@@kenjisor They obviously can fall to the dark side of the force, but they seem to be naturally attuned to the light side. 🤷🏽♂️ The force does love to stay in balance, so this would make sense. I'd imagine there are other species that fit the light/dark balance as well.

It actually is the reason, I believe this is just because Yoda and Yaddle were raised and grew up on their home planet and there is some reason I cant recall why their species basically has a hard time wording a sentence in a proper manner & I believe this dude probably spent most of his younger years away from their home planet

Since they took it over and younger fans aren't familiar with Legends content, and that's a majority of YT viewers.
I seen somewhere that Revan is now canon, by that definition these characters are considered canon

Missed a couple if things. 1. Darth Nihilus drained the world of Katarr where the Jedi met, not Dantooine. 2. The Jedi (other than the Revanchists) didn't wish to intervene in the Mandalorian Wars in large part due to a force vision Master Vandar received.
Vandar also speaks "yodanese" in kotor2

Vandar is on the jedi council in dantooine in KOTOR... (I said kotor 2 above... oops) I always got the impression he was an instrumental part of the council for bringing revan back to the light side.

3:08-3:36 seems like a huge clue for the future of the Star Wars Universe. The Mandalorian War was a Sith plot to pit the Mandalorians against the Jedi. The Jedi and Mandalorians never realized they were always the left and right hand of the same ideology. The Jedi sought passive honor, while the Mandalorians chose aggressive honor, to frame the argument in simple terms. They are the perfect complement to each other.
Screw Disney's Canon! They messed the whole thing up.... I will always look at "legends" as the only true canon. Those writers having earned that credit due to merit alone! It's Legendary Canon!

I like some stuff of Legends, but overall it was a real mess with massive powercreep and a weird obsession with one family.
It felt like "keeping up with the skywalkers" instead of using the endless possibilities of Star Wars to tell different stories in varied environments.
Not saying that disney's new canon is better... their TV shows rock though.
I don’t look at either. I just look at what Lucas said was true canon which is ep 1-6 and in between.
The only Star Wars that matters is what was released while Lucas was in charge.

The tale of Revan's triumph, fall, and redemption is one of the greatest things to come from the EU. There certainly enough material to make several tv seasons. Another is the Descent of Exar Kun, the Fall of Ulic Qel-Droma, and the Rise of Nomi Sunrider. What a saga that would make. As for after Death Star II, the X-Wing series by Stackpole and Alston. This series takes the character of Wedge Antilles and treats him with respect, unlike the new blasphemies churned out by Darth Kath and Darth Mickey. (Totally personal opinion on this last point; but, blast it, the X-Wing Series Wedge was one of the coolest characters that made one interested in the rank and file Rebels. Imagine how many sat around the screen, playing the OT and trying to identify these other characters.) Sit vis vobiscum.

I'm hoping more information on the species gets covered in "The Mandalorian" all we really know is basically that they possess telekinesis (not powered by the force) and live a long time, roughly 1000 years.. "Baby Yoda" is 50ish years old and is still considered a young child/toddler.. he hasn't learned to speak yet and barely understands words... I predict that it would happen in season 3 or whenever Mando has gotten the intel he needs from other mandos... imo "The Mandalorian" is being set up to introduce us to more info on yodas species.

The whole Sith Triumvirate thing would be perfect for an Old Republic saga. One trilogy for each of the three wars they caused, ultimately ending in their defeat
I’d argue it was four wars altogether. The great Sith war, the mandalorian wars, the Jedi civil war, and the dark wars/Jedi purge
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Sion is from the Exar Kun War, isn't he? And Nihilus and Kreia are both from the Mandalorian Wars, since they say Keria is Arren Kae who was Revan's first Master and participated in the Mandalorian Wars along With Yusani, the Father of Brianna and Nihilus was a Jedi that survived the Mass Shadow Generator

Vandar wasn't Revan's master after he had his memory wiped. His master was Zahr, another member of the 4 person Jedi council on dantoine
All masters on Dantoine taught him in some sort...

Yoda's surname is most likely Yoda, with his first name being unknown. In early drafts of ESB, Yoda was called Minch Yoda.

