    Great tip I am just finishing up the solenoid replacement on the valve body of my Range Rover Sport and before I put it back in I was practicing pushing that fork up with the new sleeve and it just wouldn't budge obviously I did not have it in Far Enough what a great video! Thank you so much

    I spent an hour saying bad words trying to install that on my BMW 750i last week. If I had watched this video before hand it would have only taken me one minute . Great advice. Now I know so it will be much easier the next 3 times i need to drop my valve body while figuring out what is wrong with my transmission. I'm replacing one possible problem part at a time.

    Thank you for this video. I couldn't get the plastic safety latch to go up with the new sleeve so I tried without the sleeve and still couldn't. I realize after this video that it will not go in without the sleeve. Thank goodness as I thought I broke it. I guess my question is now that I have the sleeve in and all locked in the right position and the safety clip is up properly and tight, why do I now have the wrench. All my pins were good and I didn't touch them or anything when the pan was off. They were all clean and in proper order. I didn't have any lights before, I just realized there was transmission fluid leaking. I changed the bulk sleeve and the main gasket. All fit perfect.

    Thanks so much for this video. I am having a terrible time installing a new mechatronic sleeve in my 2011 BMW e90. I seem to be able to locate tha slot at the 5:00 position and the sleeve pushes in just a bit but not far enough. When I apply force to the sleeve when it is in position, I notice that the white plastic locking mechanism moves slightly. I assume the failure to seat it is caused by what you described; that is, the two tangs near the bottom of the sleeve are not large enough to depress the spring clamps adequately (or one or both of the clamps are stuck). I plan to try using the small flat head strewdriver to push back the clamps as you suggested but it's not entirely clear to me how to do that. I wonder if another option would be to purchase the aftermarket sleeve with the larger tangs that you showed in the video. Can you reply with the brand or part # of that particular sleeve, assuming it would be suitable for my 335D? Thanks again. -Robert.

    • @YepThatsIt
      @YepThatsIt  Před rokem

      hi, a fair bit of fiddling to push the spring steel plate away so you can remove the sleeve. you will need to replace the mech plate now anyway so try just unbolt the valve body, you may need to support vbody and angle it a bit to get it off. we get plenty come in leaking at the sleeve because someone broke the fork previously. cheers
