A civil war has been raging in Sudan for over a year. On one side is the military junta. On the other is a paramilitary group called the Rapid Support Forces, or RSF. Caught in the middle are the common people, many of whom are starving. About 18 million Sudanese people are facing acute food insecurity. 5 million are on the brink of starvation. Reports say some people have resorted to eating cats. Others have been boiling leaves and drinking the broth. And some are even digging up soil and eating that to survive. And the next few months could be worse, now that Sudan's lean period between harvests has begun.

Hunger deaths are rampant in India, especially in the states of Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha. A major reason for this is the unavailability of government rations.
Some deaths in Jharkhand in the last five years have left many serious questions about the government facilities and system reaching the poor and tribals living in abject poverty. The death of 11-year-old Santoshi is one such story; she died due to the lack of food (rice). Her death in September 2017 left the entire society shocked. The news was not just limited to Jharkhand alone but spread like wildfire even internationally where it was described as shameful for the country.
Koyali Devi, Santoshi’s mother, a resident of Simdega district, had informed that her death was on account of starvation. The family was not able to get the government ration for months as they were unable to get their ration card linked with the Aadhar card.
This is so deeply tragic that so many in our world are obese and others are starving. I really deeply desire a more equal and empathic world 😢

Rich middle east countries waste such a lot of food in the name of expiry and large portions of servings which can't be finished are also wasted thrown in the bin my heart & mind feels bad thinking of these people when I force fully throw this food in the bin as I work in the hospitality industry in 1 country where so much food is wasted

Even here in America where there's an abundance of food, I stopped at one child because its too expensive to have children and even though there's free food programs, you be feeding your child processed and GMO foods which causes so many disabilities and illnesses, the greatest one being cancer.
