    Thank you, sir. I'm always learning from your channel. I'm 64 years old, a retired Armored Truck driver/cash courier in the 24 years that I worked in that profession my 12 first years I carried a model 10 S.W. on my right hip and a Model.36 with a bobbed hammer with Tgrips and rubber bands on the butt of J frame m.36. I knew I wasn't fast enough to reload if the situation ever arose. Thanks to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ it never did! Thanks again because now a days I carry a Model 638-3 in the waistband. I'm always learning something here.

    Your last group was pretty darn good! My M&P340 is effectively the same as your 642 except that it is in the 442 color and has a nicer front sight. That and the 357 Magnum chambering which is probably not at all practical IRL. I've given up on the HKS speed loaders due to their bulk. Those Zeta clips are something I really want to try. I carry a single speed strip for reloading. It's nice and flat. My entire EDC firearm philosophy is one of simplicity and carry comfort for what Paul Harrell calls, "program compliance". I'm fully aware of the limitations I'm putting on myself. But I have full faith and confidence in a five shot J-Frame to do its part if I do mine. I actually consider a reload an after action event (in case more trouble comes looking). In the very unlikely situation I need to shoot, I'm hoping that in addition to connecting, my ammo choice makes for a strong deterrent in a multiple attacker scenario. WWB Q4204. Very hard to find these days. But it says "Personal Protection" on the box and has delivered impressive results on gel from a 2" barrel.

    great shooting and great lesson, again. i have never tried those zeta 6 speedloaders. i have a few 5 shot and 6 shot hks ones and some pouches for them, but i subscribe to the ny reload philosophy. if my 5 shots of 357 don't work, the snubbie is pocketed and the back-up 40, 45, or nine is pulled. a lot quicker and less bumbling when stressed. if i don't have a speed loader i will just drop the snubbie.. if i do , the auto will give me time, hopefully, to get hidden where i can use the speedloader and throw in another mag. the last ditch is the lcp2 in the pocket. i trust myself to do a mag change under stress than to use a speedloader. thank you for the lesson.

    NICE vid Greg...I'll add that I u can only carry 1 snub and not two, then a small fixed blade even a TDI would be good. If you can break contact and get behind cover and reload just to make sure they aren't coming back great....if still down in the dirt after 5 ot 6 then a straight blade....or even a good folder could be invaluable especially against a determined Attacker before they deseguanate

    • @LionquestFitness
      @LionquestFitness  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Normally I advise cover and retreat, but I'd had a request on speedloaders specifically. A blade could be a viable self defense tool, but I prefer a yawara or a small flashlight that could be used like a yawara as a secondary.

    Excellent video presentation with solid, no fluff information. I hadn’t seen a demo of the Zeta 6 yet but from your experience, looked like they work. My only question is if you experienced any rounds pulled back out when pulling the tab. I’ve used Bianchi speed strips and had that happen on occasion when speeding up my times.
    I would encourage anyone with no revolver experience who is dead set on carrying one to follow your channel. I’ve been assisting with CHL classes for the past few months and we don’t get a lot of time to do more than one demonstration on loading a particular system. Pretty much everyone who has claimed to have a considerable amount of experience with the wheel gun turns out to not be as experienced as they claimed. I grew up shooting revolvers before being formally trained on them in my first academy, and even if I forget the acceptable variations of techniques that have come about or get a little rusty in my dexterity, I still don’t forget the basics. Unfortunately some were never trained on the basics and don’t want to invest in learning. Maybe it’s always been that way…

    • @LionquestFitness
      @LionquestFitness  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Well, I think wheelguns are something people have seen in movies and television shows from years gone by. It's a simple manual of arms - load the gun, spin the cylinder, flip it shut and you are ready to drop bad guys at 100 yards with a snub. Or so they think.
      But regardless, as for the Zeta speedstrips and speed loaders, it is possible for them to grab a round. This is something I should have mentioned. They do require some manual dexterity and hand and finger strength to peel them off. As well as much practice.

In several thousand video breakdowns of real self defense shootings, john at active self protection has not once seen a reload used by civilian in defensive use. I love my speed loader for the range, but i think carrying medical, or non lethal (pepper spray, flash light, tactical pen etc) vs carrying a reload. I may do that when I retire next year from my current job of teaching law enforcement and fire fighting in a high school career center. However, I was just a simple cop. I worked with several small town departments and one university police department. You deal with people at their worst - people who are angry, upset, injured and traumatized. You try to step in the gap for them. Even the ones on the wrong side of the law if they'll let you. My most rewarding years were my last five where I worked as a school resource officer in a high school. I felt like I actually made a difference in many of those young people's lives.
