I think the biggest problem is that these handhelds are so close to perfection but the default software always is lacking. I just want something that doesn’t require tinkering beyond adding or removing roms. I don’t want to have to do custom firmware.
Nailed it.
Then the r36s is perfect for you. Because you already have ArkOs on it...and you can update it via wifi....and you're set.
@@dcents5458 I have a 35xx with onion os and it plays all the stuff I want. I am interested in getting the 35xx sp but am waiting to see what custom firmware is available for it. I also recently modded my og gameboy and gba with an ips and bought an r4 card for my ds/dsi xl/2dsxl systems. So I think I’m good at this point.
The SF-2000 is the single best designed handheld of all times in terms of form factor and ergonomics, it's just perfect in every possible way... except it can barely only emulate up to GBA/SNES. :(
If only we had literally the exact same device being cable of DreamCast/N64. No, devices like the Anbernic RG353P and PocketGo S30 are not what I want, they both RUIN what makes the SF-2000's design so perfect.
totally opposite opinion to mine...I have no problem installing and tweaking CFW but the problem is that nearly all of these products are cheaply designed and made with lots of hardware flaws...and the ones with nice hardware are expensive overkill for someone like me wanting to run only PS1 and below.
Your my favorite channel for the cheap chinese knockoff reviews! you've also been a great help in choosing what to buy.
My favourite 3.5 inch screen handheld is the R36S especially with ArkOS build by Mash Tec.❤
Rg353m with arkos. Boom. :)
My problem specifically on Android are the software.
The specs are impressive asf on Odin 2. But emulator development are driven to a halt because of drama. That means instead of it getting optimized to run better, you'll just have to brute force your way to run it.
I totally agree , i just got the Rg36s black 64gb and 128gb purple, my purple Rg36s screen is terrible and both have every game i want but certain games didn't load especially zero team usa, as consumer to constantly want perfection from these products and not worrying about how to add roms, it keeps us wanting more. Thanks for sharing 👍
Miyoo Mini+ and Onion OS the King of handleds 🎉
Miyoo Mini+ i love that thing.. played with it yesterday 😂
I waited a long time for a handheld without major flaws. We are there. The 35xx line (and similar) provide amazing performance, quality builds at a cheap price. The only problems I have now are (1) picking from the hundreds of great games to play and (2) need to spend more time playing and less time having fun with all the emulation options.
Just wondering, what are you emulating? I see a difference in the Rg35xx horizontal and the vertical in the CPU and RAM
@@davidalves6813 h model; emulating up through PS1, plus Dreamcast and PSP.
Well said.
I dont think they go out of date quickly as most are the same stuff in different cases or hardly an update as using e waste
Ah the x series handhelds i was there when you got the X6, oh how times have changed in little time there are some really nice and powerful emulation handheld devices now and im loving them 🙏🏽
The first emulation device I had was the LDK. Now I have a Trimui Smart Pro and a RG35XXSP. It was a great improvement regarding performance and built quality!
Mine was LDK too! Now I feel like no one know this handheld... and I have far too many of this handhelds😂
Can you make a video about what's the best device for 3DO emulation?
Ow that is a really good question 😶
For emulation most of the time we need to look into PC's with batocera.
@@WickedGamerCollector Can't wait to see that.
Would be fun to talk about the different options.
Best Emulations for ... PS2, PS1, Game Cube, Wii, 3DO ... etc.
@@WickedGamerCollector Yeah, you should include 3DO when you do happen to find it.
Sometimes it's lso qbout the design, i bought some devices just because thy look or feel cool. I like mx older ones still and i mainly play 8 and 16 bit games anyway, so i don't always need a new one, but i like the variety
The problem is three fold -- there are too many of them, there are too many insignificant iterations from one handheld to the next from the same company (looking at you Anbernic), and too many of them come pre-loaded with games which in my opinion is a HUGE mistake morally and legally.
These handhelds was my go to coming up with. Great review and explanation of handhelds. Awesome videos. If you can check out the "AOC Am16 Amd ryzen 7 5700u mini PC" would that be a good to great mini PC ? Thanks
The madness RG35xx, RG35XX H, RG35xx Plus, RG 28xx, RG35SP,
And then: mini, batocera 40, knulli, MU OS, stock OS, stock OS moded...
Mountains of madness lol
Yeah, and .. after 1 year they are all or most of them pointless or sold out 🤨
To BE honest we have too Many Handhelds. The RK3326 is still holding.
And even budget Handhelds like sf2000 and gb300 have moded OS. I AM Very happy with my consoles but the thing it is kind of getting Insane to do a video, you allmost need to go to college só you can know All OS :-).
Why do i need 10000 games, If i only play 50? Retro Handhelds is making me having a existencial Crisis lol. Just bought a PS2 for 20 dólares OMG why?
One device that I think is still good now is the RG351P: not expensive, decently sized, with the perfect screen and enough power to play GBA games. It's a specific use case (playing GBA) but for that it's still great
Glad you made this video
Best tips; Save money buying versions with smaller sdCards/game libraries, because you'll be wanting to change the sdCard any of these devices come with immediately and making your own libraries anyway.
Use the Google Charts Retro Emulation Handheld sheet to compare specs, screen resolutions, form factors, and most importantly prices!
And always wait for people to review a system before just buying one, let others be the guinea pigs! You never know what hidden problems these devices can have.
I'd say the best cheap device is the m17. You can find it on alli for 30-35 and you can play some psp and most ps1. It slows down a bit but I can play dbz 😅
How do you recoup your money after the video is out.
Can't imagine these devices working for long.
The cost must add up quickly
For me I still use my hacked psp, psvita and 3ds..
I got an X55 but couldn’t access any games on it OR charge the thing! $135.00 wasted! 😢
You need to open the back of the console and unplug battery for few minutes. About access to games... After update you have to put all games folders into the folder name roms and everything should start working fine. (I may be wrong with name of the folder).
@@rondbi I thought the games were already on the thing; I’m not tech savvy enough to do something like that. And I know of NO person who can (without charging several hundred dollars for the service.)
Pro tip. If you get a device that can play ps2 and GC but doesn't have active cooling, you'll end up cooking your touch screen. Spend the extra money if ps2 emulation is your thing.
all those lithium batteries of questionable quality plus old age all charged up and powering these old soc with improper cooling is what worries me.
the other day I found my powkiddy q90 and atgames genesis portable with batteries swollen... having witnessed a cellphone battery explosion up close before, this is quite scary.
please recycle your old devices and dispose of those batteries, ideally without a charge in it, when u no longer use them. Or if u still use them, check and replace swollen (or just old) batteries as soon as you discover them.
makes me start to appreciate AA powered devices more.
The garbage of game consoles start with X20 UP
These devices need to stop coming with garbage micro SD cards that corrupt themselves after a month. TWO of my devices killed themselves last week while I was playing them because their microSD cards just corrupted themselves. I don't have time to tinker and get new ones and flash the OS. I PAID from a game device that comes with an SD card. It is an actual scam that the SD cards are not fit for purpose and are guaranteed to break quickly during use.
I’ve been wondering about this. Including a decent SD card would add what to the price… $1? 2?
Pow meow meow! Funny.
good, bad and the not worth it
Your hands don't match your voice
the x6 isn't really a clone of a psp, as it seems to be linked with the x7 and x12 line of vitas, it's actually a knockoff of the JXD psp clone which ran Android and were like the other Android handhelds, just letting you know 😅
