respect to all PS2 homebrew and software makers!
I'll totally going to get this! I have all 5 PlayStation systems, ps one classic is modded and soon PS2 slim. đ
Bro Iâm bout to buy a brand new slim ps2 9000 I need hella advise to mod it fast and works well as possible
Awesome but I would recommend android emulator. Have it on my tablet and connected ps5 controller. Works as good as PS2 itself
Not all games workâ@@yarykkucher809
Iâm very interested in the speed tests youâre going to do! What a cool option!
Really interestig and quite affordable. And speed is better than usb, this is a must. Thanks for the info, Wicked!
Is there any slowdown like in the HDD method for slims?
Between radio control builds and other projects..this is one of those things I could probably make myself but would rather purchase
Thanks for the tips. Ordered one and can't wait to get mine.
How was it ? Can u get def jam fight for NY?
This looks amazing to be able to play a lot of classic ps2 games like this will help keep your collection intact.
"...keep your collection intact..."...indeed a few days ago I was playing SH 2 directors cut in my PS2 the disk start rotating at an incredible speed wich made my PS2 soul went to heaven and center of the disk became all scratched ...
@@miguelpereira7934 I'm sorry to hear that, I really wish we could make new discs to replace the scratched discs that are out of print. I also wish I had superhero powers to repair everything and make all cartridges and discs brand new. But unfortunately God and the angels won't grant me or other people that superhero power which I would like to have to repair everything in this world, I don't know why God refuses grant us superpowers to repair electronics, discs, cartridges, motherboards.
I would love to see you try this with some PS2 slim models. I suspect it would work fine in at least the early slims.
actually, with funtuna any ps2 can be softmodded
...awesome that you load this" in"

With this cool sd card now you can go back to 2000 and make it even better by looking into the future to 2022đ
What a cool way to play you could have a large library in a 128G card. Good review and cool video Wicked!đ
Youd only be able to have around 64 games, not really large but not small by any means
@@ashura2752 well it's true it's PS2, DVDs, not CDs I thought as it was PS1. But 64 or so it's not bad. Maybe a higher memory would do the trick. 1TB?

So these 2 cards is all you need now, no hard drive? Awesome been waiting for this option for years!
I'm really interested in getting one of these for my slim so I can just put on my games on there after ripping them
That is the idea in the end.
And bunch of patients:-) for me most of games doesn't recognize the memory card I am using slim ps2
Very interesting product. Thx for your video! Maybe someone can try if this runs with the slim PS2 version. For the Fat version I have my internal hdd, but I need a better solution for my slim version than the slow usb solution đ
This tutorial works for both? fat and slim versions? Or what is the exact link for purchasing the slim version of the complete package (FMCB + MX4SIO)?
Have you seen the MC2SIO SD adapter mod yet? Very cool.
Yes.... thank to you now đ
Awesome great option đđ
Playing PS2 compared to back in the days has come a long way man
My favorite console of all time đ€ Am I seeing correct did that thing solve FMV stuttering like you get when using a flashdrive ?
It does because the usb ports 1.1) are to slow to data transfer the videos the mb slot has a higher data transfer speed and so the videos are in original speed
Thatâs the same questionI had đ€, looks great đđŒ
I figured it had to be better off SD but I never really looked into the transfer rate of the card slots . thats why you have to experiment đ€đ€ Nerdcore Hardcore
Hi man, awesome video but, mx4sio seems to block mc0 and dont let to save savegames, so we can play but we cant save the gamesavesâŠ.so⊠im usin a slim 70004 model.
I heard that the PS1 hardware has access to the memory card slot so it might be possible to get MX4SIO to play PS1 games without POPs that would be so epic all PS2 games on HDD & all PS1 games on MX4SIO instead of VCD format & emulation!
Sounds interesting where did you heard this?
Fascinating. Iâd love to see you do an A500 mini video :)
We'll have one out this weekend if you're interested. :)
Hey Wicked,
can you do a disassembly of the MX4SIO? I used different TUTs in the internet to build my own MX4SIO, but I could not get the thing to work... Thank you so much

