i suggest you keep the anvil, good quality anvils are damn hard to find and pricey as hell, and if you are interested in metalworking then you should keep it.
dont know if you guys gives a damn but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my brother recently :)
Everything looks BRAND NEW!
Digging the videos. I can't wait until we move and I can make my shop/garage area legit. I'm finally going to focus on doing things right and totally organized. I've gotten a lot of great ideas already watching your videos.
Been awaiting anxiously for this tour! I'm very envious of your shop, the best shop I've seen. My favourite part is the french cleat wall!
I don't always watch shop tours, but when I do, I prefer Johnny Brooke's.
festool tools are awesome. worked in a shop where we used a plunging saw with a clamp on track and that thing cut so cleanly you didn't even have to sand it. just the corners as those were super sharp.
That they are!
Great looking shop Johnny! I need to go back and watch your old shop tour and see what all has changed. Cant wait for the sharpening video!
It's well equipped workshop and looks beautiful. Very happy for you.đ
I love shop tours. I was backwards on how I thought your shop was initially set up. Great space and use of it Johnny!
Thanks a lot man!
I hope your garage is insured, dude. And you have some serious security features outside that garage door.
my parents ran a business for over 30 years, ive taken over at the start of this year and always used pvc piping for our dust extractions. Never ever had an issue.
Love your set up great little work shop! And your work is awesome
Thanks Adam!
Love shop tours!
Thanks manâ
Awesome! When I'm older, I will have a shop full of amazing stationary tools like Johnny's... :)
Hah!
Seriously amazing space Johnny - you're living the dream, I'd love to have a shop that size haha, maybe one day!!
Seriously though, you've laid everything out really well, sounds like you've got a great workshop flow and your tool collection is phenomenal too! I'm definitely envious of the little perks higher end tools bring, like the digital calibration on the woodpecker pillar drill and welding cart hooks - I can really imagine small things like that removing a whole lot of frustration and making woodworker a lot funner!
The one thing I was wondering is if you've got a floor plan of the space available anywhere? As great as shop tours are I'd love to be able to see everything clearly laid out :)
JMakes You make some pretty cool stuff on your shop too even without those perksâŠđ
Thank you pixelized, although having perks would definitely remove a lot of frustration and improve efficiency haha! There is only so long you can spend nocking your fence into square and shimming your crosscut jig!
JMakes Sure, even though there's this notion that it's not the tools that matter but what one does with them, having the right tools does help, opens possibilities and improves speed and efficiencyâŠ
Any idea how many sqft that is? Looks huge.
Thanks for the tour Johnny! đđ
Thanks for the inside look. I like how you've got everything setup. I know way back, you were wondering just what you would do with that narrow hallway in your shop. It looks like it has become the perfect spot for those things you have in there.
For sure, the hallway has ended up being a really nice spaceb
I really need to organize my shopđ. Thanks for the tour and motivation.
Thanks! Organizing is surprisingly satisfying for sure.
Now that's a Really Nice setup you got there sir!!
Shop is super cool, keep up the great work!!
Love watching what other people have put together! Very nice job
Sweet Shop Tour Johnny!!!
Thanks Jake!
Yes love xhat you do and keep it up nice how everthing is in place where it needs to be
Appreciate it!
Nice workshop and you have some of my favorite equipments.. just bought the sawstop 3hp. working on turning my two car garage into a small workshop. Really like your outfeed/assembly table.. nice video..
You have an amazing shop. I picked up a few great ideas that will help as I reorganize my shop. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
Awesome tour! I saw comments about people not being able to follow along with your videos because they can't afford the equipment you have. I noticed you said that many projects you do can be done with common tools. Maybe you could do videos showing one way to do it with your expensive equipment, and then another way using common tools/equipment--sort of like a woodworking version to ChrisFix's youtube channel. This way more people will be able to follow along, allowing you to reach more of an audience. It's more work for you though, so it just depends on how much you value those members of your audience. Most people who have invested in expensive equipment probably know more than a thing or two already đ€·ââïž
Thanks! I definitely do that kind of thing from time to time, and I also try to intermix projects that are simpler overall (the recent planter boxes and patio cooler come to mind). I definitely want beginners to feel inspired by my videos!
