nehelenia shatters a Dream Mirror into billions of shards creating an army of mirror and ice minons against Sailor Moon. One of these shards get into Mamaru's eye making him dispise Usagi and fall for the Queen instead. Usagi goes through an ice filled and dream world to face the Queen in a final battle to save Mamaru. Usagi's tears of love help him desolve the shard and by doing so breaks the Queen's other spells on the world.
Tara Dobbs love that show.
I literally jus made that comment before I saw this lol
YESSS I love Sailor Moon
Roses are also a big part of it. In one episode as Usagi is trying to save Mamoru, she falls under an enchantment that is only broken once she sees one of Jupiter's rose earrings. The fact that roses are Mamoru's weapon of choice in the anime made it perfect for a Snow Queen reference.
@@Chiiminako and then there's the Snow Queen in Sailor Moon R movie or was it S?
What’s interesting is that the Snow Queen isn’t evil. None of the characters in the Andersen version are. They all have their own motives and are perhaps a bit selfish or short sighted, but they are not evil. Same with The Little Mermaid.
Isn't the devil troll evil though?
the snow queen legit kidnapped a child what do u mean shes not evil
She is evil, just not as evil as a lot of other villains in fairytales. She is a good example of a psychopath in that she is completely apathetic. She kidnaps Kai, but allows him to escape with Gerda when she comes to rescue him. The Snow Queen is a part of the fair folk/fae and unlike Disney depictions, the fae are actually sociopathic in nature.
@@unknownstranger6875 interesting. Another comment on here said she’s the winter snow itself and killed ppl by freezing them to death.., but not less “evil” than a tree or a cliff
The most evil yuki onna for the moment.
"Hits her in the dome."

“Anna comes out of left field to intercept it with her new ice bod”
Actually Jon Cs Lewis stated that the White Witch was partially based of the Snow Queen.
@@CandiceGoddard that's why I said she is partially based off the snow queen it's only a small part of the character since there are other factors to her characters as well.
Good to know
@@CandiceGoddard The White Witch was also said to be a descendant of Lilith the Demon Queen, who was Adam's first wife before Eve in Jewish mythology.
I love how you just said, Anna punches him in the face, then summer returns, with a straight face! 😂😂
I've read somewhere the witch with the flower garden represented the Spring (and therefore she wanted to keep Gerda for herself, because she was in spring of her years) the princess and the prince represented Summer (as they were about to mary and begin the summer of their lives) and the old bandit gran represented the Autumn ( when everything and everyone is prepairing for a winter, trying to get most from the land while they still can). And the snow queen is the Winter of course.
It struck me how when he was talking about the witch with the flower it reminded me of mother Gothel and Rapunzel.
Ok so basically Elsa keeps almost killing Anna
It's no coincidence on the Narnia similarity, the Snow Queen did indeed inspire Lewis' White Witch.
The Snow Queen tale is wayyy better than frozen
I completely agree
I want see that in a movie
@@trublacking8572 It wouldn't be as good as reading it. If it was a movie it would be way too long.
@@plipplop1769 There is a Soviet animated movie The Snow Queen, almost all the events fit there, and it was not so long.
tyree Jackson There is a film version I believe, I’m sure I remember watching it when I was younger!
I love how no one noticed how slick the prince was, like 'Oh my, i'm so sorry you lost your friend, you must be so scared and confused! You can sleep in MY bed while my fiance sleeps a few feet away in a separate bed.'
The original story says that the prince "got up" and let Gerda sleep in his bed, indicating that he was being a gentleman rather than creepy.
At least he got out of the bed first, Lol. That’s nothing compared to the original Snow White, where the Prince fell in love with and planned to marry a corpse, until his servants got clumsy and dropped her coffin, knocking the poisoned apple chunk from her throat. Or one of the original versions of Sleeping Beauty, where what woke her was labour pains long after the prince married her, took her to his room, and knocked her unconscious body up. Or how the Little Mermaid saw her betrayer of a prince sleeping with another woman, but she still loved him so much she let herself fall to the curse, and became seafoam, to forevermore lap at the bow of his ships.
There’s even a fairy tale where a girl who can’t talk or show emotion for seven years (as part of a spell to free her brothers, turned into birds), is married to a prince who literally just spots her on an outing, picks her up and rides off with her. Every night after the girl gives birth, the evil stepmother brutally kills her baby and spreads some of the blood around the girl’s mouth to convince the prince his wife is eating her own babies. Since she can’t speak to tell the truth, or even look upset, the prince eventually believes the lie (many dead babies later) and the girl is sent to execution, after time in the dungeon. This just happens to be on the last day of the seven years, and as the axe is raised her bird brothers swoop down and into the shirts she’d been weaving all those seven years. The stepmother is revealed and executed instead, and the girl lives on with her prince. Of course, that’s still too happy an ending, so the tale just had to leave one of the sleeves incomplete, so one of her seven bros was left permanently with one bird wing instead of an arm for the rest of his life.
The prince giving Gerda his bed for the night is surprisingly wholesome.
@@kiddfaith4397 Love it! Thank you for that! :D
@@kiddfaith4397 eyo, I know the one about the bird brothers. It's called seven brothers or something where I live and there is a kiddies version (without the baby killing) in my language. The girl was kidnapped by a sorcerer. Honestly can't remember everything, but damn the original is so dark
I did notice that. I was like… isn’t your fiancé like right there?
There’s a movie called snow queen that is almost exactly like this
As a child, someone gave me a truly, gorgeously illustrated book about the snow queen. And it is the exact telling that you have given here. The pictures were so rich and detailed. I felt as if I were on the journey with both Gerda and Kai. I would stare at the pictures for hours on end. Really caused me to love the story. I am very fortunate to still have the book as well as the memories. Thanks for the reminder. ❤