Upgrade
I'd like to see how this compares to using free mcboot and a Hard drive in a fat
Can you use a micro SD card with the adapter that usually comes with the mirco sd card and place the micro sd card in the adapter and then the adapter into the memory card?
How to save games if Freemacboot memory card doesnt work for saving certain game?
Does this work on the Slim? The store link provided only mentions PS2 "FAT"?
Can I just use this as a memory card tho to save games on? Is there any program I need or just put a SD card in and it's good to go?
Does this work with a micro sd card plugged into an SD card adapter into the back of memory card?
Thank you
Take a look at the ZSO-Support (compressed images) for ALL devices! đ
Excellent video, thankyou. From what I have seen of this card it is not compatible with GSM.. is this correct ?
Sorry what do you mean with GSM ?
@@WickedGamerCollector GSM is an app within OPL Loader that converts 480i to 480p and higher at source, giving a much better image. From what i have seen in a compatibility spreadsheet GSM is not compatible with the MX4SIO
can you use the sd card adapter with a normal free mcboot memorycard? (my ps2 has a matrix modchip but i still use free mcboot)
Can you make a video of explain how to use the memorycard when loading games from MX4SIO or hdd , playing games in fantastic, but still cant figure it out how to save when using both hdd and MX4SIO.
Where can I buy a sd card fully loaded with games?
I wonder if there will be a game save MC solution as it pertains to some sort of ~automated "swap" but I'm not sure how that could be achieved.... My mind's eye envisions a free mcboot card design that has a switching circuit onboard and a ~piggyback/~daisy-chain MC slot that would allow you to plug in a memory card dedicated to game saves into the FreeMCboot card = where an added FreeMCboot switching circuit design might switch between the free mcboot card and the daisy chained gamesave memory card all plugged in the same slot. Regardless, the mx4SIO and mx2SIO products are one heck of a leap forward when it comes to options especially for slim PS2 players who want to also play online without desync problems losing connection with other players that can occur with USB loading. Looking forward to the speed comparisons to surmise if the new device can likely lower instances of desyncing especially for those online and LAN-tunneling owners of slim PS2 consoles who can't play via hard drive as an option.
Now I can put my slim ps2 to use with this useful mod!! No more lag from cutscenes!
Scenes are perfect but gameplay have lag on my console.

Nice video WickedâŠ.also check out the Brook controller adapters to use a DualShock 4 on your PS2: brings old games to life itâs so much better than the old DS2 controller
Do the Brooks adapters allow you to use whatever is convenient on the same adapter for the moment if you have a PS3 controller that's ready to go or PS4 controller that's ready?
BTW it is not necessary if you play through OPL. With OPL you can play with ds3/4 controllers wired/wirelessly through usb. If you want xbox pad or some d/xinput, yeah, have to use Brook adapter
What do you use to connect your PS2 to your monitor?
So basically no pc required. Just load games from phone on a mini SD card with adapter?
Update
received mine two days ago. For some reason the opl 1.2 freezes often when using my mx4sio. When using USB, it's a little better, saves setting fast and hangs much less but still buggy. Did know if it's the mx4sio card or the opl version but now I'm sure it's the opl. Resorted to using the normal opl that also comes on the fmcb card and a Scandisk ultra fit 512gb. At least it supports both USB and mx4sio. I must say the mx4sio is faster than USB with ssd but opl 1.2 needs work. Ssd through USB helps to minimize the fragmented issue. My main issue is that the opl gets stuck on saving system settings or individual game settings like setting up vmc. Any pointers would be appreciated đ
There's a person in the U.S who's selling his own variant called the MC2ISO. Maybe that one has better success than the you got from aliexpress.
There is no OPL 1.2.0... That is a BETA, hence bugs are to be expected! Use the BDM3-Test-build for now!
On another note: OPL supports fragmented files since ~a week again and no an SSD would NOT have helped in any way, because the fragmentation is on the filesystem-level and OPL does not use a filesystem driver in-game!

