To be honest the Chicago Bears is where most quarterbacks go do die! Name one “elite” or “HOF” QB the Bears had in the past 40 years?! The defense carried them to the Super Bowl in 85 and 06.

It's a multitude of things:
1. He has to take more chances and not second guess
2. He's accustomed to elite WRs that he's throwing to(Ohio State)
3. Too much pressure is in his face and makes him paranoid
4. Coaching is atrocious
5. He got WRs(Claypool) not even trying
Too much is off and causing him to not be himself. The kid was a pocket passer at Ohio State and his draft analysis was him being highly praised for his ability to read defenses and his progressions. He didn't really run the ball like that in college and the last place he was running, was Georgia during his freshman season. It's all about the system, coaching and players you put around him. I believe at this point it's more about him getting out of his head and trying to play more of his game until there is a change whether that's within the team or him going elsewhere.
How about that he reads defenses as poorly as Mitchell Trubisky? Bad o-line or not, results shouldn't be this bad.

Fields was one of my alltime favorite college football players to watch. Huge fan. As soon as the Bears drafted him I was instantly depressed. Poor guy. Bears are terrible.

Fields showed flashes last year of his talent when he was allowed to be himself. He was making some dynamic plays with his legs and arm. The coaches trying to force him into something he's not is one of the issues plaguing this team. Nagy did the same thing with Trubisky when he wanted him to be a pocket passer when that was not his strength. A good coach will know how to maximize the talent on the roster and build a game plan around the strengths and weaknesses of the QB. So far the Bears staff seems clueless.
I'd honestly rather have prime Trent Dilfer over Fields or just about any scrambling QB. At least I know he's not going to do anything stupid to make us lose.

The Bears need to invest big in the o line this next offseason. They have some offensive weapons and a qb who can make people miss. If they can get a top 10 o line Fields job will be alot easier running AND passing. (Bad o lines make average qbs look terrible-good o lines make average qbs look like pro bowlers).

The bears just need to use their RBs, they have 3 really good power backs but haven't used them so far. 30+ carries/game and more play action passes will make the offense more effective. Fields is a good passer, he just needs to let it go quicker & only run when plays breakdown, don't overrun the qb. This is a good team, they just need to believe in what they have & make a few adjustments.
Problem is we get down and can't run cause we have to play catch up. 2ndly we face. 8 man fronts who dare us to pass

A dedicated person could watch every snap pretty easily, Stephen A.. There's only about 20 minutes of relevant football per game. The most games there are per week is 16. An experienced guy like Orlovsky could very reasonably watch every snap and take decent notes in like maybe 10-15 hours a week.

at this point I feel since the coaching staff are not tied to JF they are tanking for Williams. That's why we arent running JF or putting him in a position not only to win but to excel. the bears org has a revolving door of QB's and coaches. this will not change because for the last 20 YEARS the chicago bears revenue has been increasing without increasing play on the field. so as a owner why would you change anything? the only way this changes is if bears fans boycott the team, stop buying merchandise, stop watching media. this will force a team sale to another owner or it will finally tell the mcaskeys we are done with the BS. this will not happen though because unfortunately alot of people have their ego's tied to this team.

I’d just like to point out that it might just be this simple: the bears don’t want to win at the ownership and management level. Mere hours ago the JJ Reddick podcast the old man and the 3 had former Philly drafted players Andre igudala and Evan turner and they talk about how their careers were on a destructive trajectory on their draft teams and it wasn’t until they left they realized they purposely robbed them of their stats, tried to avoid big contracts, and focused on losing on purpose. Are the bears simply losing cuz they don’t have to spend money on winning.

Look at his 1st games. The GM and HC got canned for their failure to prepare him. They drafted him then shafted him. He ran for his life!
You can't blame coaches for missing easy throws, not throwing to receivers with separation, holding onto the ball when there's open receivers and taking sacks, and his accuracy is also off too. You can't blame coaches on this. It's not just this season but he was horrible last year and only beefed up his numbers after some meaningless games against poor record teams gave him some padding for his TD/INT ratio. Before then he was close to .500. He's just a really poor QB. When he moves to another team, it will all be the same and nobody will remember any of this, but they should because he's throwing everyone under the bus. The coaches aren't great, but the QB is awful too and that doesn't excuse him from his horrid play.

100%. All of the other interested teams have to be willing to invest in the skillset of Justin Fields, build around it, and take the risk on him. John Harbaugh was willing to throw the old Ravens' playbook out the window and restructure the coaching staff and scheme to try to bring the best out of Lamar and everyone around him and develop them. I don't know how many other clubs are willing to do that, but I do feel that the dynamic of the QB position is starting to change, and teams have to be willing to buy in.
