I counted all the guns in g40, and while you think the axis have more, they don’t. They have better positioning, and after the first turn the axis may pull ahead, but on board at the start, the Allies have (slightly) more IPC value. The more you know!
@@Emanon... It is why I say the Axis have better positioning, and they have initiative in the turn order to dictate battles and swing it in their favor. But from setup, no.
I LOVED watching this video Clegg! Very well made, good examples, some history and true classy British humor. For G40 (variants), tanks come in favour for certain nations when combined with mechanised infantry. Although this is not a beginners strategy I guess 😉
I'm a noob but watched a ton of games. What often strikes me as the biggest mistake is * casually * buying the wrong stuff. Especially fleet is overpriced, you need it to protect your transports or get an opponent to waste too many IPC on too much fleet. On the other hand, ships are cool and always tempting to get more off. On the other side, I see players skimping on cost and buying onfantry when you can trade 4 of those for 3 artillery instead and have a much bigger threat. Just build infantry as much as you expect to lose plus a couple. In a game where destroyers or even planes are casually wasted for some minor benefit, the 1 extra IPC for artillery is just not done. I've almost exclusively seen people buy artillery to spend their last IPC. Technically, assuming you have enough infantry, it's the best value for money. Tanks you buy for movement. Often they are bought when artillery are better, but sometimes the opposite. People just continue to buy troops to send slowly to the front (mostly Germany and Japan) not thinking of an objective. If you plan to take Moscow in three turns and it takes 5 turns to get there, switching to tanks make them actually arrive in time. Compared to fleet or planes, tanks are still pretty efficient. Planes you use for trading territory, the added firepower you don't lose next round. In addition, they can attack fleets or be apart of them (with carriers) and have huge range and flexibility. If you build fleet, the carriers are least wastefull if you defeat or chase of your opponent, as you'll still have use for the planes. Nice defense especially. Destroyers are the best fodder. subs are cheaper but can't be targetted by planes and are weaker on defense, so only build for the purposes of attacking a strong enemy fleet. I like the idea of battleships, and repairing one hit for free. Perfect for a strafe attack. In an already big fleet they are a nice addition but in practice you'll seldom need to build them. Some may have a use for Cruisers (really loving the bombard), but imo not worth to buy.
I thank you very much. These are the tips in try to learn my friends. But now that it is in video form I think they'll have an easier time to understand. Thanks again 👍🏻
Great video. I haven't played in a very long time. This takes me back. Question: When you say "Stay Focussed", did you deliberately misspell "Focused"? This statement is followed by, "Pay attention to the details", so I thought they may be connected. Great job. I'll be watching your other videos.

Maybe you can do a video on each faction as an overview and strategy guide.
I'll see what I can do 😉

That's really interesting!
You're probably right, but the US needs at least 2-3 turns for their guns to be brought to bear and affect the Axis economy.

Ha, nice catch. Google reckons both spellings are acceptable, but the double s version is more common in British English