Noticed slowdowns in Burnout during gameplay.. is that same in the Disc version too?
I don't recall those slowdowns when I had my disc experience recently in my fat PS2. I made the same observation you did regarding the Slowdown seen here
This don't happen when playing from disc. There is a occasional slowdown in Burnout 3/4/5 dominator but not of this type. That's why i'm not entirely sold on HDD/SSD,Mcard solutions for ps2. Way too many odd little glitches and too much fiddling with some games to make them work. What we need is proper optical drive emulator that perfectly emulates ps2 dvd drive. Something like Xstation/Gcloader PNP etc.
Avid PS2 Burnout 3 disc player here, I noticed the slow downs in this footage as well. I can attest that the disc version of the game has never experienced the same slow downs in the video. Been sticking to the real thing, donât want to deal with slight imperfections.
@@Lexarf0rk I bought takedown at a flea market when I found it a couple months ago and just recently bought a fat PS2 to play it on because my PS4 pro can't read it
@@akilluminati47 PS2 > PS3 > PS1 >= PS4 > PS5 I all I have to say about that.
I'm planning to get another PS2 in the future. But do some of you guys knows how to fix the issue of the blue dots not moving? My old PS2 never had that problem and I want to have it moving around all the time and not like this 7:15. I remember some other CZcamsr who makes tutorial videos about modding Consoles and I realized his PS2 had that issue. but in his newer videos he fixed it.
To fix that you just need to replace the CR2032 battery that's iside the console. Just take into account that on some slim models you'll have to buy a battery that's soldered to a plug that you connect to the board.
@@franciscomiranda3362 thanks for the help. đ
The dead battery / static orbs only affects when time stamping save games afaik. Just hit power button a few times if the system freezes... don't open the disc tray until boot screen ok mind as it will shoot open aggressively due to not recognising tray limit switches. âïž
Oh I have a white slim that only loads CD games so this could be a good option if it works on that model.
Wish I had a working PS2. I missed out on that generation of games
Are they expensive there where you live ?
They are dirty cheap here find them a lot of thrift shops
They are not expensive, I just havenât gotten around to buying another one yet
I heard there was some saving game issues with this and development was going to iron that out. As that issue been solved now? If it as I would like one.....
Hey hey,
So, what's about ethernet SMB connection? Is MX4SIO faster than Ethernet?
So it looks like this game has slowdowns every three seconds in the race. Can you do a video showing other games to see if they also have slowdown?
you should really consider using a micro sd to mini sd adapter then a mini sd to full sd adapter to plug into your psx memory card for playing games
I just realized I needed a special FMCB to use MX4sio
Now how to you get games if you donât have the original disc ?
Is there enough bandwidth to read game data thru Memcard slot?
wicked no doubt hdd of fat ps2 is the best way to play ps2 games with fastest loading and have upto 2 tb hundreds of ps2 games library in hdd and flawless gameplay but usb is super slow how fast compared to usb is loading time of this sd card set up ??
Just plugging in an ethernet cable and setting up a smb share is easier and faster than messing with the sd card.
There is a dedicated raspberry pi distrib to make it easy.

I cant afford a ps2 hard drive so hopefully one day I can get one of these.
Can the PS2 load PS1 titles from MC4SIO ? Or only PS2 titles ?
No ingame music? There are nasty slow downs in Burnout (too slow data reading?). I still using SMB, IMO the best one but least compact solution.
That can be an option đ
@@WickedGamerCollector agree,,, that "little piece of technology" is good for everyone`s who needs compact solution...

If doesn't. What should I use?
I personally prefer the hard drive mostly because you have to format the micro SD to FAT32 and you need a program like USButil to split those larger files to fit on a FAT32 storage. That being said, I have the MC2SIO memory card and have games on a micro SD.
Exfat supported.
What is the loading speed difference between loading from HDD vs MX4SIO ?

Burnout appears to lag. I've experienced that with any backup I've tried. The original disc appears to be the best. I haven't tried it over the Lan port yet tho.
You probably need to go into the mode settings to get better performance. Some games won't run very good unless you do this.
I tried the card and Iâm not impressed. The HDD and Eth option is the best way to go.
Are the games region free when using this or do you need to mess with the image files?
