    I'm out of the loop apparently. I bought a single 10 and amp to throw in my 06 almost a year ago (not yet installed), not knowing these compact amp/subs were a thing. Really tempting to ditch what I have and get one of these instead. LOL

    My head unit has ONE Sub Out RCA. The powered subwoofer I am looking at has TWO (L & R IINPUT) Line In. I'm hearing conflicting info. Some say, run One line from Sub Out and pick either L or R in. Others say to use a Y-cable from the Sub Out and use both ports on the powered subwoofer Line In. Any suggestions or advice?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  Před 5 měsíci

      So most headunits will have a set voltage output on the mono RCA(s), regardless if that voltage is split between two ports or just one. So, your radio is putting full preout voltage through that one RCA output and not splitting it between two. Your input. On the amplifier side, it's usually the same if it's a mono amplifier to receive that voltage through one or two. Howevever, just to be safe, i'd add an RCA splitter to the radio side and run the two channel RCA cables to your amplifier to ensure your amp is getting maximum voltage your radio is putting out.

      So it shall be done. 😊 Thanks for the quick response. I watched your video last year on the speaker replacement and it went flawlessly. You guys are great.

    Is this the double cab? There are heater vents under the driver seat of the double cab. Did you place the sub over the vents? In front? Behind?

    • @drumzaj
      @drumzaj Před 3 lety +2

      they are heater/ac vents. I imagine the ac would actually help but would heat be problematic for the powered sub?

    • @f3rg971
      @f3rg971 Před 8 měsíci

      I've always thought the heater vents would be a bad idea. I figure I'll stuff mine with something to block off airflow.

    I see the Amp.Sub Combo is QBUS8v2 and comes with; bass knob, bass knob cable and high level input if no radio. Correct? What is the part number for the other kit with the RCA Cables, Power/Ground cables, Fuse and Remote Turn on Wire?

    Did you have to cut into the power cable to install the fuse holder in the engine bay???

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  Před rokem

      Yes, we cut into the amp power wire to install the inline fuse as close to the battery as possible.

      @@ProvoBeastAudio I connected the white and blue (accessories) wire into a blue wire in the aftermarket wiring harness behind the Sony stereo.
      Do I just tap into the same blue and white wire with that blue one coming from the subwoofer. Like do I have to disconnect the blue wire of the aftermarket harness that I connected to the white and blue wire behind the Sony stereo to connect the blue wire coming from the subwoofer, or can I have more than 1 wire connected to that blue and white (accessory) wire???

  • @israelrodriguez6986
    @israelrodriguez6986 Před rokem

    I ordered a Sony aftermarket single DIN radio. I’m wondering if that radio or do all aftermarket radios will also come with that blue and white wire to connect the remote wire from the SUB

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  Před rokem

      Yes, a Sony will have a blue / white wire to trigger the aftermarket amplifier to turn on when the radio turns on.

    Did you not need a LOC? The sub/amp I bought “requires” one but I’m not sure how accurate that is

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  Před 3 lety

      Nope because this was connected to an aftermarket radio that had rca preouts already.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio

      Nope, there was just enough pressure from the seat to hold is securely in place.
