Nah this was actually good by Dan. He really broke it down real real good and well.
Justin Fields is sad 😔 😟 🙁 😥 😞 right now
Eh. JT (QB School) has already broken it down better in his two Justin Fields videos. You should see those
Dan is mid
@@tasteoftacosI agree, but those videos are also over an hour. I think this is a good 4 minute overview and I think JT would agree with most of it.
I know I just started watching football but i don't agree with Dan when he said the first play was not got in cover 2. To me it's perfect for cover 2 defense. As middle of the field shoud be pen for the POST and since the outside corner is defending the flat, the corner route by the number 2 receiver might be as well open. Is there something I am missing? Like I said I am novice to all this.
" "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." -Wayne Gretzky" -Michael Scott
"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." -Wayne Gretzky" - Michael Scott - Omegasphere
This applies to all facets of life
“ “ “ “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”- Wayne Gretzky” -Michael Scott” - Omegasphere” - Travolta12e
I'd rather see a QB miss throws as opposed to NOT attempting the throw
Which means 80 ints for fields
Tim Jenkins breaks it down, Fields new footwork under Getsy is messing up his footwork resulting in his feet not matching his eyes which in turn is throwing off the timing of his progressions. Which is at least 50% why Fields is not pulling the trigger
I’d rather Justin have a 30/30 Jameis Winston type of season than to keep watching him hesitate, pump fake and second guess himself. That’s all he’s doing right now. They’re also not running enough. They were the best running team last season smh it’s only been 2 weeks but this offense as whole has regressed unfortunately…
And for the record I'm NOT saying he wasn't messing up! It was absolutely terrible until he stopped dropping back so far and threw for like 100 yards in the 4th lol
@@ninjalbatrossbetter than sacks fumbles and broken ribs and whatnot
Think about this, we are SO bad that it’s confusing enough to fans and the league that we need people breaking it down in detail. I’ve never seen so much content on just a quarterback being bad, it’s kind of nice cause no one ever talks about the Bears.
No worries, people watch this and are still saying its the Bears' fault, not Fields'.
He isn’t even bad the bears stink… fields makes some good plays
@@ev8n718 I completely disagree. He doesn't know how to play QB in the NFL. Every play for him is like playing Madden, where you just look for someone open and try to react or run. Good QBs know where to go and/or at least know what their options are based on the defense before the play happens.
His good plays are like running around until a play breaks down and someone gets open or straight up QB runs. 0% chance of that being consistent in the NFL.
Watch J.T. O'Sullivan's QB school on the Bears and it'll tell you all you need to know lol its a collective effort on all accounts... O-Line, backs, WRs,TEs, obviously Fields and last but not least Luke Getsy... Throw in O-line, WRs and TEs coaches too becuz they're making the same mistakes from week 1... same stuff nobody seems to be on the same page whether it's technique or mental.. this is bad football and they're getting paid to play like this lol complete circus act every week it's looking like 🎪
@@lamueljsackson1376 I just watched oh my god what is happening with this team? I mean, at least it’s nice to have some sort of like accurate dialogue on the situation. One of the problems with being a bears fan is having no idea why we are so inept. The breakdowns really help haha.
I remember in the off-season how many experts said Justin Fields will be mvp favorite 😂😂😂
It was literally Dan & greeny
I never understood it either. He’s a terrible terrible passer since day one with zero progress. Trey Lance showed more improvement without getting many reps
@@chinkstas2349You realize from week 6-17 last season Mahomes had more ints than Fields and Fields had more PASSING tds than Herbert

he’s in his own head. he’s extremely talented but this just goes to show that talent can’t save you when you lose ur confidence
Scared to turn over the ball yet he’s already thrown two pick 6’s & it’s only week 3
Turns the ball over a lot regardless lol
That’s only compounded with then not having him rush very often which is just so odd. The narrative around Fields rushing last year was pretty bad. He’s simply a far better runner than passer right now.
That should tell u all u need to know he isn't a quarterback😂 how u a quarterback and scared to throw
This is the draft report on FIelds from the NFL web site - he is exactly what they said he would be and struggles with these since college. - Needs to improve pocket mobility for clean launch points.
