Episode 69 when you reached 100k, the stars have aligned
Nice
Truly noice!
Woooooo yeah baby that’s what we’ve been waiting for woooo
I want to like the comment, but then that would the 69 gag 😄
69 likes in this comment at the time of this comment...
If they keep making new or bringing back old Guard Regiments of Guard in Kill Team, I'm all for it. Lets get some Valhallan Ice Warriors baby.
I hope to see other factions get love too at some point
You know what would be really cool Armageddon ork hunters that would absolutely never happen but a man can dream
Vostroyan firstborn is what I would want!
Jay, I'm surprised you didn't mention how they just took the tan sand board for Kill Team and instead used it in the Warcry box - for swampland lol ...
Goliath is just a Brute chopper from halo, still looks neat
To answer your question about Blood Bowl, you will just need a new rule book to play the current rules of Blood Bowl. A Pass stat was introduced in the 2020 edition. The rest of your pitch, tokens, minis, dice and templates from the 2016 box behind you will all be compatible.
yes get the new hardback rulebook - it contains everything! Except the newer Dungeonbowl and Spike! magazine stuff released later (there's a book for that too.)
Well if you think about it, they are in a spaceship which typically is tight space ( usually) . Not to mention that you wouldn't want to penetrate the hull while fighting. Not to mention shotty covers a wide area so makes sense for them. to have shotguns.
shotguns are very common real world ship weapons!
Jay was spot on, I fell in love with the breachers and was actually looking forward to painting them bright copper or bronze with oxidation everywhere with the tech green paint.
I think the breachers have shotguns as they're going into tight corridors with quick turns, also very short corridors. If that isn't perfect for shotguns I don't know what are.
Yes, I'll finally get to use my Imperial Pilot from the Battle of(for?) McCragge(sic) boxed set. I've had that mini forever with no rules.
Underworlds is one of the best and smoothest gameplay experiences, GW has to offer. Its also heaven for a painter.
I agree! I love being able to paint small groups for some of the armies that I've always been interested or curious about but didnt want to invest in a full unit of troops. Warcry and killteam are great for that reason too.
It's just amazing that it took ~40 warbands to give us a warband of "mortal" humans who are still loyal to Sigmar... Even Skaven have had 2 warbands.
More Mortals for the Mortal Realms please.
15:12 I love how Jay says he hopes it's a few, remembers what he said about being wrong about releases, and changes course to say it'll probably only be one. Now that's character consistency.
Episode 69? A KROOT kill team?!
Praise the Emperor!
(p.s. I want max units of the small kroot hound doggo)
Recently found your channel, been watching your videos while putting my 9 month old daughter to sleep and while building my novitiates kill team. Just getting into 40k for the first time, and I’ve really enjoyed your videos. Thank you!
“It’s not as much as Games Workshop could have charged you…”
Stop giving them ideas!
It was nice to see the Amazons get a refresh for bb, they'd been stuck with metel minis for a good while now. Maybe some of the other teams like it will get a boost.
As for the rules, the biggest change was that they added the passing ability stat. So you just need a copy of the 2020 rules for the updated team rules (or battlescribe) from what I recall, most of the rules are the same.
Dungeon Bowl is also fun
I been counting down the episodes until this one....I was not disappointed about the episode ##
The Nurgle squad is so nice and somewhat unique. That’s certainly my favorite.
Beautiful paint job on the Martians, not disaaaaaapoiiinteeeed...
As For Bloodbowl all you’d need at that point would be the new rule book since some things are a little different. But nothings stopping you from using the old one. Also they tend to reveal the new star players once a week after the teams been revealed for hype.
Congrats on 100k subs Jay & Nick. I haven't actually played a GW game or painted for about 15 years, but I love your channel, your positivity is awesome. I look forward to saying congrats again at the 200k mark, keep up the amazing work team!
The ‘How’ this episode should’ve been a moan in commemoration for episode 69. Although can’t imagine YT would love that.
Congrats for getting this far! 420 next 🤣
I like your videos a lot, I'm always interested in your thoughts
I know plenty of people are criticizing the old kroot hounds, but I recently painted one to take a break from my Tyranid army and it was a blast to paint
The sculpt isn't overloaded with details, the face is way more birdlike, the eyes are a bit more shallow, it's a simple miniature which opens up to plenty of different paintjob
The hallowed episode. We are all blessed on this day
5.23 I think the tire-less version of the bike is supposed to be like jaws, that you munch foes with. Perhaps a paint job that emphasised the pointy gears and darkened the inner section would make it look more fearsome that way?
oh dude well done on reaching 100K thats amazing!!! also "Warhammer Underpants" - comedy gold! haha
Painted my old Kasrkin as Imperial Navy Armsmen to go with my Imperial Navy Advisor. Gonna have to get my hands on these!
Those breachers are old skool Cylons from Battlestar Galactica or speeder bike pilots with three quarter length trench coats on!
Glad to be here on this historic episode. Keep crushing it, because now we need to get through 351 more episodes!
I recently got back into minis and one purchase got me thinking of you and this channel. I'm building my Heretic Astartes legion that I'm calling the Scions of Monarchia and due to lore reasons, I'm making some Sisters Repentia into possessed berserkers, essentially.
