Thank you for posting. I was assigned a book report for my second time around Adult class, but I am way too busy to read a book about birds. Now, I have all I need for a solid C. Say what you want, but C's get GEDs!
Good lord, so much education in such little time! Simply mind blowing. I never knew how much I didn't know about birds, but now I can set others straight on these matters.
I remember this coming on t.v. once in the morning when a group of friends and I were very hungover. We sat there gasping at its awesomeness and when it finished we burst out laughing. We kept quoting it and cracking up
This will never, ever get old. The fact it's still here 18 years later. About as old as YT itself. I feel rather ancient now. But in a good way. Perhaps someone who is old enough can tell us what life was like before these weird creatures invaded in 1962. My parents refuse, and always change the subject :(
My parents are just confused, it's very sad. They keep insisting that "there were always birds, they've just always been around and it's ridiculous to suggest otherwise". The fact is that they were too young in 1962 to remember much beforehand, so they've convinced themselves that people could never eat fish&chips or ice-cream at the seaside without being robbed by enormous gulls, and that you'd always see crows and magpies eating dead animals at the side of the road, or fat little Robins in the snow at Christmas. I just wish I could help them accept that birds arrived suddenly in 1962, maybe then they'd stop singing the nursery rhyme about the "four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie" in their sleep and then waking up screaming at 3am. It must be repressed} êmemories that's doing it, they must have seen some terrible things. But at under 5 years old, they were too young to really understand what the turkeys and geese, with the help of the chickens and ducks, did for the human race to retaliate against the birds and, butcher so many of them, especially at Christmas and Easter.
@@Jazzinthedark84 A nasty gull nicked my last bit of toast at an outdoor breakfast in Llandudno only last year. Utterly brazen thuggery. This decades old menace needs to be stopped.
This video is so well done--it fools you at the beginning and then it's just so funny. We watched it with a group of friends and we just howled. Plus my cat absolutely loves it!
My son and i saw this clip on a kids tv show last week and we pissed ourselfs laughing. Im so glad ive just found it on here, thank you, its fucking well funny!!! "Heres some back-skippers"...Superb!!!!
Came here from revisiting the Mystery Pond on Jinsy. I shall be sure to bring my finest twitching trousers and binoculars to looks out for these splendid birds around Log Land next time.
something about scrolling through year old comments and listening to an obviously aged documentary in the early mornings of an off-day is so comforting. i hope you're happy, healthy and at peace.
@@LonesomeTwin I'm pleased to say, not only is he alive, he has been reborn many times since the making of 'burds of Britain'. After helping the world to see a new religion czcams.com/video/S-t7MV-Z6Pc/video.html&feature=emb_logo&ab_channel=Torvakian, he sat back an reaped the niceness that came flowing out.
It's Peter Serophilawitz or however it is spelt! He's "Pete" in Shaun of the Dead, he's a member of the "Look Around you" team who created this video too!
I'd be fairly sure the narrator is Peter Serafinowicz. In Episode Six of the series they do a Birds of Britain segment when Leonard Hatred runs into the studio, and on the DVD Commentary they said they invited the guy who did the voiceover for Series One to do it for this but he didn't want to so Peter did it instead.
In America, I believe birds are called "Fanny Packs", although "fanny" means something quite different over here - it's a term used to describe the cooling power of a hand-driven ziggy-zag piece of paper, or "wafty".
"Baby birds are called... bees."
Brilliant.
ikr
Been saying this for nigh on 17 years. Nigh on bleedin 17 twelvemonth
This video is curiously comforting. I mean, its hilarious, but the music, and the voice... its comforting
Unlikely to find a better 3 minutes of comedy anywhere on CZcams. Every line is simply wonderful.
What about the experiments with water, ants, and eggs?
'These beautiful, mysterious creatures that came to our planet suddenly in 1962'
Daryl Carpenter omg history up hereby
There’s a twist, look around you is a sequel series to the hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy.
"Starlingrad" I couldn't stop laughing
Also the whole map looks.. ahem... very special :)
i had a poker face the whole time yet why.... WHY DID THE CHICKEN ON THE TREE GOT ME
who could ever forget upside down pigeons?
I still haven't found a better video than this on the whole of CZcams .
Spiders on drugs?

I love that they have all birds name wrong, and the crew's names in the end credits.
Thank you for educating me. I feel like I know everything about birds now.
But what are they?
