Had 2 dual shocks, one silver and a black standard one. Had 80sh games, ranging from jrpgs (Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria etc.), survival horror (RE, Silent Hill etc) racing (Grab Turismo, NFS etc) and Fighting (Soul Calibur 3). Overall a great console, sold it cheap but kinda regret 😂. Cheers.

      Most cards are in FAT32. On portion 6:30 of the vid, he is in the properties of the card, and it shows FAT32. I would make sure it is a class 10, but most are class 10s, I have also heard bad things about Micro SD cards, so Id make sure it is only an SD card, not a micro with the adapter. The Dead or Alive 2 file you converted to an ISO file has a file size too large for the FAT32 formatted flash memory you showed. I have a PS2 Slim, one that works with a standard FMCB v1.966 card, with a dead optical drive which I haven't been able to fix through the use of troubleshooting methods found on-line. For that reason I'm converting games I OWN to ISOs and have run into the FAT32 4GB file size limit for many of them. An exFAT formatted flash drive which allows file sizes greater that 4GB does NOT work despite one claim online I saw that it does.
    Also, THE game I'd settle for as the ONLY game on the system if I could get it working is Crazy Taxi. However, it's not a DVD, it's a CD-ROM and imgBurn gives a warning that it's not the type of disc that would normally be converted to an ISO, but gives the option to do so. However, the resulting ISO and any other ISO made from a game on CD-ROM instead of a DVD also do not run. What's a fix for this?
    BTW, a 32GB flash drive is far too small. The nine games I've converted to ISOs thus far take up 19GB. What is the maximum USB flash drive size directly supported by the PS2 Slim's USB port?

    • @OrangeChan
      @OrangeChan Před 2 lety +1

      For the first problem: You should use USBUtil. It basically separates the game into smaller parts, as a result, you can play games which are too big for FAT32.
      For second problem: DVD and CD games have their own respective folder in USB folder. You must put CD games into CD folder, not DVD folder.
      Also, you can try to run your backups on emulator (PCSX2) to see if they are working or not.

      @@winstonsmith478 Also, If you use USB stick, you should be careful about defragmentation too. OPL doesn't like fragmented games, and you can't use defragmentation on USB sticks. If I were you, I would use USB HDD instead, and finally, you will encounter stuttering in FMVs because of speed that PS2's USB ports capable of, also loading won't be as fast as DVD,SMB,HDD.

    • @tigereye6487
      @tigereye6487 Před rokem

      Yes, but I'd check for a date code by the model number, hopefully it is 8B or lower. If it is 8C or above, that means it may be a little harder to do, but probably still doable. My model is 77001 and the code is 7A. This is a manufacture date code, and they updated security around the 3rd quarter of 2008 (8C).
      Even these should be compatible though, as what this does is launches this as a "DVD", then crashes the DVD software (on purpose), and allows the code from Free MCBoot take control, giving you the menu. I found a thread from a supposed dev from this software stating he ran a test on one of the 75001 model PS2s, and he stated it works just not with a Micro SD card, only a base SD card.