Ehhh people with expensive tools doing beginner projects? No offense but I find that hypocritical. Sue me
Loved the tour. Great placement on your work areas
Thanks Frank!
Love your shop đ
Beautiful shop man.
Thanks!
Great shop, Johnny. Wish I had that much space. Time to upgrade! Quick question, what are the dimensions/square footage of the main area? Is it a three car garage? Really big two car garage? Thanks, man, keep up the great videos!
Awesome shop man !!! Love it !
Love your shop and your channel
Very nice shop. Congratulations man
I love your videos Johnny. Keepâem coming
Thanks Clyde!
loving all your videos !
Thanks Charlie!
Nice bro
Thanks!
Haha loving the johnnysquat đđđ
Hah, thanks!
Thank you for the tour. Experiencing total shop/tool envy...it will pass. Looking forward to your continued productions.
Thanks Rob!
Love the shop tour. I see you have moved over to where your wife used to park in garage. Looking forward to some more great builds and videos. Keep up the good work man.
Thanks Chris! Sheâs still parking there most of the time but this Guild table is taking up a ton of space. Sheâll be back in the garage when I deliver the table to my parents.
Great stuff, like to see an orderly shop. Good luck with that LG air conditioner, EVERYONE I know that owned one had it go bad on them (about nine people, my self included)
Holy crap dude!! That shop is a beautiful thing! Man I wish I had the space and the money for all of that!
Thanks a lot!
Amazing sir
Thatâs quite a shop you got there. Good stuff man.
Thanks!
Great shop tour and awesome flow!! Mad jelly of the milling triangle, but benchtop stuff is all I need/can afford for now :D
Thanks man! I love my milling triangle, hah.
You are very expressive with your hands.
Finally I find another left handed woodworker like myself.
Awsome shop tour I've been wanting to see a new tour i like how your expanding we like always can't wait for that next video. Where can I buy a shirt at
Thanks a lot Bryan! Iâve got shirts on my website, craftedworkshop.com/store
I wish we had basements in Florida so I could have basement envy. Super cool setup and canât wait to see your new shop get finished. I donât have a CZcams channel but I need to send you a sticker for my makerspace that I help run
Thanks a lot!
Dream workshop!
My favorite, most drool worthy tool was that mini split. TN is so hot...in the bad way!
Yea it has been real nice this summer!
Nice shop
Nice work!
Thanks!
Your shop has changed a ton since last tour, looks incredible especially the Powermatic Gold color nicely done. I have the perfect toolbox for ya Snap-on 6â yâall and about 5â wide lol. Take it easy.
Hah, nice Thom! Thanks man.
You have every tool I can imagine! đ€€
Definitely lucky to have the shop I have!
Love the shop! Iâm not going to lie Iâm a little jealous. My shop consists of 4 tools but you got to start somewhere. đ Having a good AC unit in this crazy NC summer heat. YES !!! Very impressive to see how far you have come. You have worked very hard to get to where you are now. I canât wait till your little one is in there running around and learning from his dad.
Thanks Chrystal! Itâs definitely been a journey but I love the way my shop has turned out. The AC is AMAZING! đ
I have a split unit in my back shop room 10x20 and it does great. I mainly use it for Winter though. I was told it would cool both rooms (other is 20x20), but it stays pretty decent most days. I'm in Raleigh.
Great shopđđŒđ§đ·đ§đ·đ§đ·
You have my dream shop!
Thanks, it's my dream shop too!
pvc pipes ftw!
Love it!
Crafted Workshop I have the same
Such a nice playground đđ»
Thanks!
Dream job and dream workshop. U have both
Oh man. I just want to go out to my shop and move stuff around now. I see I made the cut on the sticker wall
Hah, yea man!
Was that fence from Fastcap? I can't find it. I think if you put a link in you can make some money for the purchase.
Bela marcenaria muito bem montada; aqui nós trabalhamos em garagem pois as coisas são muito caras; parabéns. Bene; Brasil; Sao Paulo; Santo Andre. abraço
Great equipment! I am far more budget than you are, but your stuff is certainly drool worthy!
