I believe you will have more success loading the reset screen for the HP EliteBook 840 G3 if you shut down your laptop. Then, before you restart the laptop, HOLD DOWN THE F11 key. Now (while holding down the F-11 key) restart the EliteBook. Tapping the F-11 key and not holding it down is the reason you are having a problem entering the ""Reset this PC" screen.
Ok, hey I am not good at all with computer stuff. I am trying to factory reset my WINDOWS 7 ELITEBOOK HP... Also there are 2 stickers on the bottom right side of keyboard. Beside the windows 7 sticker the other says 'Intel Inside Core ¡5vPro..
I actually made it to the same screen in video where he has 2 options , but I clicked the faster process .. The log in password is still on my laptop keeping me from being able to log in. I need help will someone please help me. I was given this laptop 4 years ago and have no access to the email used with it or the password

THANKS! I HAVE A HP ELITEBOOK 850 G5 AND DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO WIPE THE LAPTOP FROM POWERING IT ON INSTEAD OF GETTING INTO THE COMPUTER! SUCKS THAT PEOPLE WILL SELL YOU LOCKED DEVICES!!!

I did as you’ve showed, it displayed pls wait and didn’t take me to the recovery screen. Instead it shows a blue screen saying your device ran into a problem, we’ll help you restart
Either your hardware is bad, hard drive is corrupted or you just need a whole new computer. It should let you get to the recovery screen with no issues. Maybe take it to a shop? Search online. Ask a computer tech.

I was being prompted for a recovery key as well. Booted back into windows, went to "Manage Bitlocker" and unencrypted the hard drive. It's restoring fine now.
