Breathe Deeper is a game changer
IT IS
Agreed.
747lch it’s beyond time and space tbh
It's my favorite song on the album I think. Stellar drums, bass, and piano
That's funny, Breathe Deeper is my least favorite on the album.
The best Valentine's gift.
Happy birthday to me!

@@111whitepony111 Happy Birthday!!!
sometimes i envy his life ...but really ... i think it would be really hard. the extreme pressure of doing almost everything yourself... the incredibly high standard people hold you to, having complete control in the studio would be crippling in ways, and the isolation of working on everything by yourself and being the only one with the vision of the work. props to him for holding it all together. i'm a hardcore fan since innerspeaker.
Fame has its price. I mean he put psychedelic rock back into mainstream again, fans over the world adore Kevin, all the top artists badly want to him produce their music and such.
But all these success, he just can't proudly show it to his father, who has died before Tame Impala rise to fame. That's why we can hear Kevin's grief in a couple of songs. I guess we cant have it all
lmao you just focusing the hard part, he's a fucking star, went around the world and totally made it with HIS music that is made only by him with masterpieces in all his albums.. that meaning all the fans love just you, not even a band. what a genius
For Your Consideration fantastic comment, IMO
I don't know if it's Kevin's idea or not, but there's a good bit of pressure on this album to succeed commercially. After touring quite a bit to festivals and mostly 4,000-seaters or so in the U.S. in 2019 (as a headliner), they're trying to make the jump to 15,000-seaters this year. That's a hard jump to make. Sure, they can sell out MSG in New York City, but Atlanta? Kansas City? Tulsa? They're essentially betting on "The Slow Rush" being a commercial hit (or the record company is, at least). I remember when R.E.M. made a similar jump, with "Monster" around 1995. But "The Slow Rush" is stylistically a departure, complicating things further. I hope it works out, though a part of me hopes they throttle back to smaller venues (like the summer sheds).
well said, and me too!
his speaking voice is so much deeper than his singing voice. love his vocal range
You should see his old band the dee dee dums he actually sings in his speaking voice on a few songs at least instead of the falsetto he later adopted
He wants this album to be more “yes I’m changing” and less “why won’t they talk to me”
You keep believing in yourself Kevin
557T108F70 Jimmy i’m j wishing he’d release something more like half full glass of wine again :(
But Why Won't They Talk to Me is a great song...
Ru it’s a very good song. Kevin was wanting to be more sure of hisself and have a swagger which fits “yes I’m changing” since it’s about confidence and accepting change. Why won’t they talk to me is about being sad and lonely and not sure of yourself
charlotte ack. Why he’d be laughed out of the music business in half full glass of wine he wore his influences dry heavy on his sleeve. It’s a straight up cream tribute and if he didn’t evolve from the ep you’d just have the Beatles version of Greta van fleet
Why won’t they talk to me helped me accept my estranged relationship with my parents...that song is classic tame impala💕
Kevin seems far more assertive and confident than other interviews ive seen him in
She sets up the questions well and doesn’t leave a lot of empty space
It's a natural conversation, she adapts to the answers. He sees through the bs questions most interviewers ask.
She was a great interviewer
+2. Imagine the outrage of a non-fan trying to interview Kevin Parker for triple j. Big up Triple J (and pretty interviewer lady of course)
Her name?
She ain't no Linda tho..
@@Panthercholo check the vid description
@@mot00rzysta Gee, thanks for the help. What you wrote was more letters than typing her name.
I just love how he is trying so hard to stay as much calm as he can when she mentions the drums...but he's too excited! So passionate!
Dude is so sincere and straight up.
I've never heard him speak so much, this is wonderful. Great insight and a joy to listen to, especially with it being about his fantastic new album.
watch Zane Lowe's 45 minute interview!
@@redzeroism Thanks, I actually did yesterday! It was very captivating, he asked Kevin some good questions.
Posthumous Forgiveness never been more moved by a song...
Yousef Razick I relate to it so damn much, makes me shed a tear every time
@@robbycole1226 same, brother. When the song shifts to the second part my heart melts and i cry like a baby.
Totally agreed
It’s been so long since I had to stop and be like “woah what song is this” when I was listening to the album last night! It’s amazing
English is not my native language. When I hear a song in English usually I download it or not for the music. This song called my attention because of the music and when I searched for the lyrics I just was even more liking it.
She’s such a good interviewer!!!!
She sure is 👍💯👩
She told Kevin Parker's songs and he told her that what is about.
Indeed
Specifically how comfortable she lets Kevin feel about opening up about his craft. Artists get put off on interviews by interviewers looking at their question while the talent is talking, or showing no facial expressions which in return gives off a “I don’t care” vibe. She’s class, not too pushy and also doesn’t let the interview get stale and boring.
Yeah. You right tho. I was just thinking the same thing. And, I dig his responses. They seem pretty heartfelt.
See the thing about the single version of Borderline is I already have memories attached to it. When I hear the original it takes me back to what was happening in my life 6 months ago. And I used to sing that bassline in the car and shower. The original was just kinda right for me...
I listen to both and trust me eventually the new borderline will have its own memories and maybe be your favorite one day
Same 😢