Anyway, love the channel and you inspire me to get better at painting. Cheers from Canada!
There was a Sslyth “snake person” that was part of the Dark Eldar range- I don’t know if they’re still available.
The resin Archon's Court figs are all gone from the webstore. Anyone looking for something suitable (and better sculpted) for a proxy would do well to look through the Diehard Miniatures catalog online.
The Bloodbowl snek is more of an homage to the ancient 1980s WFB Chaos Snakeman range, which has been gone for years.
@@richmcgee434 I'm fairly certain that the Archon court models are missing as part of the whole "range rotation" thing... so they're not necessarily gone forever. Not unless they release new versions before they see fit to bring them back.
On that note, a full plastic Court of the Archon kit would make for an interesting Kill Team.
Snakemen of kuresh? Anybody remember
Im brand new to the hobby because of this channel stumbled on it and now I'm totally in!
Best part of the ork into: the idea that an ork boy wouldn’t just choose an ork army but an (all be very messy) i
SM army!
A snake person without arms is just a snake.
The good thing about the Imperial Navy breachers is we can probably use them for arbites
Jay, thanks for the insightful and enthusiastic video :)
Congrats on 100k! I'm proud being before 10k gang!
I would live Underworlds if it didn't have the deck building aspect but each team just came with its own fixed deck of cards.
Ah well
About the snake with arms, there is in reality snakes that have little arms/paws, I don't know their name, but it's basically some remainders from their lezard ancestors
10:23
A lop bam boo! 👍😁
You did a great paint job on those Martian models. I do like the Amazon models for Blood Bowl. I might try my hand on that game. Keep up the great work.
Mars Attacks was a great game!
You can also use the Martians as a team in Dreadball. They excel at cheating and the whole team can potentially go on a uncontrollable kill frenzy when one takes out an opposing player, which is hilarious.
Congrats for 100k! Can't wait for the new kroot! The other day I was watching an old video and you said you have an original color scheme for your sisters of battle, have you ever showed them? I'm doing my own army and would be nice to have ideas
shotguns make a lot of sense for shipboarding actions. also its what they typically have in the novels as well.
Martians look cool in bright colors. The ash wastelands trailer is just a shipping container on a flat wheeled platform - I would much rather scratch-build the whole from $5 worth of toy parts from a garage sale with a few vehicle bits from old sprues and/or some 3D printed greeblies
Today starts a week of celebration, and after that we shall wait one hundred weeks until the celebrations return.
the scale of that mars attacks figure is actually 28mm, modern gw is 32mm heroic at a minimum, with a lot of their models pushing the 35mm envelope
Great video thanks
The Ork Kommandos aren't the only team with more than 10 models. The T'au Pathfinders have 3 drones and the Blooded have the Commissar and Ogryn. According to the GW webstore, the Veteran Guard come with 12 bases too... but aside from the standalone med-kit, I don't see why it would have that many.
I can see both the breachers and the Kroot having more than 10. The Breachers would have the C.A.T. in addition to the 10 people, and the Kroot would have a hound... or two.
The Kasrkin are absolutely coming to Kill Team... especially now that we know that the entire next season is taking place in the same setting. Since we can probably expect another box some time around November (the Chalnath box went up for pre-order 30th October), it does give us a bit if a timeframe of when to expect the rest of the Guard release (which has about 8 other kits beyond the Kasrkin which I'm aware of).
The big question for me now, regarding Kill Team, is whether or not it's just two new teams in the next box because it's the start of a new season and the other 3 boxes will be like the last 3, or if the next season of Kill Team will see 2 new team kits in each box just like the next year of quarterly Warcry boxes. If we get 2 entirely new team kits for every Kill Team box, the Kasrkin could be paired against anything.
For bloodbowl Pretty much the same rules. A few updates for the perks but for the most part you can take an old team into the old game etc.
I mean, I wasn't looking to buy anything for Kill Team... but, I mean, Kroot! How can I not love the Kroot?
I cannot wait for those Imperial Navy Breachers, I was on the fence about trying kill team but now I have to try it
Necromunda's a weird one. Because you have very small warbands, GW can't capitalise on "lots of bodies", so they really go all in on charging for books, scenery and the "extra bits" like these bikes.
I'm with ya on being soooo wrong about the Kill Team box, but I'm totally excited nonetheless! I'm starting to build a Tau army thats just Kroot units and big Battlesuits so I'm really stoked to have a few unique Kroot models to scatter through the army!
I think they have shotgun because there work in small hallways and kicking down doors, so it makes sense that that don’t have long range guns
Gratz on 100k subs!
That Warcry terrain reminds me of a Lion King play set from the 90s.
Congrats on the 100k!
You won't need to buy anything new to play the new blood bowl ... however, the scale of the squares on the new board is slightly bigger, so if you play on the old board, some bases will be tough to keep properly in their square without spilling over into other squares.
I'm probably going to buy this whole box.
your video caused me to guess the kroot correctly, you asked what roars in the 40k universe and my first thought was kroot...