AND THE PROTAGONIST’S NAME WAS GERDA RIGHT? AND KAI WAS HER BROTHER WHO GOT TURNED INTO ICE BY THE SNOW QUEEN?

Did anyone else immediately think of Tangled when he mentioned the witch brushing Gerda's hair? I was reminded of the scene at the beginning where Mother Gothel is raising Rapunzel and they sit in front of the fire while Mother Gothel brushes Rapunzel's hair and Rapunzel sings. It's similar to when the witch is brushing Gerda's hair and making her forget everything, or maybe that's just me.
MatPat did a Film Theory that Tangled and Frozen are connected.

This storyline made so much more sense than Frozen even with talking roses and a river that could think. What a powerful story.
Yeah you ain't lying 🤥 No Bull 🐂 Shyt 💩 this story is fking Deep bro
You should get into "Der Struwwelpeter" and all the stories the book holds... It contains boys being bitten by dogs, nearly drowning, thumbs being chopped off, a girl burning to death whilst her cats estinguish the fire with their tears... Yea it's pretty neat.
Greetings from all your German fans who are used to these stories :) If you're interested I'd like to help you with translations and stuff
Oh wow I think I remember what you are talking about. I had a friend when I was little, whose Dad was in the Army like mine and her mom was from Germany and they had that book. I vaguely remember being very horrified by the stories but again I was very little and not used to that kind of story telling. My dad was though because he was born in Germany and raised there for a while.
German stories are weird. But to be fair we (Hungarians) are singing about snails set on fire so maybe I should shut up :) .
Yeah those stories are great and really messed up, I bet Jon would like them. Would love to see a video about this. Don't forget the boy who refused to eat his soup and just starved

Frozen, The Frog Princess and Tangled are some of Disney's best works.
The mirror part is SO reminiscent of Nehelania in season 5 of the 90s Sailor Moon anime with Mamoru

Never got why the movie was so popular. It wasn't bad, but I didn't think it was some masterpiece, I actually found "average" ones like Princess and the Frog better.

I was kinda surprised when you said that you haven't read the original story before. In Poland we read it in the elementary school during literature classes
Anita Tereszczuk as an American I can say it’s not that shocking. They teach our history twisted to how they want us to see it. Most of our assigned readings are American. We get very little exposure in our school system to any other cultures

I loved the telling of this story that you did. My niece & I watched this together & she finds your voice warm & soothing. We like hearing the original stories that influence modern day stories & Disney movies. So we watch your videos every other night. Some of them we've listened to a handful of times. Some nights she wants me to read to her, especially if I've bought her a new book. But some nights I'll ask, "What story do you want uncle to read you tonight?" & she'll say, "Solo. Solo. Solo" lmbo. She's 3 but she's brilliant & understands a great deal. My girlfriend & her son likes watching your videos as well. We love Disney movies & hearing the stories those movies take inspiration & form from is so interesting. So on behalf of my lil kiddos, the love of my life & myself, we all say thanx Jon.
It was my favorite tale from my childhood. Gerda was a girl just like me and she was an active hero of the story. I liked her. She took effort to save her beloved Kai, she had balls. She wasn't only a princess waiting to be saved. She was a savior. Also the whole story is so magical and mysterious. I still read it from time to time.
Whenever I tell someone my last name now they say, "Oh! Like Frozen!"
Kim Arundale Oh! Like frozen!