Would like to tell Kevin that I HEARD THE BASS LINE IN BODERLINE!! And it was/is my absolute favorite detail in the song! I heard you 😩
Yes he brought them way down, also why I think he single ver is superior
@@Vaenomenonyesss wayyyy better with the changes 🥹
I get it. His music is so perfectly In tune with the frequency of life, that who ever tunes in to IT, can later feel themselves drifting away from the music as their life changes, wanting it more, every time they remember it.
Underrated comment cus it’s 100% accurate
YOOOO i listened to this album on repeat in february when it came out, stopped and found myself missing going to school and being happy (i was the happiest and freest i had ever been in february) and so recently i’ve been listening to this album on repeat once again, to remind myself of happier times wowwww
This comment is gold. Especially for aspiring musicians that create music and want to connect to others. That’s how you do it. And it’s not easy at all.
yes exactly omg
I can’t believe I saw this man perform literally right in front of my eyes. I LOVE U KEVIN
wow im jEALOUS ASFFFFFF

A these years later and still the same old Kevin. The Slow Rush sure is gonna come in handy for Valentine's solo.
we’re all about to be so blessed with this album
lizzy rosario why’s that? I thought it was great
It's great, don't listen to them.
lizzy rosario lmao then what are you doing here?
First time I've heard him speak. Did not expect his voice to be that deep! Haha
I deeply wish Kevin would release a "Borderline (nostalgia edition)" with the lyrics and structure of the single version, but fulfilling his vision on what makes the new version better in terms of production and arrangement. The single version had so much meaning to me and though I also love the new one, I really miss the original
I love this interview; it seems so relaxed. Kevin inspires me when it comes to recording, producing, mixing and mastering everything, so just getting to listen to him talk about his approach and how he feels about his work helps me feel less bad about the trouble I run into
Props to this interviewer for asking great, highly informed questions!
SO PROUD OF THIS GUY HE'S COME A LONG WAY
I CAUGHT THAT BORDERLINE SOUNDED DIFFERENT I really wanted to know why it was like that. I low-key prefer the single version vs The album version
Both versions should both be up on streaming services
@@deandsilva9889 they are but that's why I said I prefer the single version vs The album version. I'm listening to the album on repeat but when I'm in the mood for some borderline I'll just pull up the single version.

Rosanne Schaap wtf I just noticed that too, why would he do that

She asked really good questions. Great interview with Kevin
Lost in yesterday, is it true, and breathe deeper encapsulates my mind. It’s beautiful how I’m able to not only feel the music, but become part of it. It’s like I’m synced into the rhythms. It’s hypnotizing. Something i rarely feel with music anymore. Thank you Kevin Parker 🥺🥺
If you wanna feel more in touch with music. Look way further into Indie Music and Underground artists, most mainstream is basic but theirs definitely gems if you look into a certain genre more
Yes Kevin.
It depends Kevin
What a great interview, what great questions, this is the journalism we’re looking for ! Well done !
People who listen to this guy just for ‘the less I know the better’ are missing out on a really intelligent and genuine dude
interviewer: what are you nostalgic for at the moment?
kevin: anything that happened a long time ago..
Jeremy Ward I stumbled upon your comment RIGHT as it was said in the interview 👏🙏
Me too^

The music he has created is fuel for my soul!
Only one day, and I’ve been waiting forever! I love Kevin Parker and this was an excellent interview. Thank you!
Just saw him yesterday, amazing performer, amazing show !!!! If you could go see him live GO!!!!!!!!!! I’d give anything to relive it 😊
How Kevin feels about Kanye’s songs is how I feel about Borderline
despectacular when in the vid does he reference Kanye?
I much prefer new Borderline. I understand missing the quieter section near the end of the track but the track as a whole sounds much punchier and works better in the context of the album

Jude Taylor barely. Youre clearly delusional.
Kevin ! You’ve had helped me tremendously for the last 2 years and for that I’m eternally grateful! I love you, I love your swagger, and I can’t wait for more ! Can’t wait for the tour to start up again !