Below-average feel for edge pressure, running himself into pressure points.
Field vision is average in face of the blitz.
Missed open blitz beaters in the middle of the field against Indiana.
Gradual operation time prevents expedited release.
Needs to release ball earlier on anticipatory throws.
Needs to improve eye manipulation as a pro.
Stagnant eyes invite coverage to the passing party.
Forces receivers to slow for deep throws.
Pet spin move as runner got him clocked against Clemson.
Great addition to the conversation. Thanks for this. I will say however that he had and is , as dan showed, ACTUALLY improving on his scouting report.
His feel for edge pressure is better. GB cb had him dead to rights last week and he spun off him without actually seeing him. Dis this regularly last year.
Field vision is improving- he sees the reads. Dan just showed it. He doesnt trust what he sees.
Missed open blitzers- He has checked into better protection for scores in both weeks this year.
Anticipation is better , again dan showed it on his 2nd play.
Still not good with eyes.
The ball positioning is worse due to changing his feet this offseason.
@@ericthurman1050maybe they should send him to eye doctor to check his eyesight 😂
Justin Fields needs glasses 👓 like “Wild Thing” Ricky Vaughn.
@@deancorso4212he stares at the open receivers too long before throwing giving away the pass attempt.
Dan could teach Justin more in a couple of hours than Getsy can in a full season.
Well why Dan couldn't teach hisself
@Mrlaw711• you can’t teach someone that can’t learn. Fields has never learned to think fast enough to make that second or third look. That’s why Georgia got rid of him.
There are many people in this 🌎 that can identify problems but few who can actually fix them
Getsy can’t make Fields competent , he can only teach. Has anyone thought about checking Busting Pick 6 Fields for brain tumor?

Danny O breaks down plays really well. Dude should be an OFC somewhere.
That is a pay cut from his current job.
He’s the only person who said that Justin was actually looking at the seam route & not the slow whew by Kmet.
I think the Panthers offered him that job and he turned it down
More Dan please. He is fantastic
He was a horrible QB and has no business talking about QB play

Great analysis I agree 💯 percent with the breakdown. He gotta play better. Coaches gotta coach. If I was coaching a kid with his talent it would be personal
People ignoring how bad the coaching and the rest of the team is... Same thing happened last season.
Fitting Dan orlovsky breaking this down
Very well explained!
Great breakdown Dan
Why can’t we just accept that not every qb from a draft is good nowadays
Only Trevor Lawrence of 5 is crazy. Mac had a decent rookie year and firlds ran well last year but that’s about it . Those 5 qbs drafted only Lawrence seems Star caliber
@@tonykiriakidis5219Mac Jones leads the league in passing rates n completions percentage, I know it’s only 2 games.
Been a Bears fan my whole life. It’s funny to me how Justin gets endless excuses for missing open WRs in year 3.. yet Trubisky was universally mocked for making the same mistakes with worse weapons and coaches as a rookie.
Yep and even with Cutler, it was always HIS fault. Now with Justin it’s everyone else fault but his. 🤔
Must suck being his teammates getting all the blame when they are WIDE OPEN waving their hands or block for him giving him 7 secs to throw only for him to get sacked
@@Wiggy_tonbunch of madden players. They want Justin to be good so they have a fast guy to use in a video game. Real fan issue today
Trubisky got exposed as a fraud with the Steelers. Last year the Bears gave Justin NOTHING to work with. First year, he wasn't a starter so this is really year 2 for him and they finally gave him some weapons but then hired a defensive head coach.
EXACTLY WHAT IVE BEEN POINTING OUT FOR 2 years!!!!
this was very good analysis
Pretty good breakdown.
I love these video's from Orlovsky. I would love a whole channel just of him breaking down plays like this. Nobody I have seen does it better.
The QB School (JT O’Sullivan) has much better, longer analysis on many QBs
@@poorbob1122JT keep repeating the same play again n again getting annoying to a point.
Great explanation
Chris Simms doubted Justin from the beginning, even before the draft, for these EXACT reasons, and he got so much hate for it last year. He's looking pretty smart now.