That was the most beautiful violent fairy tale I've ever heard.
This is like once upon a time season four. The plot is that an ice queen comes to town and casts a spell from a evil mirror that she brakes and takes the shards, blows them in the wind and they get in people eyes that makes everything they see the bad side and the town goes crazy.
Legendary Disney animator and Imagineer Marc Davis wanted to make a darkride based on the Snow Queen for Disneyland. Sadly, the idea never got greenlit, but then concept art for the proposed attraction is amazing.
Ah, I actually loved the movie Snow Queen (2002). Didn't know it was so close to the original story.
Yes! I remember that now. Very close.

I love how the seasons play symbolic roles in this story. The story went full circle and the snow queen was winter.
1. Old witch and Gerda inspired tangled.
2. The evil queen from Snow White have the same mirror.
3. Helpful crow's fiance is maleficent.
4. And all of the gerda's adventures were like of Alice's.
5. Bearded woman was like witch from Hansel and Gretel.
Some people might take your comment seriously - so I'm gonna say that is all BS sorry lol
Sailormoon did a very good homage /adaptation of the snow Queen. With the “hearts in ice” movie.

I love her too, I've heard this story more times but she's always my favorite
I remember in 1st grade the teachers every year put on a Christmas play for all the kids. When we heard about a Snow queen we all got excited thinking it was going to be the new movie frozen but instead it was the snow queen. We were all pretty disappointed and honestly a lot of the younger kids didn’t even understand the story
In the version I knew Kai was Gerda’s brother
Ok But has no one ever seen the movie the snow queen it literally almost had everything to T of the Original story!!! I used to have it on vhs I found it at a thrift store
Shy Rand was it the 1957 soviet version with that weird Christmas party intro scene?
@@kylab8395 Was wondering the same with everyone talking about the Snow Queen Movie :D
no, it’s actually a 2002 movie which you can find when you google the snow queen 2002 haha
Yeaaaahh!!! That's the one I grew up with, too (1957 version)! Way better story than Frozen.
I have
..but I mean it's a bit different from frozen
That picture of the snow queen holding on to that kid is down right creepy . When I look at it the snow queens eyes just pierces through my soul
I remember, any time I came across this story growing up, I always felt just a little bit sorry for that witch that wasn't evil, and who wanted a daughter. Yeah keeping Gerda and removing her memory is not how you should do these things, but she was not a bad woman; she wanted a child to love.
Quite different from the Snow Queen. The version I saw on tape had the Snow Queen own that mirror, who always told her it loved her, until one day she accused it of lying and hurled it to the floor (it was a hand mirror). Those were the shards that blew all over the world.
I had some idea that the Snow Queen didn't know what love truly was, yet felt some sort of longing for another she couldn't explain to herself. Obviously a magic mirror just made her realize what it wasn't. Kidnapping Kai and those shards embedded in his eyes and heart was her way of bringing a person she wanted to her world. You are not supposed to do this any more than the witch did. But with a Snow Queen who does not know what love is, he became more a favored palace object.
“When she accidentally hits her in the dome” 😭 this took me out
There is an 'old' Russian cartoon, beautifully made based on the actual story written by Hans😊 one of my favs!
Yeah, isn't that actually old cartoon? Why did you put in quote?
What is it called?
@@yikesgina Снежная королева :) you can copy and paste and I'm sure you'll easily find it on YT :)
@@VictoriaBC610 thank you!! :)
@@yikesgina you're welcome :)
Jon, you really outdid yourself this time, I loved it!
Seriously! I was very impressed
C.S. Lewis took some of this story and others he researched for the Narnia series, the two kids here are used as a model for the kids in "The Magicians Nephew, and the Snow Queen as he said is a model for the White Witch (Janis is her actual name in the books)
This is really nice to hear, I grew up with this story and it was my favourite, but I lost the storybook. It's great to hear it again!
I didn't care for Frozen, but I loved that Soviet Snow Queen movie from the 50s
Saw it! Very well made for that year
Try the live action with chelsea hobbs. Its amazing. Way better than frozen.
I remember that one. Had it on VHS!
My favourite movie when I was a child. Every year it was on German TV and every year I watched it. ❤️💚💙💜
Jon! You made me read so many more books these days and that is awesome.
Do you think Andersen’s Snow Queen short stories are a lot more interesting than Frozen like I did?
One note, I think if it is possible, it’ll be cool if you do a special series of the writers’ Messed-up Origins. Because I think it is quite interesting how almost every “original version” writers have kind of weird background (Hans Christian Andersen included) - I think as your fans love all the messed-up stories a deep dive into the psychological aspects of the Disney Classics inspirations (the writers of these stories) could be interesting
🖖💙
Totally agree, I always love to hear about the writers origins.
I agree
Thanks for telling this story. I had forgotten about it my mom used to read it to me.
I think that the robber girl and Gerta story is told again in the tales of Shannarah except that the robber girl falls in love with the princesses friend.
Reading books are demonic, strong permanent confirmed legitimate fact, you brainwashed delusional clueless dumbfuck.
I agree. Read "Shoes of Fate" of anderson. It's awesome.
While you were talking I kept remembering a cartoon and a movie I saw of Ice Queen when I was a kid. I don't remember which one showed all of this but I'm glad I saw them.
At my ballet studio, we don’t have enough dancers to do the full Nutcracker. Our solution was to cut some music (and entire battle scene) out, and change the story.
In our story, Clara gets a storybook instead of a nutcracker. After the big holiday party, Clara stays up reading her new storybook, and ends up interacting with/watching fairytales.
In the usual version of the Nutcracker, the snow scene is basically Clara going from her house to the land of sweets. In our version, we based the snow scene off of the Snow Queen story.
Our snow scene goes something like this:
2 sisters are playing in the snow, they meet Clara, then play in more snow. The Snow Queen comes out, and decides to kidnap the younger sister. The Snow Queen turns what was fun snowflakes into a blizzard, separates the sisters, and traps the younger sister in the center of the blizzard. Clara comes back, shows the older sister the rescue plan written in her book, and proceeds to melt the Snow Queen and snowflakes. The sister reunite, thank Clara, and leave. The Snow Queen and snowflakes reform, and decide to target the sisters another day, and Clara ends the scene looking at her book with anticipation of what’s coming next.
In our most recent show (Dec 2019), I played the younger sister. It was fun getting kidnapped by my friends. Also the older sister was played by one of my best friends, so our relationship (hopefully) looked more realistic.
Hey Jon, welcome back! 2019 is gonna be a good year.
you bet it is. Let's make it awesome.
The original HCA tale seems gorgeous to me.
Especially the peaceful end
Did anyone else notice how the story of the mirror shattering affects others in their eyes and hearts? ABC Family did an entire “FROZEN” themed season on their show “Once Upon a Time”. It’s interesting that they actually held somewhat true to the source material…
Epic stuff! Thank you!
Hey Jon I love your video and I love your missed up origins