Also the interviewer was amazing! Great job!
Such a wholesome and amazing person. Can't wait to see what the future holds for you and congrats on the new album
thanks for opening him up so much!! great interview!
Been listening since The Dee Dee Dums, his music has changed the whole way through and this album is no different, but it's still a pure joy to listen to. That's the magical thing that makes Tame Impala amazing
Wow day one fan here huh?! Nice!
Best interviewer I've heard in a long time.
What a fantastic interview. The interviewer had amazing questions and was so engaged and you could tell she had a genuine understanding of KP’s music.
I love you Kevin, thank u for being there for me in these hard times of my life! Ur amazing. God given talent that touches the hearts of many.
Kevin is awesome. Can’t wait to listen tonight!
I have so many memories tied to music. Especially tame impalas older albums
Such a beautiful rare candid interview with KP thank you !
Thanks Kevin! Your art is genuine, such a relief I have someone to follow who has stayed devoted for all the right reasons.
Borderline was then and now listening to the whole album still is my fav of em all and i instantly loved the bass line. First thing i ran to the keyboard and played. So Kev, we heard it man 😎✌
12:40 if anyone is interested in what Kevin is talking about here, please look up Jai Paul x Bronze - Jasmine. its a procedurally generated remix of an already incredible song where every time you listen to it, you get a completely unique experience. something we can see more of in the future

Love you Kevin! Keep embracing your creativity and giving us fans what we need and not what we want. Cheers bro
Listening to him is so so inspiring and the questions are SO GOOD! Great interview
He is so irresistible. What an intense, musical genius.
I get insecure how I pause so much in between my words with “umm”, “like” and “and” until NOW
Really nice to see someone with amazing talent be so humble.
KP is one of the most influential musician of the decade, and I'm a big fan of him since day one. This album came out when i was drowned in my deepest sadness, then i heard On Track and crying a big time. KP really knows how to combine those magical lyrics with awesome music composition; it's very genuine and i really loved that. This album is a pure art. Thank you KP.
He's an exceptional person.. love to see him live one day
Slow Rush is amazing.
Great interview! I like how chill and confident he is. Love him
The only reason I can imagine he’s promoting his already much anticipated album is because he really wants that Grammy next year
He’s getting it
well he damn well deserves it
x-perthunter. He doesn’t care about awards. Grammys are a sham anyway. He wants people to enjoy his music
Yeah so that he can bury it in his backyard next to his ARIA
lizzy rosario you sound dumb the album is fire
I wanna marry Kevin so bad like I could talk to him for hours
I love his reaction to her asking about Borderline lmao
This is a fabulous interview!!!!
I really enjoyed this interview. Nice job Lucy!

please kevin.......... please bring back the single version of borderline on spotify for those who prefer it. we should be allowed an option seeing as we listened to the older version and fell in love with that one for almost a year
I really like this interviewer and KP is so articulate, I love listening to his interviews ❤️❤️
Still my favorite artist 6 years later 😭 the slow rush and currents will always be the reason I got through hard times.

This album was a masterpiece. Congrats KP and co. Can't wait to see you perform in August!
Can somebody please tell Kevin to please release the original borderline. As much as we can compliment the current one, the original really gave me the feeling of my own borderline
HE SOUNDS SO DIFFERENT WHEN HE SPEAKS NORMALLY I CANT FATHOM THE FACT THAT HE IS THE SINGER I LISTEN TO EVERYDAY
sasuke SAME
i admire this man so much
Man, I love Kevin and Lucy. Great interview and great album!
I didn't expect such a deep voice having only heard his singing voice
theres something about his music that feels like “dont worry just give in to the experience and you will feel free” its like he somehow extracted the feeling of a psychedelic trip into chord progressions
Man, I love this guy so much.
Hey you should check out my brothers band if you like Tame Impala, his band is called The Doublejumps
He seems like such a nice guy to talk to, you could probably talk about anything and he’d be okay with it. I think that his views on the album are so cool, and it’s great. I totally agree with his theme and views of moving on, and it’s so interesting, too. I sometimes have overwhelming nostalgia and longing for things to be like they used to, but this has helped me realize there is still hope left for the future. Thanks Kevin!