Looking forwards to using my OPR jackals in Kill Team 😅
That bike really does look like that Rhino dude from the TMNT cartoon would be riding it lmao, but yeah like you daid a grittier paint job will give it more of a 'brute chopper from halo' look that i think would be really sweet
5:06 I assumed it was for running into people and grinding them up in it
Nice tan mat for that Warcry box. I'm surprised Jay didn't mention that.
Never have I ever been tempted to buy a Kill Team boxed set, but the voidsmen vs. Kroot... almost. Almost tempted me to buy it. It looks that good to me.
TAN SAND!
Your Martians came out great!
Fruit Carstalker King Band...
...oh, and I always find it odd when "dogs" looks like four-legged versions of whatever their masters look like. Like this kroot dog or the predator dog from The Predator.
Imagine if our dogs looked like four-legged humans, how creepy wouldn't that be!?!
The miniatures, pitch, dice, templates etc are the same with Blood Bowl (from BB2016 to BB2020/Second Season). But the rules are different, thought you can buy / access the rules for Second Season separately.
Hey Jay, have you seen the dreadnoughts announced buy GW for Horus Heresy ? I think they would make a fine addition to your collection.
You can use all your old blood bowl mini's. They're going to be smaller then the new ones but that doesn't matter. The rules are different so you'll need a new rulebook though. The 2020 version.
Not saying it's worth the price point, but the Necromunda Ridge Hauler vehicle with trailer is massive, actually bigger than a Baneblade
17:50 GW made a small range of Chaos Snakemen back in the 80s, which the new FW Bloodbowl fig is a (bad) homage to. If you want modern sculpts that are truer to the gonzo Chaos aesthetic of old, see Diehard Miniatures' online catalog. Oldhammer figs by Chaz Elliot, Tom Prow and others. There are more than enough new snakemen over there to make up a skirmish warband.
21:30 Cripes, you need to look at other scales. GW's bloated 30mm+ stuff is way larger than the industry norm of 25-28mm, and even that's ridiculously huge and impractical compared to 15mm figs from companies like Ground Zero Games, Alternative Armies, Splintered Light Minis, etc., etc. And then there's 6mm, which is very popular for vehicular microarmor and massed-battle historical gaming even if GW would like people to forget their old Epic rules sets were once their second best selling product line.
Kasarkins vs Genestealers will be the next one, to fit with the Impérial Guard codex huhu
What IF..... the Ksarkin are coming in a later Darkgallows Kill Team box. Your theory still holds weight, the bases still match 🤘
the snake person is just a Naga though Quetzalcoatl inspired.
and yes Nagas have arms (human torso) head differentiate between human, snake or in between.
They are making four kill team set's with space hulk terrain and unique kill team's. Can't wait to build a space hulk. 💯😁
Skirmish for GW is looking amazing.
Loving literally everything
Blood Bowl 2nd Season is a different game. Most of the mechanics are the same, however they have ALL the teams and Star Players through Snotlings included in the Core Book.Dice are the same, board is the same, and models are the same. Just added some additional stats (passing is separate from agility now), and refined the skills. So if anything just buy the Core book.
Congrats on 100K subs
Re: The bike's saw/wheel, GW has done a few saws with the newer 40k models and the Empire's tend to be conservative in tooth size (Penitent engines come to mind). The older model's saws, when comparison was available, tended to have larger teeth. I think they're trying to visually differentiate the empire's equipment from Orks and others but, I think it's just a miss. It looks too round.
The new edition of BB is slightly different. Most important, they split Agility into Agility and Pass (if I remember correctly). The old minis will work, although the scale is smaller
I think you forgot about the snake people who have models in 40k they generally work with the drukhari
You should read "Mars Attack Red Sonja". Scifi meets fantasy.
You can play Blood Bowl however you want, but the new edition is slightly different and really works out all the kinks in Blood Bowl. I recommend 2nd season edition, the value in the box is absolutely one of the best GW offers.
Of course Snake people would have arms, the Snake people of the Desert of Skulls have arms as well
Congrats. That how made me choke 🤣
I bet it will be tan modular space hulk boards
You just need the newr rulebook for blodbowl2020. All models, pitches etc are still compatible with the old versions. I play pretty much only bloodbwl and played a couple of tournaments and played on pitches of pretty much all versions, played against teams with models from old versions, weird custom teams etc.
I’m not completely sold on kill team but Warcry and Necromunda look absolutely fantastic
I'm on the fence about the brute chopper, I love that witch hunter warband and the amazon bloodbowl team looks decent
warhammer underpants, love it 😂
I'm going to paint mine up to be the escorts for Salamanders
The Breechers look cool, until you visualize their skeletal structure under the void armor and realize how long their necks would have to be to see out the helmets.
The stilts remind me of the Crow Fishers from mad max fury road
congrats on 100k subs
Warhammer Underpants: Now With Added Chaos Spiky-Bitz.
You should get Blitz Bowl, runs rings around Blood Bowl
17:50 reminded me the lizardmen exist
Are those 3D printing layer lines on the tan dog?
Jay, how do you dust your figures? Considering you have a lot of them out on regular wall shelves? They must get very dusty after a while..