These problems never existed for Justin Fields prior to this season so that’s an irrelevant statement
@@zacwoods LOL look at Justin's passing stats from last year. They're pathetic, so of course the problems existed. He just had people like you fooled since he was a great runner.
@@KP99 uh no. You don’t look at stats to evaluate a Quarterback’s ability to throw the ball. Fields NEVER hesitated like this last year. If the play wasn’t there he was gone. It’s very obvious the coaching staff told him NOT to run that often and go through all his reads all while learning a completely different way to set up behind Center to receive the snap. You can’t change all that about an offense and expect the QB to be able to adjust in a single year’s span. He’s not even starting on the same foot yet we have idiots like you who think passing stats actually matter in real evaluations.
There are two primary keys as a QB, identify the Mike and set protection, second is to identify single high or double high safety on the snap. There is a saying that safeties don’t lie. To Dans point, one second in you see single high, what are my reads on single high, fire.
Hardest position in football, but you can simplify it into though two things.
I love how he breakdown tape
It's also coaching some plays had 2 receivers less then 5 feet apart drawing more db's and safeties, other times they shut of half the field and try to make Justin pass to only one receiver on that side that not cut off. Also there are times the o-line seems to not know what there doing.
Love the boots 👍
She looks like she's working a street corner.
I can't watch NFL Live (except for these YT videos) because I'm in Japan, but this show feels like NBA on TNT. It's great tv!
Good breakdown.
This is unbelievable.
Yea……
Dan Orlovsky is THE MAN! for this breakdown. Thank you Dan 🎉.
What is the purpose of the music in the background?
I think they were on the spot at the end, I feel like fields has a mental/self esteem issue. He has talent, I feel like hes just uncomfortable in the pocket as well as being scared of turning the ball over. And this is coming from a die hard packers fan. Fields has the talent and brains, I feel like its a nervousness or ego problem with turning the ball over.
he doesn't have enough mental processing ability to be worrying about self esteem or nervousness in those moments. he can't even process more than one read at a time, slowly.
I don’t want to hear criticism from a guy whose career highlight is running out of the back of his own end zone on a roll out.
I think there was a time he'd make that throw - and it was before they asked him to shorten his throwing motion (reduce his windup).
Dude is in his third year... way past the phase of make mistakes and learn. Should be playing at the tempo and speed of NFL QB, as well as understand what defense is giving him prior to snapping the ball
The point you're missing is that he's been overcoached to the point where he's playing unnaturally. He looks so different from last year.
@@KisutoJP yea because hes being coached to be a pocket passer that reads defenses instead of relying on his legs to create plays
@@colinwarner643Everyone complained last year he needed to learn to read defenses. If he's playing slower because he's trying to read the defense then he's not going to succeed as a starter.
@@KisutoJPImagine the cope . Assuming someone is getting "overcoached" 😄 they're drawing him easy routes to process yet its still too much for him.
@@KisutoJPExactly 💯 someone gets it! He's had trash offensive coordinators, head coaches, & O-lines & he's supposed to trust his health & abilities to those people!
Its a huge difference in watching the game and actually out their on the field
He's an analyst doing his job. It doesn't change the fact that he's right.
At 2:44 how he doesn't see the WR open at the 10yl by the right hash is beyond me. A TD if he reads and releases timely.
Did you have your audio off? Dan states and shows that he sees him, gets ready to throw, then doesn't. I don't think it's a "not seeing" issue, it's a "not trusting what he sees" issue.
How much of coaching and developing his game to NFL QB take into effect
As a bucs fan, i think bc the whole league knows that tampa is a blitz happy defense, that he anticipates that he is gonna be running outside the pocket , or maybe he doesn’t know how to read who is gonna blitz and who is gonna drop back. He threw some really good passes when he was comfortable. And the DBs for tampa really aren’t that great tbh.
But going back to the blitzing, it seems to me that in passing situations he overthought the blitz and maybe also didn’t trust his initial decisions.
He knows not to scramble them linebacker’s would kill him
For that first clip for whatever reason he simply doesn’t see backside ins. If u watch his tape he constantly either doesn’t see it or turns it down even tho it’s open. In the first 2 games there’s like more then 5 times the backside in is open and the read and he just doesn’t throw it. He also doesn’t seem to be able/willing to throw with anticipation which leads to him not throwing to open guys.