Thanks Tim!
Wow great workshop , here in ukđŹđ§ can only dream of workshop of that size, your timber storeroom is twice the size of my shed
Thanks a lot!
Loved the shop man its awesome. Can you give me some sort of advise what tools i need to buy first being an aspirant woodworker? Thank man and more power to you..
i like yr shop setup
IS THERE ANYTHING YOU DON'T HAVE!!!!! HOLY COW, WHAT KIND OF MONEY DID ALL THAT COST????????
That planer alone is $4500 Lol, most of the time i watch these woodwork videos and think, how the heck is this DIY vid for the average joe... the average joe only has at best hand tools, a cordless drill and maybe a mitre saw or jig saw.. anyhoo woodworking on this level aint cheap
Most of it was given to him, like most of the popular channels. I'm assuming all the Powermatic and Rockler at least.
Huge collection of woodworking plans: www.WoodPlanner. xyz
. .
I guarantee this dude doesn't earn his income from clientele. Guys like this earn a living filming themselves for CZcams. All the Festool snobs are inherently rich. Look at the size of the garage, I bet his house is 5000+ sq. ft. I don't have time to make cute assembly benches or run overhead dust collection for my random orbit sander. I have clients waiting for custom product. These types are looking for fanboys, likes and views on social media. I prefer to work with wood, and enjoy the mundane sanding as well as the complex challenges. If I had someone to look after the filming and editing without interfering with my work, you'd see a real working channel, not a fantasy one.
Fuck all this state of the art machinery show me your hand planes and chisels.
Great tour. Rude Q but did you buy all that stuff from your pocket or have you had some gift kit from manufacturers (powermatic stuff acknowledged)?
That's a big bandsaw :) so jealous:)
Thanks, I love it!
What an awesome shop! I work with mostly table top Hobby equipment. Nothing industrial-size other than my 12 inch compound miter saw. I truly would love to be able to make my own 360 degree small pin vise. However I have no idea how to make it in four sections where it meets in the middle. I would love to have any thoughts if you can. Many blessings to you and your Channel!
Thanks Tracy! Not sure on the vise, never made one.
The PVC Collector shouldn't be an issue in my opinion. now I would be concerned if you were using it as an airline between an air compressor and different tools. The suction of the collector is one thing but when you start putting 120psi+ through it that's when it starts to explode.
For sure!
I think that he's talking about a myth that PVC use as a dust collector piping system will generate enough static electricity to create a spark that sets of a fire
I've heard of that before, adding a ground wire to the PVC would solve the static issue if someone was worried about it
Yup!
Yes i agree about adding the copper grounding wire just run it though the pipe. We have that on most of the machines that my father in-law built carts for and added the dust collection.
Iâm wanting to dabble in blacksmithing but wonât be Asheville until November. Would love to scoop them though.
I'm interested in getting started in wood working. What are some of the basic tools I should first purchase? I am apprentice electrician and have some hand tools, an impact driver, and a normal drill.
Whatâs the deal with drum sanders?? Iâve always overlooked them if you have a planer already, I donât see the point in them personally is there something sick about them that im not gettin??
If I need something really precise in thickness I oversize it a bit on the planer then dial it in on the drum sander. Think crib slats or making a lattice. You also then get to skip straight to finer grits when sanding.
Great work - come to the UK and join our team đŹđ§
Very nice upgrades and set up for smooth work flow like that definitely helps. Keep up the good work you definitely deserve everything you have worked hard to get. I am also interested in getting a forge I was about to make one but let me know about how much. I'm not far from Asheville.
Thanks man! If youâre interested, shoot me an email.
I've come across some great bessey quick clamps which are designed for welding tables but you can also buy an attachment to go on bottom so they can be used in the dog holes on your workbench
Nice!
Hope it helped if you didn't already know about them
Well let me first say you have a beautiful workshop very well organized. I am wondering as you like powermatic quite a bit, can you tell me more about your bandsaw. I am in the market for one, but just not sure on brands. I am wiling to spend the money for a good quality one. Also I would like to know the size of your basement.. thanks very much.
