Might it be the fact that they constantly fall off horses? Lol to be fair Richard is actually quite experienced with horses as he owns some... But it's nearly impossible to stay on one that's doing.... That. Especially given the half assed shitty saddles on those. Good western saddle and he'd have almost certainly stayed on. Props to him though for being tough. Basically just broken his arm and still had the balls to worry about everyone else and warn them against getting kicked.