With how deep that corner is playing at the LOS on moore, dude coulda signaled for a screen pass to moore and had a quick 6-10 yards
It's the play callin
I wish fields would use his legs more to extend a play on that first play if he rolled out to the right he would’ve been golden I get qbs should really scramble like that but when you have one of the most athletic qbs ever maybe you should start having him do that
Justin Fields doesn’t trust what he clearly sees down field.
Those 2 clips don't mean nothing. Watch a person like JT O'Sullivan over at the QB school break down Fields. He has a serious problem reading defenses. His other problem is he gets stuck on a route and does not work through his progressions. The second clip you want to put in a good light because he was ready to throw it to the right guy. But what you fail to point out is the right guy happened to be the first guy he looked at. You can watch a 40 minute breakdown of Fields with over 20 broken down plays and the guy just cannot read defenses at a high level or make progressions on his reads.
I don't trust anyone's opinions on NFL QBs anymore. Brock Purdy was completely overlooked by this same media and should have been hyped as a 1st round pick instead of Trey Lance and Fields.
The coach call a play to get receiver open and he don’t throw it. But everyone is blaming the coaches. WTF😢
It’s literally two plays here.. the play designs have been AWFUL so far
@@SimDaBears so play that work it not fields fault but play that don’t work it the coaches fault. It Two play but how many play do you get in a game
@@Luluthecat-22 its tough when you have to conform to your coaches as a young QB.. give it 4 or 5 weeks before you call Justin a scared QB
Sometimes you draft a QB and he turns out to be a Giovanni Carmazzi it happens.
It’s called not understanding what you’re looking at he is clearly not the guy
How can he not see it? Those guys are wide open and he has plenty of time
This offense …The Fields-Quinn offense … unlocks the special skill set of Justin Fields. I believe it's the answer.
I love my Chicago Bears … and I hate to see the turmoil we’re in … but I think I have found a way out of it. No new players required, no waiting around, we can fix the problem on offense right now. An offense that moves the chains and controls the clock also helps its defense to rest. We would need a QB to spell Justin occasionally, and confuse the defense.
The solution is to simplify things for Justin, for everybody. And Luke Getsy is not required, because Justin would decide the outcome of every play for himself, and to be himself.
JF is good at two things. Running … and throwing the ball while running.
This offense …The Fields-Quinn offense … unlocks the special skill set of Justin Fields.
I suggest a player of his particular skill set operate exclusively in the play-action scenario.
The formation never changes. On every single play, the defense will see exactly the same formation. One tight end, three receivers, and a running back behind the QB.
On every single play, the defense will see the QB under center, taking the snap, and moving back to hand it off to the running back, who may be moving towards the line, or left, or right.
On every single play, if the ball is not handed off …. The QB will boot one way or the other.
As he runs, he will determine if there is an open player he can hit relatively easily … or he will continue on foot and gain a first down. The running back is either a roving blocker, or a target.
The defense cannot really cheat either way. They must present a balanced look. IF they bring a heavy line, for example on 3rd and 1 …. The QB can simply boot and run for the first down, or throw it to a receiver wide open deep.
If it is 3rd and 20 … and the defense is playing deep off the ball .. the QB can hand it off straight up the gut through a three man defensive line. HE can boot and run amok in the secondary, a forte of his.
The power of the offense is that the QB can see what the defense is presenting and decide right up until seconds after the snap .. .what the play will be. Even when he has decide to naked bootleg it … it can still be a pass or a run. Justin has the ability to kill a defense on his feet when he’s in the open. Getting him in the open looking for open receivers is key to Justin’s success. You don’t need to think as you run. Is anyone open near me or easily connected with? No? Keep it.
A very simple offense that has amazing power. The defense only ever gets one look, yet it has no idea what’s coming. It has to be ready for a deep pass over the top …. Or a gut punch up the middle … on every single play. Easy to implement, easy to teach, easy for Justin.
Where does it fail?