Yeah, I love his... missed..... up origin series
ERMA IS THE NAME OF THE SNOW QUEEN. She was cursed from what i remembered. It was an amazing story and movie.👍👍👍
Do tell more, where did you get this info? The Snow Queen has been one of my favorite fairy tales since I was a teen.
@@unknownstranger6875 you can find the movie online
There is a Russian movie called The Snow Queen that is very similar with characters Gerda and Kai, I don't remember if the plot is similar because it's been many years since I last watched it, but they also created 2 follow up movies to that movie.
There are several russian ones. Animation as well as real life. I like the 1967 real-life the best
Your channel is my favorite. I always learn something new which is always a good thing.
This reminds me so much of the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. Pretty much of all of Narnia really. Narnia goes through its own struggles. The eyes remind me of how the eyes are taken in the movie Coraline. Once the eyes are taken the person is changed. The Winter Warlock had his icy heart melted when he was given his first gift, a choo choo.
My only question is why did the Ice Queen kidnap Kai? I mean she didn’t kill him or torture him just kept him. Was she lonely and in need of company? 🤔
Otakulover Forever she took him because she was trying to reconstruct the mirror and Kai has two of the shards to complete the mirror. If you read the book there’s also some evidence that she grew a little attached to the boy, and probably wanted to keep him like the witch wanted to do with Gurda.
Why she was trying to reconstruct the mirror is beyond me, maybe she wanted it for herself. But that was her motivation for taking Kai.
Thanks for clearing that.
Otakulover Forever you’re welcome
This is the first time i hear about Snow Queen's original story, thank you Jon🥰🥰🥰
i love all your videos btw!
You're doing a magnificent job, dude. Your channel is the best!
That was one of the least messed up origins and honestly a really beautiful story!Great job!
bruh, this was a masterclass. Props on always having such dedication to covering your bases with research- it's wonderful.
yesssssss! the story TOTALLY reminded me of Narnia. I am basically in love with The Cronicals Of Narnia
