    hello...2006 jaguar s type r...zf 6hp26....no codes ever....trans is beautiful except for one thing...at wot 2 to 3 shift the rpms flare wildly like it was kicked into neutral...let off throttle and reengages and drives great...solenoid 6 shows 0.42 as max amps.or 0.05 when not activated....all other solenoids will be either 0.85 or 0.05.....repair plan is as follows...replace bridge seal and 4 tube seals...replace all 7 solenoids....replace all end plugs...replace pan filter and fluid and sealing sleeve...i have cleared adaptations and done successful drive cycle 2 times with no change before deciding on repair plan after research including this very helpful video of yours....i am the owner of car and do the work myself....am i on a good track here and any other suggestions....thanks....forgot to add the fluid and filter have about 40,000 miles on it and the adaptation millibar readings are as follows...clutch A=400...clutch B=280...clutch C=400...clutch D=143...clutch E=400..strange how 3 clutches are the exact same and just barely over the desired limit....again no codes ever....thanks again

    Great information, I was just wondering if you have to reset the tcu via software and pc, as the transmission has had work done. Is this correct. Everywhere I read they are resetting/clearing adaptions on their transmission some even after an oil change let alone changing out solonoids etc otherwise the trans may not function properly....... I've got a Ford Territory 2010 ghia 6 speed and I'm about to do this service as the symptoms include problems changing smoothly and over reving also issues with slipping when cold in drive taking off so I'm doing the solonoids and Adapter Seal Valve Body Sleeve Connector Seal kit for zf 6hp26, do I need to reset adaptions after this kind of service. Or will the car adapt. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks for your vids. They are just fantastic. Steve pps I've read the comments and you already answered my question. Thanks anyways

    Hi Buddy,
    I have a BMW E60 2008 with the same transmission.
    Mine does not want to stay in park sometimes and now today the transmission got stuck in gears and overheated.
    I will change the oil, pan with filter, the 4 rubber sleeves, the square seal, the electrical plug sleeve and the solenoids.
    With how much air pressure did you do the test on the clutch in the 4 holes, how do I know if the clutch packages are ok, can you just hear it? how does it sound when they are not ok?
    Do you have any further advice, I think your video was absolutely amazing, very helpful.
    Thanks looking forward to your reply.

    Hi! Great video. Im thinking of doing this service to my 2012 gen 2 6-speed Bentley. Its time for gearbox oil changen 90 000km. Do you think its unnecessary to change celeniods, tube and bridge seal? When i go from 2-3 i low rev in sport mode it changes harsh nothing in high revs and nothing in drive mode. Or should i stick with normal oilchange?

    When the solenoids leak is it just the o-rings that fail or internal failure as well ?

    • @YepThatsIt
      @YepThatsIt  Před 3 lety

      hi, you can easily check o`rings for leaks...test for internal leaking or coil failure or binding up internal components. often the metallic debris inside solenoid is magnetised and cant be removed without demagnetising and flushing or even disassembly of solenoid to clean properly. make sure you also warm up solenoids and check resistances.

    How do you know if your 4 mechatronic seals bridge seals need replacing ? my trans is doing this weird thing under light acceleration or driving up a hill lightly accelerating where the revs will go up and down 150-200rpm between 2-3000rpm and on the odd occasion open road driving if its in 6th and gets under load the revs will raise then drop then the transmission failure light will come up and go to 3rd gear... i drive around with a obd2 scan tool and at work have a Xtool d8 it never gives me any codes .. engine off or when it goes into transmission failure i leave the car running and connect the scan tool still nothing. i serviced the trans about 500kms ago the fluid was like dirty LF6 with the OE gasket (240kms) with a brownish clearness to it... next to nothing on the magnets, replaced the filter and a alloy pan gasket and filled with GF syn ts car engages and shifts nicely in every gear except 3rd to 4th (sometimes) when the cars been driven for about 40 minutes.. sometimes after going up it hill it will hold 3rd longer before shifting into forth and sometimes pickup revs during the change. manual mode after going up a hill if i put it into 4th it wont shift unless i back off the accelerator a little. i thought if it was a valve issue Xtool would have picked it up. and if it was a clutches issue i would evidence in the pan.

    • @YepThatsIt
      @YepThatsIt  Před 9 měsíci

      hi, the valve body to case seals flatten out over time and allow pressure cross leaks. the valve body bores and end plugs also wear out, you can install a zip kit. the solenoids and sensors get contaminated with fine magnetic debris ( a leaking solenoid will not give a fault code ), when you have valve body out, make sure you air pressure test the apply ports to test for leaks. having failed after doing all that work, then you will need to remove trans and rebuild. cheers

    • @rx720bfc
      @rx720bfc Před 8 měsíci

      @@YepThatsIt thanks I'm going to drop the pan when i get free hoist at work and replace those seals and see if that works. if not i'll get the zip kit and solenoids i brought 20 litres of SYN TS when i first serviced the trans so i guess its getting a good flush that way haha... i also have a sneaking suspicion i have over filled the trans also i guessed the temperature being to lazy to get the temp gun. and the xtool isnt a wire one possibly the trans is acting weird after about 40kms cause the fluid has expanded and aerated?.... I should know better, i wouldnt do that to someone elses car but never do these transmissions. i love your videos you explain things really good its good when you are explaining the steps and why you do it like that with your experience and tips. most videos i have watched just say what they're doing without any detail

    Hi mate, I've just bought a mint condition BFII XR8 with only 54,000km on the clock.. I noticed that the ZF appears to lock and unlock the TC but only when foot is totally off the throttle under no load so while coasting downhill mostly around 70 to 80km/h you can see it on the tacho.. I've got a video on my channel of it doing this (it comes good once the ZF kicks back for engine braking and also comes mostly good after 10 to 15 mins of driving) what could it be?? I have a video on my channel of what it's doing Other issue I noticed is after a couple of km the shifts change and feel firmer -when it does this I notice that the revs drop as per normal when changing into next gear but a second later it drops ever so slightly again (this is possibly normal operation and just the TC locking up im not sure).. this is my 3rd low km ZF falcon and all 3 have been quirky at very low km.. Thanks in advance

I do find it strange that its only fluctuating revs when not underload and with no throttle.. I might buy a cheap scan tool and see if it's throwing any codes before spending dollars on it... Did you forget to put the last sensor/solenoid into valve body on the end where the magnetic shift rod is?

      @@YepThatsIt At 18:08 on video there is an empty hole next to the yellow solenoid on the side where the magnetic shift rod goes,on mine I have a solenoid that goes there making 8 solenoids total whereas I only see 7 on your valve body.

    This is one of the best vids about this trans but yet you still forgot to give all the bolt sizes for the torque screws. Only thing youre missing.

      hi, thanks for that. most people have a set of tools/sockets anyway. i`d be surprised if anyone would go out and purchase only the exact tools needed? cheers

    So I'm having a problem in 2nd and 3rd gear at wot. The error mentioned is 2700 trans friction element A. I'm thinking something is slipping as it's at Max power and load. It goes into a safe mode as such where the motor will not create any boost but changes gear fine. I'm thinking it's a pressure issue. Would this service with the valve body seals possibly fix the problem

      hi, it would be worth a try, however your solenoids are probably contaminated and/or leaking....especially if you`re getting a fault code. fault codes are usually electrical parameters have been exceeded and noted by pcm. check your cat isn`t blocked as well. cheers