Poles is using this season to make him or break him. We aint running the Baltimore O again for a reason. Unsustainable. We have two 1st round picks and right now they're both looking good at having a shot at #1. Or package both for the move up to one and get Caleb Williams baby! Poles is making sure Justin and his fans have no excuses when we move on from him.
when I see JF's feet slow down methodically like that, I know how real it is that the Bears haven't won a game since October 2022
🤫 🐻⬇️
There is obviously more going on behind the scenes in terms of coaching and play calling.
How does JF do better with less last season?
I believe they're telling him not to run and to become a pocket passer, when that is clearly not playing to any of his strengths.
It dosen't add up...
If anybody should have an idea about QB struggles it's Dan Orlovsky, give me a break.
Dan knows all about the struggle
Dan solved the problem, the coaches need to empower Justin which they aren’t doing at all
Dan Orlovsky can break down film, I'll give him that.
Pretty sure Field's total stats last season was better than his entire career.
Fields DOES need to make better decisions... Coaching staff/play calling needs to step up too.
The Third Year is the make or break year. You'll know in that season if a young QB has what it takes.
Took Purdy 7 games
mina kimes lip bite got me 😩
I’m calling it. Fields is a bust. Add him to the list along with Zach Wilson Trey Lance and Mac Jones
I would highly recommend JT O'Sullivan's "The QB School" CZcams channel. He has done 2 weeks of Justin Fields analysis and his breakdowns show that, while Justin has many things he needs to do better, the whole offense is broken. You have really bad situational play calling, bad play designs, multiple receivers in the same spot on the field, receivers that can't run their routes fast enough or don't make an effort, offensive lines play that is very below average and formations that cause the O-line to not be able to work effectively.
That was pretty much exactly what's up. He's not dropping back, he's stutter stepping and bouncing. His mindset is apprehensive instead of assertive. Orlovsky nailed it.
On that last example Fields was about to throw it to the Checkdown not down the field. That’s actually worse IMO because that means he progressed to the checkdown before the routes down the field even developed. Like how tf do you get off your routes down the field before they even develop!?
This is a show that’s broadcast on a big network? You’d think something as simple as glare from studio lights could be corrected before air.
Thank God we got to hear what Mina thinks… Heaven forbid we get more detailed analysis from the former NFL QB on the set…
Can't see anything on your gray screen.
I think he appears to see the routes if his hot is the one that's open. It's when it's his 2nd or 3rd read (according to the designed play progression) that he doesn't see quick enough! The one he nearly pulled the trigger on ran in the path of his "hot" read and it is the only reason he even saw that! I believe his brain is in a fog and there aren't many things any coach can do to fix that! They can play to his strengths, but that only won them 3 games last year. He needs to be able to be a pocket passer and once he has some success, then his designed runs will be even more dangerous!
Just so I can make sure I heard what I heard: "Bouncy feet means overthinking."
At least he didn't run out the back of the endzone
Luke Getsy giving Justin happy feet
Just wait until Tyson Bagent gets his chance. This dude will be like Brock Purdy.
they know, this why bagent got to qb2 this fast. the pick bagent to do the things, maby even to try show jf while practice also, but I have. hard time seeing him next neat it gonna need a miracle
Bagent threw 1/6 passes as a screen, because Getsy knew the line would fail.
That’s the difference between a coach who says go out there Justin and be great like we know you can be and don’t worry about turning it over and a coach who screams and tells you you better not turn the ball over. That’s why mahomes plays so freely because his coach lets him do what he wants with no repercussions, other QB’s don’t have that luxury and that causes them to play tight and scared
Orlovsky is definitely a Jordan 1 mid type of guy
Mina's hair is so silky! Luv it!
Says the guy who once stepped out of the end zone attempting a pass.
Dude couldn't beat Jake Fromm, but everyone has been trying to hype him up. It's so hilarious how these analysts are all about to turn and be like "Justin Fields sucks and we always said he did."

He need to take that shield off
He has "Bears disease" No known cure.

He's the Ben Simmons of the NFL
Fields is a running qb and has that mentality and I think he's struggling with throwing or running... he's go the look of being caught in the headlights and panics if he's gonna throw an interception
Some people in life rise to the level of their own incompetence. It’s possible that he’s just not capable of consistently moving the ball at the pro level. Tebow encountered this phenomenon.