Grandmaster Vandar Tokare died during the events of Kotor 2 and was in power since even before the events of Kotor 1
Vandar was a character who sadly had to die due to KotoR 2 Story... He maybe would have stand a chance against Sion or even Traya herself... Nihilus however would kill him. Nihilus is the essence of sith, he hungers for others suffering. And speaks only Sith

What else can be done to demonstrate Nihilus is a menace than to kill every Other Jedi but the ones you're looking for, Atris, Jolee, Bastila and Revan?

Yoda’s species seems to have an unusually powerful connection to the force, almost as if they were directly connected to it. The only other powerful force users known to be strong with the force like them were Revan and the Skywalker bloodline.

Interesting, I’m sure I’ve seen master vandar before playing the knights of the old republic games years ago, but this video took those plot lines and showed even more of the story. I’d like to know where I can get more info on the extended universe stuff if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Lets be real folks The Old Republic had far more crazy stuff happening than the current one. Not to mention every jedi and sith had light saber and force abilities that made current day practitioners look like kids playing with toys. I would love the full backstory of Darth Traya as Kotor 2 was my favorite of the series playing as the Exile (another underrated character). Her force abilities such as the one to let her presences go undetected whilst standing blatantly in front of them was one of the most interesting ones as it appears to have been the same technique that Darth Sidious used on the jedi council. The Only really good thing that the disney versions gave us was the fact they made Revan Cannon having sith troop squads names after him. Therefore … prepare for Old Republic to be adapted into a live series. Releasing a prequel storyline narrative out of chronological order seems most natural for this series it does.

I like your video about master vandar. It explains many questions I have had since playing the Kotor 1 and 2 games many years ago. What I don't understand is why ashoka tano forgot about both bandar and yadel in her comment in season 2 that Yoda was the only member of that species she had ever known about.

Vandar is all legends, idk if any canon works have even reached as far back as his time.. except maybe Old Republic video games
Old Republic games aren't canon since 2013, but kotor series is the only thing he's in
@the Stupendous Wave to my understanding Enclaves/Academies and temples were pretty common in the Revan/Bane era. After the events of Path of Destruction the first book of the Bane Trilogy the Order seems to have began a restructuring phase which centralized the Jedi Order but even up to Yoda's era however less prominent there were still Enclaves, Academies and temples. For instance Jorus C'baoth and the Outboand Flight project was a move to branch the order out and train force sensitives in remote areas of the galaxy like the Enclaves/Academies in past eras. Correct me if I'm wrong but your video kinda makes it seem like Vandar and the Enclave was a rare thing and I would agree with ya if you were talking about yoda's era but during Vandars time Enclaves/Academies and temples were not uncommon to my understanding.

I remember Vandar, he was a jedi master during the time of the Jedi civil war who survived Malik's assult on the jedi temple on Dantooine as he is present at the end of the war to congratulate Revan and the crew of the Ebon Hawk, including Bastila.

I have not read any of the old Republic books (in general anything timeline wise before episode 1) WHile i know of the characters, the story is new to me I will have to read them one day. But Vandar sounds like the inspiration of Baby Yoda almost. At least the part of a member of the Yoda species that will not be raised by his species. Thanks for the history lesson.
This story deserves it's own live action movie.
I forget the other of Yoda's race that was on the Jedi council, but my current theory is her and Yoda are Grogu's parents.

I always liked Darth Nihilus, I love the scene in KOTOR II when it reveals him and he's on the bridge of the Ravager. A destroyed capital ship he commands his fleet from and holds together with the force. Super bad. I like the character design of Malak as well, they both look bad ass.

What I find interesting, is that with all the important characters that have come from the species, it has never been given a name.
Anybody else starting to wonder if the prophecy of the one is real if it wasnt about Palpatine instead of Anakin because it seemed Palpatine set all these things in motion that if it wasnt for him we wouldn't of had Vader, Kylo, order 66 or Rey. It was him that essentially through his manipulation and downfall that cause the force to be in balance.
But that's part of the problem with Disney's sequels. They made the whole saga about Palpatine, and Lucas had said it was about Slywalkers. Kennedy did not keep true to Lucas vision and treat his character's with respect. She threw out his character's, ignored all previous work, saying basically it didn't exist.
I wish we got a book of him or a comic. I just want more Stars wars content that’s substantive.

It's been a while but if I remember Kreaia wanted to destroy the force. Imagine if she was succesful, no more Vitiate and no more Bane and no Star Wars trilogy.
Perhaps Vandar is the baby in the Mandalorian that would be awesome and thanks for introducing me to this character.