Now im depressed, lol awesome shop
Amazing shop Johnny! Definitely jealous! How many square feet? It looks huge
Thanks Kevin! Itâs about 1200 sq ft all in, but I do have to leave room for my wife to park on the metalworking side.
You can use both 110 and 220 electricity in US?
Thanks for taking the time to post this tour Johnny, admire your organization very helpful as I work on plans to set up my first shop. Question if I may... did you consider tying your sander dust collection into your shop-wide overhead piping to eliminate the need for the 2nd Festool dust collector? And by extension, same question for your Kapex? I have similar tools and was hoping to be able to connect these to the shop-wide central dust collector. It's just not obvious to me yet what the drawbacks/challenges to doing this would be?
Thanks Nelson! I wouldnât tie my mobile tools to the main DC as itâd be a pain when Iâm working in different areas of the shop. Being able to roll around the dust extractor is great. I did have the Kapex tied in but it didnât work that great with the big cabinet opening. I plan to fix that and add it back to the main dust collector soon.
So many toys! đČ It kind of explains why you'd be reluctant to forgo your precious power toolsâŠđ
đ
I am in the process of setting up my woodshop. Originally I was slated to get the same Powermatic jointer that you show in this video except due to it coming as one piece, we could not figure out a way to get it into my basement. A 700lb machine that's 84" x 25 could not make it around 4'x4' landing leading into the basement. So instead we are going with the 60HH 8" jointer. The primary difference is one is dovetail adjustment vs parallelogram on the one you have. Have you used a non parallelogram jointer and would I be better off to locate another company that has a helical head AND parallel, or do you think the 60HH 8" jointer will be just fine? Just curious on your perspective. BTW your shop looks awesome and I want to build the outfeed table as one of my first projects.
I think you'd be fine with the 60HH. My previous jointer, an old Delta, used a dovetail mechanism and I never had an issue keeping the beds parallel. Thanks, good luck on your shop!
Great video.đđŒ what side is your shop?
shout out for the burial sticker!
My fav!
Nyc brođđ
What kind of camera you used very nice
Really like your shop and seeing the evolution of your space. Question on your bandsaw - how are the PM guides better than the Laguna guides? Just preference or something more? Thanks!
The PM guides are a lot more secure than the Laguna. They were always getting bumped out of alignment. I love them!
Great video mate. I have a question, how much did that belt grinder cost?
Thanks
Thanks! Itâs the Pheer PH-454, theyâre $1,500.
I have an X-Carve and I like the table you have it, on it's awesome. It looks very sturdy and I like the monitor/laptop stand mounted on it. Where can I get that same table and mount for the monitor/laptop?
The table is from Rockler, itâs their 48â by 60â shop stand. www.rockler.com/rockler-customizable-shop-stand
Hey Crafted, what is your most used machine for wood working because Iâm just starting off and donât have any tools or machines? And what is a good project to start with? @CraftedWorkshop
I would watch my 5 tools for beginners video: czcams.com/video/o4ijHIRaGXc/video.html
Please send the forge and anvil to South Africa. I will buy it and love it. But i think its already long gone. Great shop man enjoy.
Thanks, and I'd imagine shipping would be a killer there!
What is the wheelbase model # for the Powermatic BS 1500?
Nice shop! "Alex the camera man"?
Nah, Bobo! And thanks!
Hey Johnny enjoyed the tour a ton. Hey what is the largest object you can fit into your laser cutter and what thickness
Thanks! The bed is 12 x 20 I believe and you can cut about ÂŒâ thick material depending on what it is.
This would be a dream come true. Lefty here too1
Love my shop!
Shop looks incredible man. Any possibility you could be a little more clear on who you're sponsored by/have been sent free stuff by? Not really a complaint, it's just unclear what you endorse because you like and what you endorse because you're paid. cheers!
I do think you should do a video on making money doing woodworking because I am really trying hard to and I am not having any luck. Please consider, I would like how you can afford all of those nice tools!
OMG, you have a fantastic shop, man. Congrats :-) .............. L.ZACCARO
Thanks!
